Great build. I was thinking of trying something similar to this, but I want to see how far my current lightning-based Inquisitor will take me.
I would change to this http://www.grimtools.com/calc/dVbKy7kZ
Then start on working on Inquisitor Looking something like this at level 35 http://www.grimtools.com/calc/pZrGx6LN with at least 15 devotion points assigned like this
Only 1 point in both runes is enough right up until just before Loghorrean as they deal huge damage
After that just rush through mastery bar until you reach artifact Handling and max it out and then get 9 points into chillsurge…
This is how I’d do it at least.
Well thank you very much, I will follow your roadmap.
May the best days with you
I’ve taken a different tack, and have focused on Inquisitor first. Between Hagarrad and Word of Pain+Word of Agony I’ve had little trouble quickly dispatching pretty much anything. Elemental Storm, the skill from Rhowan’s Crown, works well with Word of pain against normal mobs, procing quite often.
No worries if you need more help let us know

Nice build but why with Nightblade? If u really want Ignaffar build that much go for mage hunter since the arcanist skills r way more helpful than the NB’s ones. I can see major holes in ur builds:
- Mana mana mana u will go OOM every 2 minutes less u got godlike gears
- Bad scaling isnt NB benefits more from Cunning and gains loads of cunning per level? Why on earth would u mix that with Ignaffar ???Ignaffar benefits very little from cunning. Just take IEE and see ur build take the step to the next level :rolleyes:
- Gameplay inefficiency lmao I shouldnt even bring this up and I bet u already know wut Im talking bout anyways… Surely u know being in melee with a ranged build is pretty dumb right? I guess I can end it here:rolleyes::rolleyes:
Seriously go for mage hunter NB isnt a good pairing for inquisitor. Besides the last time I check there is no Cold converter in the FOI skill line so… There u go. Nice buld definitely a 3/10 ;)
While i appreciate you taking the time to write a review i’d suggest you actually pay more attention to what the build is. It’s a cold dmg build with cold ignaffar not fire, so no mage hunter…
Also what are you talking about cunning? I have one point in anatomy to kill human nemesis faster. The build is fine as it is.
About what you said with melee and ranged…no comment…I guess you never played any build using a channeling skill
1 build, 1 fuckn’ build and you’re having so much headache with noobs and trolls. Can’t say I envy you
Play the game first, not this build in particular but any build. Your comment reflects your lack of knowledge regarding this game
There has certainly been an influx of “helpful” and troll posts since the expac launch. I give this one a 5/7.
On topic, nice build. I am curious what you think about the proc on the reign of ice and fire ring? Don’t have it myself yet, how does it stack up to the epic elemental balance set?
In my opinion I&F ring is inferior to Elemental Balance due to a unique terrain limitation mechanic to the ring
It’s good for flat surfaces, and good when you’re stationary. This build might be able to use it since ray gun users need to remain stationary
Both procs thrive on flat surface, and both expand their radius if uninterrupted by terrain.
The difference is that:
- fire&&ice procs a bit farther from you
- It has no CD…this makes it crazy
- You get it with a single item which is a big deal as well. Heck you can wear two
Not so sure about the terrain thing, pre-expac I used it against the Queen and procs followed me fine every where I went
I&F rings on the other hand stop the moment I am in motion
You could be right. The thing is that reign procs so much and so wide that them not following you is not noticeable.
It’s an aquired taste no doubt. When i first tried it i was like…meh wtf is this, but after I used it more I began to see it’s power.
Think about this. Even if they don’t follow you or proc too wide etc, when they proc they hit your enemy at least once, and since it has no CD it can machinegun any target(s) in front of you.
Ah yes, I don’t doubt their usage in flat crucible arenas and in 1v1 vanilla boss fights
But I just would like to point out that I&F has a shorter range than Balance Rings
It doesn’t suit my playstyle but I can see why you think they’re good, which is why I said in my reply to that guy that ray gun builds can use it since their job is to stand still
Naturally one can use them on other build types should they get used to it. You’re correct, it indeed is an acquired taste
I might never use them but I think that item signifies unique mechanics in game so shouldn’t ever be re-designed
Btw, off-topic
If a skill mod adds 100 Aether damage to AAR and then I pick the Chaos Transmuter. Would the 100 extra aether damage be converted as well?
Same question for item based conversion
I have a skill mod that adds 100 Cold damage to Fire Strike and now I use Warpfire. Would it convert Fire Strike’s Skill Mod damage as well?
Warpfire I’d say yes, but transmuter works on what the main skill gives. Idk if transmuter would work. Like, if I use Farth’s chube and ignaffar gloves, i kinda doubt the flat burn mod gets turned into frostburn.
But if i use warpfire and mageslayer gloves for example, part of the cold dmg in that elemental mod should be turned to fire. Something i plan to do on mageslayer btw Thinking of replacing Flamestrife dagger with warpfire. Boh work very well and it depends very much on what off-hand you plan to use
Hmm thanks, I currently lack enough skill mod items to try this which is why I couldn’t see it for myself
This is helpful, much appreciated
how do you get the pants and boots? MI’s seems really hard to farm
Boots are Crafted vie a recipe. Pants are from a new Chtonian Nemesis called Grava’thul.
In xpac Mi’s drop a lot more and with better affixes. You will get a useful pair of pants a lot quicker than before
Boots, with luck. Or if you have thousands of scraps etc which most of people probably don’t have. Farming a certain nemesis boss to get it’s MI with certain affixes has never made sense to me. I’ve done it quite a bit before expansion without luck, but now when i think of my chances i wouldn’t like to bother anymore. The only annoying thind about gd loots mechanics that i can think of. Kind of reminds me of vanilla d3 where you could not get anything without trading
It sure is getting very grindy for a single player game.
MIs are never an issue, guides using them show the BiS equipment. You can always drop MIs

That might not even be optimum since it was done in minutes^
