Finally it is happening!
@CaiusMartius: Good news for your classless spec
As a relative ânewbâ to theory crafting, what exactly does âreduces chaos res across the boardâ mean. That every enemy type is going to have lower chaos res from the get go, making what chaos RR we can get even better? If thatâs what that means, Iâm going to drink an entire bottle of mead tonight in honor of the gods of grim dawn patches. It will be a an immensely tasking sacrifice but well worth it.
Thatâs exactly what it means
Hopefully no more randomly 118% chaos res enemies anymore.
Time to break out the mead! Alas, it will be a hard and strenuous sacrifice but it must be done for the good of all.
I may finally stop hating those friggin Harbingers then.
gj with bringing this build to its 1.1.4.2 crucible performance peak! Nice to see more people playing vitality doom bolt. When I posted mine back in 1.1.3, I didnât see many people testing it. Guess the belt update really gave this another big boost.
I think it was moreso the reduced cooldown on doomboltâs base skill.
6s --> 4.5
Yeah and you are cheating by using exclusive skill with CDR.
Now do a Warlock!
Yes, but the cd reduction on DB related items was reduced aswell, so it was basically sth like 5s -> 4,5s. Still a buff though. The belt does allow more freedom of choice for geat aswell.
Are you trying to make fun of me for using possession on my verrsion of this build?
Wait, youâre using Possession? Now thatâs funny but not what I mean. Using OK as support mastery for CDR is definitely smooth idea.
I was and still am actually using possession with OK as support mastery just for %absorb in HC. Itâs better defensively, but for offensive/balanced setup cdr is obviously better.

âŚwith cdr?

Actually I had one vitality caster with OK, where I used HoS over POT and changing exclusive lead to better results despite that I needed that cast speed. Usually CDR is so tempting. And in my experience itâs useful both offensively and defensively, since you have shorter CD on defensive spells.
But HC is different animal. If I ever play it, will surround myself with as much as possible passive defensive mechanisms. I am definitely not mocking your choose, itâs sound and viable option.
I donât know about HC, but I still feel itâs a balancing act.
I did try possession in my first iteration of the naked crucible build, but found it to be incredibly dangerous simply because the defence gained isnât worth the DPS loss.
Quik math:
- Doom boltâs CD increases from 0.6s to 0.7s (i.e. 16% dps loss)
- Ascensionâs downtime increases from 4.4s to 7s (i.e. effective up time decreases from 69% to 58%)
Enemies stayed alive significantly longer, leading to more piloting error on my end.
Also, IMO, arcane harmony pants are the best possible pants for this build, providing:
- %All damage
- Disrupt res
- Huge DA
- Huge spirit (which means more physique for more HP/DA)
- Crafting bonus
Using possession renders the disrupt res on the pants useless, and I canât think of better alternative for pants which doesnât rely on greens.
I am definitely not mocking your choose, itâs sound and viable option.
I know, was mostly joking around
I agree, overall the cdr is better, but both are viable.
Mind sharing the GT?
Hello people of Cairn. Iâm here to show you another fun build, a vitality Doom Bolt spammer. So far I was able to play through all acts of ultimate, the four roguelikes, killed Lokarr and managed to do SR 50-51 on HC. [image] GRIMTOOLS new set up using Hourglass: https://www.grimtools.com/calc/DV9zRlWZ vs dummy ~30s vs Lokarr in Shattered Realm shards 50-51 Highlight video: old set up using Obelisk of Menhir https://www.grimtools.com/calc/b28jEBDZ vs Target Dummy (~31s) vs Lokarr in SâŚ
Keep in mind I didnât update mine in 1.1.4.2.
Gotta give it to you though, I did not think sigil would be a viable option for leech, but you got so many +skills from gear it becomes really strong.
I think it was moreso the reduced cooldown on doomboltâs base skill.
6s --> 4.5
This change happend in 1.1.3 btw, whereas the belt change happend in 1.1.4.
arcane harmony pants
Yea these donât synergize well with possession indeed. Gotta use green pants with possession or Pot3 with arcane harmony.
Right. Ok. Iâll add your build into my OP if thatâs ok?
P.S - https://www.grimtools.com/calc/lV7eXjaN
try those changes.
I found judgment to be much worse than sigil
EDIT: Also, m. cursebearer is BiS if you happen to have it. Has +2 to vulnerability
The proc is also like ignaffarâs combustion, whereas those other 2 rings only affect 1 target
Sigil is actually really powerful leech, because it stacks with each other, and most importantly - if you are disabled in anyway it still leeches for you, most important to keep you alive.
Sure thx for adding it.
Yea Iâve seen your sigil > judgement decision and itâs great for sustain.

Yea ik, just didnât wanna pick it without any +skills. Still had bat for leech, which also leeches even when Iâm ccd.
