I’m pretty sure Ceno is being sarcastic (or my sarcasm detector is busted).
But seriously, a mastery built around the best damage type in the game is bound to be the most OP.

While true, flat and % physical are both usually lower than their magical-damage equivalents (although flat vitality is usually the lowest in the game, for obvious reasons).
Ceno’s tier list of damage types (best->worst) (a flat damage type may be ranked higher or lower in consideration of its DoT as well):
Now i wonder why flat Vitality damage is the lowest. Can i know why?
Because -Vitality Resist is the highest.
Ooh, makes sense. Devouring Swarm alone drops Vitality resist by -100% at level 26 and -75% at level 16.
Thx guys but I just had to do it cuz discussion here was going in completely different direction from one I was aiming to and this guide is created for.
Apology accepted, If I wanted to cheat or what ever, builds that I made would be much better and more op, but I enjoy this game and cheating would kill that feeling. First two months of playing was hard for me, I was under geared, didn’t know much about the game, had troubles farming nemesis/bosses, etc. So I do understand your troubles.
Later when learned thing or two about the game I made my first capable of farming all game content character and game became easy. Now in my standard farming runs I average 3-4 legendary items per hour plus some MIs and things that follow.
I dont play that much and I play this game for a bit less than a year still I do have almost all legendary items and shit lot of really god MIs. I dont farm crucible, most of my items are from nemesis bosses hunting and from gambling at TH.
On a side note every mastery is not op, put the best gear there is on any other single mastery and I doubt that you will kill Mad Queen without risk of dying.
Its not even in first 5 imo. Things that are making this build powerful are crazy tankines from soldier mastery that you gain by using a shield, immense flat phys dmg that you gain from same sources, insane flat phys resistance reduction from break morale (45 on 22 lvl), dmg reduction from war cry, and cadence+deadly momentum that skyrockets your dmg.
This build in terms of dmg output is on low end even with all of that, but in terms of surviving its almost unkilable.
On a side note: I agree pretty much with Ceno about this issue, almost noting can compete with bleed and poison dots, tho in share dmg output pierce BM and lightning elementalist have highest potential closely followed by fire sabo.
I’d be interested to see your take on Acid Cadence. I wonder if you think it’s as strong as I do.
Protip: Agony mace.
Tried it and still trying, dual wield and sword and board, even with rift scourge slicer of the defiler and venomlash that beats agony mace, at least for dummy and Fabius kill time that is. I know that agony’s procs work 20% when something hits you but most things just die much before 5th hit and sheer loss of dps is higher than gain from that proc.
It is strong but I wouldn’t put it on 2nd place
Oh that build isn’t why Acid is second. Just felt relevant to the Cadence conversation.
Damn you praetorians always keeping some aces in slews
Hi ceno, taking into account devotion and item support does the same tier hold for ranged playstyle?
I don’t really want to derail this thread anymore than I’d need to, but for ranged play, it’d probably be something like
Do you think a build based on this general concept could do mog on ult?
Never tried so cant judge but I highly doubt. And not cuz I think that Mog would easily kill you but cuz you dont have high enough dps to put him down in some reasonable amount of time or ever
what approx dps would you need for fighting him? what about a witchblade with the massive minus phys resist from curse of frailty?
I really dont know, just expressing my doubts, only two characters I used to kill Mog were DW BD and poison WH, both of them have much higher dmg output than my cadence WB, judging by dummy kill times. Still it was long, pain in the ass fight I dont wish to repeat.
Haha I remember a while back a Chinese player spent like 4 hours kiting him with a 2h ranged build. Honestly if i can get the build to a point where i don’t have to worry too much about dying i will probably be fine with fighting mog for up to an hour just to do it once.
Hi,
I’m a bit late since it’s a build from 1.0.0.6, but I was curious and currently trying it, especially since once done playing with it and 85, I will be able to add a second mastery and respec for a “real” (as in not proof of concept) build quite easily !
So far it works very well (only lvl60 ultimate though), but I do have one question.
How does the Witchblade mastery you use comes in play ? what in occultist is used ? If you have either a link to the build or just a few hints ? thanks !
Hello

I am consistently baffled by the OA numbers I am seeing in Soldier-based builds.
Doing everything I know to do, I can’t get my OA to crack the 2K mark… What am I missing?
