  • [Melee] [1.2.1.6] Blademaster
    • Damage: Pierce, Bleeding
    • Active Skills: Blade Arc, Ring of Steel, Cadence

Introduction

Hello everyone, today, I want to share one of my experimental unconventional GD builds with you. These builds are often labeled as weird, bad, unoptimized, or unusual by others, but I have a deep appreciation for them nonetheless. Not every character needs to be an overpowered Conjurer or Warlord. I enjoy experimenting with different builds and classes to see what unique outcomes I can achieve. If you consider that you can improve the build, then you can recreate it and modify it as much as you want.

I was curious if i can main 2 different damage types, Piercing and Bleeding damage, in theory if we have high amount of % and flat damage to both types and % resistance reduction we can obtain obscenely high amounts of damage.

Build

I have decided to use items that support both Bleeding and Piercing, regrettably there are not many Hybrid items for Pierce/Bleeding.

I have used two Mythical Bloodsong for its high bleeding damage, +1 to Nightblade and Modifiers to the skills.

The Mythical Whisperer of Secrets for its modifiers, regretably it doesnt have +1 to all skills making this item below average, but i dont have many options, there is the Goredrinker’s Mask but it supports only the Soldier, i want Blademaster specifically, and the set is a pain in the butt to farm in SR, the second option is Bloodrager’s Endless Frenzy but its Physical/Bleed, i want Pierce/Bleed Hybrid.

I have used the Mythical Bloodrager’s Gem from the Bloodrager’s Endless Frenzy set, its modifiers to Blade Arc and the Ring of Steel are too good to pass, +1 to both NB and Soldier with a small drawback that it doesnt grant % pierce damage.

The Mythical Vileblood Mantle is a Hybrid item that supports both Piercing and Bleeding but the bonuses it grants are below average, no physical resistance, small HP bonus, no CC resitance, i bet you could find a better MI Nemesis Shoulders, but i have no free time to farm.

The other items like Mythical Korvoran’s Chestguard or Mythical Windshear Greaves are good neutral Pierce/Bleeding items.

I have used the Mythical Chausses of Barbaros, it doesn’t grant %Piercing Damage, but it has Battlecry skill which increases all damage death and attack speed, the cooldown is low, and the duration is decent.

I used a Cronley’s Signet because this build lacks resistances. If I could, I would use the Bladetwister Signet

I have decided to use the Behemoth + Lizard constellations to bolster my regen, i know that i have little HP regen, the only sources are Veterancy and Pneumatic Burst, even with the Constellations my basic HP regen is 1480/s which is not much, and 3400/s with Behemoth on, but decided to take it because in such a Hybrid build I would have little flat Piercing damage so relying on Life Leech only is risky.

I also used 2 Titan Plating on purpose even though i dont need the Piercing resistance, its for stacking armor, with them, i have 4300 armor, i think its worth it.

YT Vids:

Main campaign bosses, Hidden Path bosses, Beast Nemesis Cuba, Loghorrean, Marcell, Korvaak

Dungeons, all of 'em. Steps of Torment + Moosi Nemesis, Port Valbury + Valdaran Nemesis, Bastion of Chaos + Benn Nemesis + Grava, Ancient Grove + Almost died to Gargaboll’s flowers, not to the boss, to his spawns, can you imagine that… sheeeh, it was a good idea to grab the Turtle constellation, with it i still had 3k hp + 6.1k Barrier.

Super Bosses: Lokarr approximately ~30 sec kill, Mogdrogen ~3 minutes and 44 seconds, Ravager roughly in ~5 minutes and 39 seconds, Callagadra ~4 minutes and 8 seconds.

TLDR: I cannot say that the build is bad, but it feels like a 1 damage type build like pure Bleed or Pure Piercing will still outperform this character.

Still…it was a fun experience, the build can be tailored a bit further, finding a good chest piece with % physical resistance would be a good idea just like a better shoulder piece, also the build has much less pierce damage that I have anticipated, maybe something like Nightclaw can show better results, it has more Flat Pierce damage and on top of that also has Bleeding dot.
