Wouldn’t matter, kill time would be increased. They have zero reason to do so imo since only specific builds kill this guy (as intended), other builds probably can with extreme optimization but it’ll be like playing Grim Souls
Stubid question, but why bind Shield Wall to War Cry? With only one War Cry every 8 seconds and Shield Wall only having a 25% proc chance it’s uptime would seem rather low.
Not 25%. With War Cry bound on it, it procs EVERY time war Cry is activated if not on cooldown. It’s the best skill to use in conjucture.
lol
Grim Souls…
Is 7k armor your minimum threshold to face the Ravager? it’s a bit steep even for my tank. Would love to give this a go on my Warder as his final challenge in Ultimate before i retire him. Also want to do this before this guy gets buffed
You need stoneguard set and devo/components for such armor
I actually have an even better version posted. Fevered RAvager 5:30 min kill:p
http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=60936
@Kobal. War Cry 100% chance to proc Wall. It’s the best way
Is this a hidden feature of War Cry? Or some general game mechanic I am not aware of yet?
devotion proc chance is related to skill CD duration. 6-7 Cd is pretty much 100% on any devo
Faced the Flesh version of this guy in Elite for the first time to get a feel of how he would be like, before I try in ultimate… at first i was like…
Meh, he doesn’t do much damage. Then i got him to 50%… Then he started hitting like a truck. He proc’d my Menhir’s Will 4 times… On 2.8 DA, 25 PR, ~30+ overcapped all res, 5.5k armor (more with menhir’s wall active) and ~20k HP. On Elite???
I haven’t even seen my Circuit Break proc in the last 5 gameplay days on my Warder, not even on glad cruicible. LOL wtf… Now i’m really thinking twice on facing him on Ultimate :eek: Does he scale much on Ultimate? I mean, he’s only 3 lvls higher from what I’ve seen on videos.
Your 2.8kDA and 20k health is 3 hits on ultimate enrage, probably 2 hits or one shot if he crits on you
Bare in mind also that the version you fought does not hit as hard as the one I presented here. Ravager of Minds hits by far the hardest. You can check out the new link at the start of the build where i have a witchblade version wiith fevered rage. More tanky and more retaliation damage
Which was why I was not expecting this… Based on what I read on these threads the Minds should be the one decreases all resists, who I specifically avoided. But when I was fighting this guy (Flesh) I was monitoring my stats. My phys res was on -5% from 25%. and my other resists dipped as well. Is it safe to say that -RR is a common trait among all 3? If that’s the case, then how do they differ?
Ravager of Minds simply hits very very hard. Do you have an ikrix scale? That overguard mod helps a ton? and has % armor. You can post ur build
Never mind that , that’s the first wendigo spirit I’ve seen drop in the game , sick to death of farming those and still not a one except for a quest I got .
You can convert xpac materials (Ugdenbloom, Aetherial Missive and Wendigo Spirit) in each other at a particular smith.
Try killing Wendigo bosses/spirit towards the altar of Rattosh. They drop pretty often there
lol nice. except DS3 is quite a bit easier than Grim Dawn imo. i’ve soloed every boss in DS, there’s no way i could solo the world bosses here… maybe Mog with ultra lightning resist. but the world bosses here are infinitely harder than anything in Dark Souls.
probably because if the DS bosses were this hard it wouldn’t actually sell lol. GD ultra bosses are optional and loot != reward imNSho
Yes, he does hit the hardest but I don’t believe he is the hardest vs a retaliation tank. The Flesh Ravager is absolutely nuts…
People who want to solo him should know that:
- He has life-steal;
- He has energy drain;
- He has astronomical DoTs (i.e. 1k+ on a character with 91% bleed resistance).
- He has life% nukes (around 15%) besides his fury swipes.
It took me around 30 minutes to take him down because you lose a lot of DPS by trying to avoid the blood pools. To make matters worse after he hits 50% HP he will gain a ton of damage absorption so you will now battle against life-leech, energy leech + less damage.
Because you can’t stack life leech resistance beyond 80%, nor energy leech for that matter, the Flesh Ravager is probably the hardest vs retaliation tanks. Too bad his helm is complete trash compared to the other two…I should have known better
Well he is the hardest in tems of testing your ability to tank his hits. But for a retal char Ravager of Flesh would be of course a longer kill since every time he hits you he heals. It would probably take 2x long to kill him.
As for his Dots. With absorb from perma overguard and menhir devo porc you should be ok.
I suspect all have % life hits. At some point when he gets pissed off he takes equal portions of your HP no matter how you stack ur defenses. You already have menhir builwark, you could only use a Fleshwraped MI Shield with MoG’s pact
Also maybe bleed is not all and he does some vit decay too not sure
Edit: Also i didn’t make the build with the idea that Retal is the most challenging vs Ravager of minds. On the contrary. Fevered Retal, done right (I posted the link on fist page with the update) is the easiest/fastest/safest way to take him down. You use his retard strength against him
Vs of Flesh i’d prob use a Dot Build of some kind or cheesy caster. But would try retal as a challenge. Too bad i can’t atm
EDIT2: I have like 4/5 helms now for Ravager of minds, i can give you one if you want
They all do around 15% life damage indeed. From what I can gather it seems they also have 2 types of resistance reduction - one triggered by some kind of aura (i.e. “Ravager’s Presence”); and one triggered by their retarded fury swipes. This is what makes most people confident vs the Ravager, only to get bursted down in an instance afterwards.
To be honest, killing the Ravager of Flesh was mostly down to luck because even with 3 points in Vulture + complete Ulo, I was missing 35% life leech resistance. The only place you can find that resistance type is on caster gear (i.e. Valguur) or the 2h piece of Wildblood. Sheer luck made it that not one, but two Mythical Boneshatter Treads dropped for me in act I + act II ultimate.
After I got a hold of what the Ravager of Flesh can do I found some utility to an otherwise useless item. The energy leech part is, however, more difficult to handle. I say this because that type of resistance is ultra rare AND orthogonal to what you would build on a retaliation tank (i.e. stack armour, DA + take Menhir).
The helm is not bad, though I would really like Crate to differentiate more between what you get on “of Flesh” vs “of Minds”. Vitality resistance grows on trees and the active ability is nothing I would write home about. They should at least give a nuke such that:
a) of Minds -> elemental damage;
b) of Flesh -> bleed DoT;
c) of Souls -> aether damage.
