This Wolcen beta-to-be is far from being a final release. It’s not even gonna be beta when they release it, if they release it this year. It’s going to be a reworked alpha of chapter 1 and maybe 2.

Beta can be anywhere between alpha and release.
Some betas are in a really close to release state but it doesn’t mean all betas are like that.
Particularly, in the case of games in Early Access that transition from alpha to beta, the beta starts closer to an alpha state than to a release state.
And, in the case of Wolcen, the question is to know if the beta will even be in a beta state and not in an alpha state.

this is the point where i bite. wasn’t impressed with what i had seen of the alpha but gameplay in the last vids looked good. in conclusion, zantai is to blame for delaying forgotten gods. 
Wow they disabled the skill tree for this test… I’ll just come back when I can ACTUALLY build something new again… Not interested in farming endless dungeon with insanely good drop rates, and limited start skill.

It’s just a server stress test
god damn it i didn’t check the post and assumed what’s there is the beta… and then wondered what they actually changed… gotta dl another 8gb to not have a skilltree anymore. :rolleyes:
This is phase one, beta multiplayer stress test. It lasts one week. Phase 2 will bring more content… hopefully.
Why do a stress test before the game is (mostly) complete? How can they get a realistic test done right now with only a small part of the game playable and not exactly stellar player numbers? I don’t get it, a stress test is something you do when you’re feature complete and need to find out how much server space you need to buy for release day…
Yeah it’s not the first time i have this kind of doubts about this game. My rational self is quite skeptical about the whole project. On the other hand i just hope it will be something playable one day…
