And dude , I have absolutely no idea why you run with those vitality Dermapteran Slicers. Something like Puncturing + Alacrity should be absolutely trivial to get, whereas yours look like something that would take many hours to farm and would be worse. Moreover these Voidstones while it’s a pierce build so should’ve got Vicious Spikes instead. It’s as if you did everything in your power to gimp your damage.

So I managed to pull these off by countlessly restarting my game, but I have no idea which one is better. I have two shoulders and two chestguards, but I don’t know what to choose. Which ones are the best ones?

I am a complete newbie in this game and have now worked my way up to level 39 with your guide. Everything is good so far.
I’ve now gone through the posts of other users a little and I came to the question of whether this guide is still valid for the latest patch? I just do not want to invest 20 hours and in the end the whole thing does not work out at all.

The build is reasonably up to date and should be capable of everything it was capable before. In fact it is now in a better shape than it was back when it was first posted in patch 1.1.2.5 (slightly short of 3 years ago!). The only recent change that could had hurt it a bit is an Execution nerf, but I don’t really expect it to be a big deal.
Thank you very much for your answer. That sounds good and I am reassured. Since small nerfs do not make much then. Especially for a beginner. Diablo 3 is simply a joke against this game.

Triple Scaled Hide is pointless though as armor absorption is capped at 100% (baseline is 70%, bonus from Scaled Hide is multiplicative to that, so 2 Scaled Hides are 70*1.4 = 98% already). It’s better to use either 2xAncient Armor Platings + Scaled Hide or just two Scaled Hides + something else in extra slot.
Also I don’t know how far you’re into the game but you should probably have some Unholy Inscriptions for gloves and Corpse Powder for rings, which would help you get your vitality resist off the ground.
