after nerf to phys retal damage (both converted/non converted), and due to lack of RR, this build do around x1.7 - x2 less damage than ele version, while stay a little bit more tankier because of high armor
Holy moly. This build seems god damn amazing. I’m playing this in hardcore currently and I already feel unkillable. I will definitely farm gear and wanna push this to the limit <3
Hi thanks for feedback, because you mention hardcore, you probably want more defenses
For current version, all basic content doable and build can facetank mostly everything, but I seen my HP drop in following situations:
Callagadra with sunder attack (you can facetank at least 3 hits, until Menhir's Will proc, then you should run)
Callagadra in situation when all of your regen procs is on CD (Healling Rain and Overguard and Giant Blood). happened to me once in few fights
Crucible 170, while facetanking 3 nemesis, this heavily depends on your resistances overcaps and nemesis debuffs
Fo hardcore I suggest to max Demon Fire this alone should provides additional (30-50%) phys mitigation for entire screen (compare to unstable 15-25% from armor proc)
Drop 4 points from fighting spirit (doesn’t really matter outside of calla fight)
Drop 2 points from decorated soldier (required ele res from affixes)
Drop 2 points from thermite mine
Drop 1 points from blast shield
Drop 3 points from BWC
Also Bysmiel's Silversand is best augment for this build, and the more of this you could fit the more DA and regen you will have (all 7 slots provides 10% more regen and 120DA)
For components use Mark of Mogdrogen on boots, and one with block chance in Shield
For potions use one which provides best hp regen, together with changes above you should have around 8K hp /sec and ~9K hp/sec with blessing from SR
P.S this is more defensive devotion route (3.8k armor and 3.2k DA)
Thanks man. I will definitely go that route, looks awesome. I’m nearly done with normal and having a blast with this guy. I already feel quite tanky since I picked up Menhir’s xD
This version for Commando (prioritize resistances on green gear) Commando, Level 100 (GD 1.2.1.0) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator. Sadly, it’s just weaker version of Shaman, still should be tanky enough for hardcore to farm all endgame gear. I don’t have pre Champion of the light guide, because there no point to play retal until it.
So while waiting for @afanasenkov26 to post a build guide of some sort for the new Ironlord Commando , I was going to start leveling up a new Commando.
But then I noticed that I have a half-way-geared level 95 retaliation commando, one that was built based on this BWC retal commando guide.
And man, in HC ultimate campaign, it smacks things just great!
While I am definitely going to be farming for the Ironlord axe and the rest of the gear, perhaps I’ll still need to level up a new character for that.
Because this napalm BWC spam is really fun too!
I wonder if there’s new gear/changes in the FoA expansion that might make this build even better.
Sweet, thanks a lot!
This new version got me a bunch of things to farm for
And very much looking forward to seeing the more expensive version.
Since I love the high health regen for sustain, and the fire carpet bombing of BWC, I’ll very likely put in the time to farm and try and take the build to it’s maximum potential, whatever that might be.
i will start with one that not needed any specific ascended affixes, and if you can get correct one switch to dryad version.
The problem with dryad that it helps only in very specific situations, when you can’t fully out regen, for example when you swarmed by group of enemies, for big bosses it too unpredictable, for example if you was hit for 25k hp, you will regen it back in 1.5s, dryad effectivness at this case ~35% which is definitely nice, but not mandatory
default version has 600 additional HP regen, so for case of boss difference will be even smaller ~10%
Hey everyone! I wanted to ask if I can SSF start with retal build?
I have 400+ hours on Grim Dawn, but still fairly new to game, since I was playing mainly pet builds. Also little note: Sometimes I play with friends, they don’t have Forgotten Gods DLC yet, so we’re all playing basic game + Ashes of Malmouth.
