Ashes of Malmouth Bestiary (SPOILERS)

For me, the beautiful environment and interesting and varied monsters we face are one of the reasons that elevates this game (and Titan Quest) above many other ARPGs (like PoE and the tons of variants on humans it uses).
I have not yet seen a post listing the new creatures and Hero and Boss monsters you encounter, so I decided to put them together in a post with short descriptions of what my observations showed their abilities are (with the Viewer/Editor not yet showing expansion content, can’t really check otherwise). Feel free to correct me or share any Heroes/Bosses I missed!
Due to the large list and picture limit, will be posting them thematically.

Let’s start with the first “faction” you encounter, the Ugdenbog Cannibals. Despite the cool name, no they are not a baseball team, they just want to eat you. And they won’t wait for fava beans.
An important note - they are humans, but the other Ugdenbog monsters will not attack them. They are also the only human enemy in the game that does not seem to belong to a faction. (Barrowholm is not affiliated with the Fleshcrazed, or so they say).

Ugdenbog Cannibal - Fleshcrazed (Human, Common)

They are just basic melee guys and gals. I think they might have a passive skill that gives them a bloody aura (hence, extra bleeding damage?) but not sure.

Ugdenbog Cannibal - Bloodsinger (Human, Champion)

Despite having pistols, they never use them - instead they are shooting bloody projectiles that inflict bleed damage. They also have a bloody aura/buff for surrounding Fleshcrazed, and a green aura that explodes when they die, and regardless of gender, make the girliest screams ever when they die. If you leave them alive for long enough, they will shoot special projectiles that entrap you similar to Blade Trap, albeit the trap is composed of bones and vines. They can drop Rare Monster Infrequent pistols, the Ugdenbog Howler which does Vitality damage and adds bonuses to Devouring Swarm, and the Ugenbog Venom Launcher which does poison damage and modified Deadly Aim.

Ugdenbog Cannibal - Wraithspeaker (Human, Champion)

These are the thankfully rather rare leaders of the Cannibals - they are surrounded by what seems to be the Necromancer Skill Spectral Binding. They shoot blood projectiles, and their most annoying skill is a modified Reap Spirit - which does Vitality damage and summons an Ancient Wraith right next to you. They can drop the same Monster Infrequent pistols as Bloodsingers, but can also drop the same Off-Hand items that Wraiths can - the Bound Wraith increases the lifetime and power of the Primal Spirit, while the Enslaved Wraith adds to lightning damage and decreases resistance against the Storm Box of Elgoloth…

Avris Marrowill (Human, Unique)

A Unique cannibal hero, she can always be found in the attic below the abandoned cabins in the Gloomwald. She attacks at range with bleeding projectiles, a blood nova, and can also summon a pack of 3 Ancient Wraiths to her side.
As of patch 10.4.1, it seems that all Cannibal Heroes can drop the following Monster Infrequent crossbows:
Ugdenbog Arcaneweaver - adds pass-through and elemental damage to Fire Strike and does elemental damage,
Ugdenbog Boltthrower - turns Cadence physical damage to piercing.

Bellia Everthirst - Vampiric (Human, Hero)

She has a life draining aura, vitality nova, and life leech - not kidding, she can regenerate half her HP in one hit, often.

Ignafius Mageblood - Arcane (Human, Hero)

Like other Arcane heroes, he can shoot a purple orb that can remove your buffs, so beware!

Javos Bonesplitter (Human, Hero)

I honestly don’t much recall what skills he did have, I think mostly the same as a Wraithspeaker.

Tollia Splittongue (Human, Hero)

She has a bleed damage aura, and bleeding projectiles, I think.

Next part, Wrecthes! Coming soon.

Continued, we have the Ugdenbog Wretched - the next step of the “evolution” of these cannibals to their destined Wendigo form. They are all Undead/Human, like Ghouls, but note, they will not attack other Cannibals.

Ugdenbog Wretch (Undead-Human, Common)

These are the grunts of the wretches, can be found in very large numbers. They run on all fours and are rather fast, but have no specialities.

Ugdenbog Turned (Undead-Human, Common)

They wear cool masks and Wolverine claws made of bones which they sadly do not drop as Monster Infrequents. They have a blood pool attack similar to what Ghouls leave behind on death - they usually stop a short distance from you to cast it under your foot.

Ugdenbog Marked (Undead-Human, Champion)

They are the largest and most powerful of the wretches. They do the same blood pools as the Turned, cause bleeding damage on hit, plus have a constant aura that buffs allies. Additionally, they can cast the spell Blood Link, meaning damage you get heals them as long as you are close to them.

Allcadius the Unburied - Reflective (Undead-Human, Hero)

This guy can shield himself and reflect damage, as expected from the name.

Haldra the Bloodlust (Undead-Human, Hero)

Does bleeding damage on hit.

Packla, the Turning (Undead-Human, Unique)

Packla can usually be found near one of the houses or in one of the Wendigo camps in Gloomwald. Similar to a certain famous movie serial killer, he has a mask sewn together from numerous victims’ faces, and he can drop this Monster Infrequent helmet as Packla’s Skins (slows targets of the Wendigo Totem) or Packla’s Visage (boosts Siphon Souls).

Palros, Protector of the Pack - Defender (Undead-Human, Hero)

Like other Defenders, has an aura reducing damage to himself and allies.

Ulda Emberclaw (Undead-Human, Hero)

Is on FIRE! So yeah, fire damage.

And now, the final form of the pokemon Ugdenbog cannibals, the Wendigos! We already saw them as a constellation and learned from notes found in the Asterkarn mountains how one turns into these skull-headed werewolf things, but now we can meet them in the flesh, so to speak.
While they are Undead/Beast creatures, they cooperate with the still full Human cannibals. Also, being partially Beasts, killing them counts towards Ugdenbog Coven/Homestead reputation.

Wendigo (Undead-Beast, Common)

Like all of their kind, these guys are super fast and do bleed and vitality damage. Same as the Ugdenbog Taken, they can conjure a blood pool doing bleeding damage under you, but they do it on hit, not from afar.

Wendigo - Flayer (Undead-Beast, Champion)

They can use a debuff on you called Wendigo Howl, which I lowers ALL resistances. They can drop special medals, the Wendigo Eye that boosts Word of Pain or the Wendigo Gaze that adds nice bonuses to the Shaman’s Briarthorn.

Wendigo - Marroweater (Undead-Beast, Champion)

Apart from an impressive increase in antler size, they have the same howl as well as the blood pool. They drop the same amulets as Flayers.

Wendigo - Ancient (Undead-Beast, Champion)

Even bigger antlers, an aura boosting allies, and if that’s not enough, they can create a damaging vitality aura around themselves (similar to what Revenants use). They can also cast Siphon Souls at you, which drains HP and heals them, and lowers Aether and Vitality resistances. They can also drop the Rare crafting material Wendigo Spirit.
As of patch 10.4, Wendigo Ancients can also drop two types of Monster Infrequent swords - which are their claws, really.
The Wendigo Barb enhances acid/poison damage, and increases the duration of Blood of Dreeg.
The Wendigo Claw enhances bleeding damage and attack speed, and adds bleeding damage to Devouring Swarm too.

Anaxius - Corrupted (Undead-Beast, Hero)

Does Aether damage and can create an Aether aura, also upon death creates an Aetherfire ring under his body.

Handarroth (Undead-Beast, Unique)

Image: https://i.imgur.com/QMaq4v5.jpg
Like his fellow, he only appears after you get the quest from Barrowholm at Respected reputation, to get the hearts of three Ancient Wendigos for Ravager. Handarroth lurks in one of the Cannibal camps in the Ugdenbog usually, and is lightning-enchanted.
Handarroth can drop the Epic helm Soulless Gaze or the Tainted Gaze, if you face him around Level 75.

Ollivioth (Undead-Beast, Unique)

Same as Handarroth, he is another “oth”-named unique beastie. He lurks in the Gloomwald, usually in one of the Cannibal camps. I think he has Aether enchantments.
Ollivioth can drop the Epic helm Soulless Gaze or the Tainted Gaze, if you face him around Level 75.

Vagarroth the Insatiable (Undead-Beast, Hero)

He is the target of a Coven bounty - you can find him around the Wendigo camps in the Ugdenbog.

Vollarius - Arcane (Undead-Beast, Hero)

The Arcane is a new suffix - means he can cast Nullification to remove your buffs, needless to say that is unpleasant.

Waraplius - Timewarped (Undead-Beast, Hero)

Has an aura that slows you and speeds up allies.

Yuvolloth (Undead-Beast, Unique)

Last of the unique Wendigos for the Barrowholm faction quest, he too lurks in the Ugdenbog Cannibal camps. He does fire damage and summons flaming tornados.
Same as his friends, Yuvolloth can drop the Epic helm Soulless Gaze or the Tainted Gaze, if you face him around Level 75.

EDIT-2017-11-10: Added links to monster infrequents Wraiths drop.
Last but not least amongst the members of the Ugdenbog Cannibal Cult are the Wraiths. Based on their looks, I assume these guys are what
happens when Wendigos die and come back as ghosts? At any rate, they can appear anywhere in the Gloomwald and Ugdenbog, often rising out from the ground eerily.
Despite being undead, they get on well with other Wendigo Cult humans, and actually count as Beasts when it comes to Ugdenbog Coven/Homestead reputation.

Wraith (Undead, Common)

Not only do Wraiths often appear out of the ground, they can (and will) disappear into thin air when they are a short distance from you - similar to Haunted Nobles, but unlike those, Wraiths will raise their arms and generate a red energy field upon manifesting, giving you time to evade. They curse you with a de-buff that reduces Aether, Elemental and Vitality resistance… the latter particularly painful given how they often travel with Wendigos.

Spiteful Wraith (Undead, Champion)

These things are not just larger and stronger, but curse you with another de-buff apart from the one regular Wraiths do. This one reduces your Physical resistance and damage.
Spiteful - and Ancient- Wraiths can drop some useful Monster Infrequent Off-hand items. The Bound Wraith increases the lifetime and power of the Primal Spirit, while the Enslaved Wraith adds to lightning damage and decreases resistance against the Storm Box of Elgoloth.

Ancient Wraith (Undead, Champion)

I have so far, only encountered these when being conjured by the Ugdenbog Cannibal Wraithspeakers via their Reap Spirit skill, but I assume on Elite/Ultimate they become more common naturally, too. Ancient Wraiths are deadly not just do to their Vitality Decay, but because they can Petrify your character for a few seconds with their gaze.
Ancient Wraiths - and Wraith Heroes - can drop Wendigo Spirit crafting materials.

Arcanom the Soulthief (Undead, Hero)

I often ran into Wraith Heroes amongst the ruins in Ugdenbog, they probably like to congregate in that place.

Obliterus (Undead, Hero)

This guy has some seriously damaging Chaos spells.

Sulvar the Endless Hungerer - Vampiric (Undead, Hero)

The only thing worse than an already Vitality-damaging monster is when it has EXTRA vitality damage and life leech…

Tildoom - Timewarped (Undead, Hero)

Oh, I got it…20 minutes TILL DOOM. Hence the name. He can petrify and slow you good.

Ugdall (Undead, Unique)

You will find Ugdall always in a tomb in Ugdenbog, he is a quest-giver. An undead remnant of Arkovians fled to this place (but still not free from Uroboruuk’s curse), he wants to finally go to the afterlife, and asks for your help. You can either refuse and fight him (him turning into an unique boss monster), or get him a Wendigo Spirit - he will reward you with XP and an Aetherial Missive and depart in peace.

Now, let’s talk crabs! Mmmm, Ugdenbog crab bisque… Though you have got to get past the shell, poison and cold damage to get to the juice crabby stuff.
Ugdenbog Crabs are Beasts, but not Insectoids, since as any biologist can tell you, crabs, like arachnids, are arthropods but not insects.
Like the Crawlers they resemble somewhat, Crabs can rise out of the muddy bogs, usually behind you or when you cross a seemingly empty area, so keep your eyes peeled. They only appear in the Gloomwald and Ugdenbog, and their assorted dungeons.
Spikeshells, Stoneshells and Heroes and Uniques can drop Monster Infrequent belts (I assume) made from the crab’s shells.

Ugdenbog Crabling (Beast, Common)

Look at the cute teeny tiny crablings! They just want to dissect you with their teeny tiny pincers. Ain’t that cute. While not really dangerous, they can be annoying because they are so small, they are literally hard to target with your cursor, especially when under the bog’s water.

Ugdenbog Crab (Beast, Common)

Your basic crab, they are of average speed and armor. Usually appear in large numbers and attack in melee.

Ugdenbog Spikeshell (Beast, Common)

Slightly larger and darker in color than the regular crabs, Spikeshells are still melee fighters, but they can also spray you with a cold breath attack.
They can drop Monster Infrequent belts - the Ugdenbog Girdle.
I did not take any screencaps of them, but the Ugdenbog Pitcreepers - a Barrowholm quest-related monster from the Barrowholm Mines - are identical to these.

Ugdenbog Stoneshell (Beast, Champion)

The largest of the crabs, they are rather rare (at least on normal difficulty). They are melee creatures and have the same breath attack as Spikeshells. They can also jump into the air, roll into a ball and slam down on the ground, creating an expanding circle of spikes doing cold damage. Worst yet, they have an aura that gives poison damage to every enemy around them, so you should target them posthaste.

Carraxus Foul (Beast, Unique)

I posted the second pic so you can see the size of this thing. Creed was not kidding that Carraxus has grown HUGE…
Carraxus Foul is a quest monster - you need to go into its lair in the Gloomwald and slay it for its heart to appease the Ugdenbog Coven. Easier said than done, since it has incredibly fast acting poisonous attacks, including a poison spike slam, poison nova, and a cloud around itself. Hit and run attacks are recommended.

Chaosshell - Voidtouched (Beast, Hero)

A chthonic-tainted Chaos Crab hero.

Iceskorn (Beast, Hero)

Frozen crab. Pre-heat for 2 hours before eating.

Mudflinger - Reflective (Beast, Hero)

Can protect itself with shielding.

Vileclaw (Beast, Hero)

Has poison skills.

Given Halloween is soon here, let’s have some Haunted Crabs! SPOOOOKY! No, they do not wear sheets…
They are Undead/Beasts, but count as Beasts for reputation gain, and will not attack other beasts and cannibals.
While regular Crabs can be found everywhere in Gloomwald and Ugdenbog, Haunted Crabs only appear in the Ugdenbog, especially around the ancient ruins in the southern part. Like regular Crabs, they can emerge from the water behind your back for a scare!

Haunted Crab (Undead-Beast, Common)

These are the regular undead crabbies. They do cold damage with their pincers in melee, and upon death, leave a cold pool behind that does Frostburn damage.

Haunted Spikeshell (Undead-Beast, Common)

Unlike the live version, these attack at range by spitting cold bolts at you that have a small area of effect as well, and upon death leave the same cold pool behind. They can drop the Monster Infrequent belt Ugdenbog Waistguard upon death.

Haunted Stoneshell (Undead-Beast, Champion)

Far more common than live Stoneshells, these guys are melee crabs, and also have a cold aura. They can do the same spikey slamdown cold attack as live Stoneshells and leave a cold pool behind upon death. They can drop Ugdenbog Waistguards as well.

Corrupshell - Corrupted (Undead-Beast, Hero)

Has the same spike-slamdown jump skill as Stoneshells, but does Aether damage.

Foll, the Burningshell (Undead-Beast, Hero)

Nice orange-red translucent ghost crab hero, has fire skills.

Goll, the Stormshell (Undead-Beast, Hero)

Has lightning attacks, naturally.

Naxen Shade (Beast, Unique)

Gigantic crab boss that lives in the Barrowholm Mines, at the deep end of the tunnels. It is an undead crab, but oddly has just the Beast type. Like Carraxus, does a lot of poison damage and can also shoot out a stream of poison. Killing it is not part of the quest to clean out the crabs, but recommended.

Next up, we have everyone’s favourite shambling rock giants, the Ugdenbog Golems. Despite the name, they are likely naturally occuring eldritch creatures, not artificial creations. Golems are partially Plants, meaning reputation counts them as Beasts.
They can be found in the Gloomwald and Ugdenbog everywhere. Usually, they roam freely, but they can also unexpectedly rise out of the ground.
All types of golems may drop rifles made from their cores, the poison-effect Ugdenbog Bile Launcher and the electrical Ugdenbog Sparkthrower. They also all can drop the Rare crafting component Ugdenbloom.

Ugdenbog Golem (Plant-Eldritch, Champion)

The smallest and most often occuring type. Like all of them, they are incredibly slow, but they hit hard and are resistant to physical damage. They have a melee skill where they swipe with each hand, one after the other, in a large arc, doing acid damage and poisoning you.
Unlike their larger brothers, Golems can also disguise themselves as Rotting Stumps, treasure heaps often found in the Ugdenbog. You can easily tell them apart by mouse-over, since they are outlined in red and their level is shown. Still, it is easy to mistake one for the real thing. If approached or attacked they rise from the ground.

Ugdenbog Mossflinger (Plant-Eldritch, Champion)

Larger but just as slow as Golems, Mossflingers have the same poisonous close range attack, but they can also slam the ground and launch a wave of thorny vines at you that does piercing and (I think) bleeding damage. Unlike Golems, I never found them disguised as Rotting Stumps. Also not 100% sure, but they might regenerate HP when they get too low, similar to Trolls.

Ugdenbog Overgrowth (Plant-Eldritch, Champion)

These gigantic things are the strongest Golem type. They have all the abilities of Mossflingers, and also can periodically summon Carnivorous Plants.

Gigartus - Diseased (Plant-Eldritch, Hero)

Pic: https://i.imgur.com/M47EtzZ.jpg
Does even more poison damage as they usually do, and creates poison fumes around itself.

Bargoll, the Mouldering Mound (Plant-Eldritch, Unique)

Bargoll can always be found in a hidden corner (not on the official map) in the East Ugdenbog, right before a bridge, though it can spawn outside of it too. He has ridiculously powerful poison attacks, what’s worse, he can infect you with Ugdenbog Fever. This works like Bloody Pox, and lowers Poison and Acid resistances as well as max HP. His worst attack is a mega poison nova that fires two rings of poison projectiles. Like Overgrowths he too can summon Carnivorous Plants.
His body parts can be useful though - he can drop the Monster Infrequent maces Bargoll’s Core and Bargoll’s Heart.

Garll - Voidtouched (Plant-Eldritch, Hero)

Has Chaos auras and damage.

Habnor, the Void-Chosen (Plant-Eldritch, Hero)

The target of a Coven bounty, can be found in the Gloomwald. Has various skills that lower your attack and damage, plus Chaos damage.

Jormundur - Diseased (Plant-Eldritch, Hero)

Pretty much the same as Gigartus.

Phanatos - Defender (Plant-Eldritch, Hero)

If its already high resistances would not be enough, this guy can shield himself too.

Swiftrock - Swift (Plant-Eldritch, Hero)

Pretty much the fastest golem ever… by golem standards. Meaning, he is just of average speed.

Titanius Steelskin - Defender (Plant-Eldritch, Hero)

Similar to Phanatos.

In case you still don’t know what arcane does - it’s new one I think and it means monster has nullification (buff/debuff removal).

Wow
This is truly a quality post, fun and informative

Thanks, seeing these guys up close is truly a piece of art.
And I had never have time to know what their abilities were until I found this post

Glad you like it! I like to collect such info, did the same back with Titan Quest too.
As I played the expansion so far only with a damage over time Blademaster, often enemies got killed too fast for me to see all their skills, so I will probably know more when I re-do it with a less fast killing character.

Thanks! I assumed it is a new suffix as I never saw it before. I killed them before they used it, I guess. Will add it to the description.

Another new feature of the Ugdenbog is SNAKES. Why did it had to be snakes? Because we had no snakes in the game before!
Basilisks can sometimes appear in the upper Gloomwald but they are far more common in the Ugdenbog. They usually appear with Crabs and in quite large numbers.

Juvenile Basilisk (Beast, Common)

Not much special about these large snakes, they are of average speed and attack in melee.

Venomgaze Basilisk (Beast, Champion)

They are the same size as Juveniles, but easy to tell apart, since they attack you from afar with venomous spits that poison you. They can drop a Monster Infrequent medal made of their scales - two types actually, the Basilisk Crest and the Basilisk Mark, both useful for Nightblades, one boosting Cold and Poison damage and the other Bleed and Poison.

Stonegaze Basilisk (Beast, Champion)

These large dark brown basilisks are mainly melee, but they can periodically fire a large force projectile from their eyes. I never noticed it actually petrifying me, but I think it can stun you for a short time. Same as Venomgazes, they can drop Monster Infrequent medals.

Aregos - Corrupted (Beast, Hero)

Has Aether damage and creates corrupted areas.

Ranaxus - Voidtouched (Beast, Hero)

Chaos-empowered.

Rotmouth (Beast, Hero)

Poison enchanted.

Stone Basilisk (Magical, Unique)

As the final quest for the Ugdenbog Coven, you have to protect Malostria while she repairs the fetish in the middle of the camp. In the final round of the monsters conjured by the ritual, one of the stone basilisk statues comes to life! It has insane poison skills - including a homing Poison missile that follows you until it hits.

Stormslither (Beast, Hero)

Stormslither is the name, electrical attacks is the game.

Another new category of the expansion is Plants - who oddly enough, are considered Beasts, a nightmare for a biologist like me. But regardless, Plants are connected by a common (dis)ability - they cannot move. That is not to say they are any less dangerous, though…
These nasty weeds are populating pretty much all the places in the Gloomwald and Ugdenbog, even underground.

Carnivorous Plant (Plant-Eldritch, Common)

These enormous venus flytraps might seem cartoony at first, but when they launch poison rain on you, you will not be laughing… They fire the poison into the sky, and it will rain down on your last location, so you gotta be moving fast to avoid the poison pools. Up close, they will attack with their roots, oddly not using the fanged mouth for that.
These plants - and all others below - can drop two types of thorny rings made of their vines, the Living Ring or the Vine Ring.

Poisonous Bloom (Plant-Eldritch, Common)

These big (rose)buds are actually, not really that dangerous unless you go close to them. From afar, they will leave you alone, they will however unleash a powerful poison explosion ring around them that covers half the screen if you approach them. After that, they too can attack with their vines. However, they are the deadliest when killed, actually - they will explode in a poison nova, launching projectiles outwards that also explode to area of effect poison pools. So, a LOT of poison. Better have resistances up.
And you thought that was all? Nope! After killed, a bloom might (around 75% chance) actually hatch, spawning a Voracious Growth in its place. That, or even one of the Plant Heroes (see below).

Voracious Growth (Plant-Eldritch, Champion)

These are almost indistinguishable from Carnivorous Plants, but the main difference is, they never appear on the map on their own - they can only spawn from destroyed Poisonous Blooms. They attack the same way as their Common relatives, the main - and annoying - difference is, when killed, they explode in a poison nova same as Poisonous Blooms.

Bloodthirsty Bloom (Plant-Eldritch, Hero)

I might be wrong, but so far I have never encountered Plant heroes on the map - all of them spawned from destroyed Poisonous Blooms, one more reason to destroy those things. This guy, as you can guess from the name, fires bleeding projectiles apart from the regular poison rain.

Burning Bloom (Plant-Eldritch, Hero)

It might be on fire, but that does not hurt him, it just hurts you with fireballs…

Sylvarria, Queen of the Undergrowth (Plant-Eldritch, Unique)

The Ugdenbog Coven will send you on a quest (and a bounty later) to destroy this encroaching bloom. She can be found in the Undergrowth, a cave not marked on the Ugdenbog map, and she has her own little boss death room you fight her in, meaning you have little space to navigate. Apart from many, many poison projectiles, she can spawn Ugdenbog Golems and Plants everywhere.

Thunderbloom - Electrical (Plant-Eldritch, Hero)

Can shoot lightning, of course.

Virulent Growth - Diseased (Plant-Eldritch, Hero)

If their own poison attacks were not enough, this hero has extra poison to add to those!

What a quality material we have here!

Sometimes we rush so hard and fast to kill these monsters that we don’t have time to see the details.

Gratz on topic!

Thanks, glad you like it! Indeed, I doubt I can grab more screencaps with my Cabalist with the way my minions tear anything to shreds in seconds. Poor Amalgamation could not even exit the barn… When I do my Druid next, I think I will have an easier time kiting enemies and taking more screens. But don’t worry, I still have a lot more to upload.
And I love the new monster designs. I really wish we had a Relic or some item that gave us a Wendigo pet, because they look amazing.

Next we have an elusive beast that sadly isn’t as rare in the Ugdenbog as you’d assume from a relative of Bigfoot… Yes I am talking about the swamp-dwelling relatives of the Yeti, the Leafmanes.
These Beasts can only be found in the Ugdenbog, and mostly on the less submerged parts of it, though they are not afraid to wade into the bog to get you. They are generally rather slow, but are capable of special charge attacks to quickly close the distance - if you evade those however, they are rather ponderous until they recharge the skill.
All Leafmanes can drop the following Off-Hand Monster Infrequent items, the Leafmane Horn or the Leafmane Trophy, boosting Necromancer and Inquisitor skills, respectively.

Leafmane Brute (Beast, Champion)

The most common and “smallest” type, they charge at you and cause poison damage on hit.

Leafmane Rager (Beast, Champion)

Worth to keep your distance from these beasts, apart from charging they can also do a two-hand swipe that does great damage.

Leafmane Rotbreather (Beast, Champion)

Can you say breathmint? These numbskulls probably never heard of those, because their breath literally kills - it is a poisonous medium-range attack they use while getting close to you.

Leafmane Alpha (Beast, Champion)

These towering giants are not just fast, they also have an aura to boost their allies, so they should be your prime target. They can also drop the Leafmane Horn, oddly often even before you get the Ugdenbog Coven quest to collect it.

Aethermane - Corrupted (Beast, Hero)

Has Aether damage and creates Aether patches on the ground.

Bonegnash (Beast, Hero)

My pets killed him too fast for me to see what he can do.

Rotblood - Vampiric (Beast, Hero)

So far, the only Leafmane hero I encountered, I am sure there are more. He uses vitality and life leech attacks.

Rotspew (Beast, Hero)

Can create poison pools on the ground and has an acid breath.

Yoknar (Beast, Hero)

The target of a Barrowholm bounty, this gigantic dark beast with reddish effects is easily confused with Kubacabra, but thankfully isn’t nearly as deadly. He does bleeding damage too, though.

So, out of the swamp, into the Void!
From the altar of Rattosh above Barrowholm, you enter the Chthonic Void again to find Ulgrim - and to cross the aetherfire blocking your way from the north.
Apart from old enemies, you also encounter new horrors, but let’s check some familiar faces first, the Chthonic Fiends.
EDIT: After the latest patch, Voidlurkers are now different in color from regular Voidfiends, also, they got a Champion unit.

Voidlurker (Chthonic, Common)

These are greenish-looking Voidfiends, however they do Poison damage, not Chaos.

Voidlurker Blightbearer (Chthonic, Champion)

These are similar to Voidfiend Incinerators, however they lob a poison bomb at you that leaves a lasting poison pool. They also explode into this pool when killed.

Voidlurker Pestilence (Chthonic, Champion)

You’ll see these glowing green fiends a mile away - not just for their skin color, but their poison aura too. They lob poison bombs as well.

Of course the Void is not just teeming with familiar Lovecraftain faces, but new ones as well. Meet the Servitors of Cth’thon, these immense insectoid monsters suck out and carry the blood that rightfully belongs to the Dead God.
They are all Insectoids as well as Chthonians, and all of them can “drop” their scythe-like forelimbs which can be used as Monster infrequent axes. The Servitor’s Corruptor is an useful tool for a Witchblade, turning Physical to Chaos damage for Cadence, while the Servitor’s Slicer increases the range and decreases the reload time of Ring of Steel.
Servitors can be encountered in any of the Expansion’s Void areas, as well as on the plains of Mourndale and at Lone Watch.

Chthonian Servitor (Chthonic - Insectoid, Champion)

These overgrown insects (well they have 8 limbs, so… maybe rather arachnoids?) move slowly, but they will spit red projectiles at you while they close to melee, which does Bleeding damage over time and weakens you. Up close they attack with their claws, causing Chaos and Bleeding damage.

Chthonian Harvester (Chthonic - Insectoid, Champion)

They can create an orbiting blood orb that goes round and round and damages you. They also heal other enemies with the blood they carry.

Chthonian Bloodkeeper (Chthonic - Insectoid, Champion)

Bloodkeepers are the largest of the Servitors, and the most dangerous. They can summon two red projectiles that orbit around them, doing bleeding damage. Up close, they have a dangerous Chaos strike attack - if you see them raise their forelimbs which glow with Chaos energy, move out of the way! They also have an aura that I assume boosts other Chthonians. They can also heal other enemies. Their most dangerous skill though, is summoning a lot of calcified blood meteors, which “carpetbombs” a large area.

Lunal’Valgoth, the Steward of Darkness (Chthonic - Insectoid, Unique)

Easily the biggest Servitor you will ever encounter is currently torturing some deserting Bloodsworn cultists at the Fringes of Sanity. You fight it in a small room, but it is not locked so you can exit if needed. Lunal’Valgoth drops in from above after you speak to the cultists. It has a lot of ranged and close Bleed skills, including blood waves, blood projectiles, and %HP reduction skills - can kill you in seconds if you are not careful.

Metasis’Mal the Mageblood (Chthonic - Insectoid, Hero)

I think it knows some spells that make it faster, but did not observe it enough to know what they are.

Rakka’Valgoth the Fleshdrinker (Chthonic - Insectoid, Unique)

It drinks your flesh! Yummy! And yes, you guessed it, uses poison to make your flesh nice and juicy. Rakka’Valgoth usually guards the entrance to the Cinder Wastes in Mourndale, which can spawn randomly in any of the Bloodsworn camps. It appears out of the Void if you go near the camp.

Yakwa’Mal - Arcane (Chthonic - Insectoid, Hero)

Getting your enchantments dispelled by this thing is not something you want to happen, given the chaos damage they can do…

Even with the above, we still did not see until now the worst the Void had to offer - the true lords of the Dead God’s minions. As they say, “In his house at the Void’s Edge, dead Cthulhu Ch’thon waits dreaming”… so the Void Ryloks stand in for him while he sleeps.
These octopus-headed monstrosities tower over a human, with an impressive wingspan. And despite their size, they move surprisingly fast. Thankfully, they are usually not found in large number, but mixed in with Vanguards and Servitors they can be a deadly combination. They can (and will) be found in all Void areas of the expansion, as well as in Mourndale.
All Void Rylok types can drop special medals - rather, their scales - the Rylok Crest improves physical and bleeding damage and Fighting Spirit, while the Rylok Mark helps with vitality and chaos damage as well as Sigil of Consumption.

Void Rylok (Chthonic, Common)

These large wingless octopus-headed brutes can quickly charge you and attack in melee. They can also release a nova of Chaos projectiles around themselves.

Void Taskmaster (Chthonic, Champion)

These much larger, winged Ryloks have several ranged Chaos attacks - apart from multi-projectiles, they can also slam the ground, directing a rippling mass of spikes laced with Chaos at you. If killed, they explode in a Vitality burst similar to Harbringers that takes off a % of your total HP.

Void Oppressor (Chthonic, Champion)

Talk about HUGE. These things are so big, you can glimpse their wings - and their Vitality aura - from a screen away. They have all the abilities of Taskmasters otherwise, including exploding on death.

Ekket’Zul, Progenitor of Darkness (Chthonic, Unique)

You will run into Mr Tall Dark and Balrog-y in Void’s Edge, before you can free Ulgrim. You will be locked in a room with him, which isn’t a great experience given all his various area of effect fire damage spells such as fissures and meteors. He has a slightly different character model than regular Oppressors, his wings having bat-like membranes, for one.
He can drop the Epic Helm Horns of Ekket’Zul if you face him around Level 75, as well.

Gabal’Thunn, the Visage of Maddness(Chthonic, Unique)

This other unique Oppressor awaits you in the middle of the Cinder Wastes. To complicate matters, an Undead Unique monster also spawns nearby, and you will often have to deal with both of them - a deadly combination.

Odus’Aldos - Swift (Chthonic, Hero)

This gold glowing Rylok is super fast.

Rydal’Aldos - Vampiric (Chthonic, Hero)

As if their own Vitality damage was not enough, this guy does extra such damage and steals your HP.

Wallon’Aldos the Voidbringer (Chthonic, Hero)

I do wonder what “Aldos” means. Or it is just a really common last name for Lovecraftian Eldritch horrors?

Now that we are out of the Void and arriving on the outskirts of Malmouth, let’s get to know the Aetherial hordes that will make your life miserable throughout the city!
Much of these abominations will be familiar - while the new faction, the Aetherial Vanguard, is different from your run of the mill Aetherials, their troops serve similar functions, just… do it better.
For starters, let’s get to know the monster you will see the most of during your time in Malmouth - the Fleshwarped. These shambling amalgamation of human corpses are pretty much just improved zombies/walking dead. Like them they come in many colors and elemental varieties, and like them, they come in huge numbers. They often have special annoying powers - often activated when killed.

Fleshwarped Corruption (Aether Corruption, Common)

These are the most commonly encountered troops you will face in Mourndale and Malmouth. They are slow moving but not as slow as zombies. Otherwise, they are fairly standard melee troops.

Fleshwarped Chilled One (Aether Corruption, Champion)

Similar to Cold Ones, these cold-enchanted Fleshwarped have a cold aura that does frostburn damage around them. I think they can also freeze you on hit, though I rarely gave them the opportunity.

Fleshwarped Scorcher (Aether Corruption, Champion)

Thankfully unlike the Burning Dead, these fire-enchanted Fleshwarped do not explode upon death. However, they can create a burning patch in front of them that does burning damage if you stand in it.

Fleshwarped Stormwalker (Aether Corruption, Champion)

Rounding out the elements is the Stormwalker, who is so similar in looks to a Scorcher, they are hard to tell apart - especially by the green light of Aether. There is a reason you will want to tell them apart - they explode into a damaging lighting ring upon death, so you will want to be far away when that happens.

Fleshwarped Aberration (Aether Corruption, Champion)

The biggest problem with these things? They look very similar to the regular Fleshwarped Corruptions, so you think you are facing one of those weak things… but Abominations are more dangerous. They do Poison damage, and they can also create Aether orbs that orbit them - and even stay orbiting them after they die. So avoid letting them close. They also have an aura that gives poison damage to nearby enemies. Needless to say, you should eliminate them first if possible.

Little foreword before I get on to Heroes - ALL Fleshwarped Heroes seem to be built on the Abomination template. So they all have their annoying orbiting Aether projectiles skill.

Challdrus the Coldheart (Aether Corruption, Hero)

As expected, he does cold damage. Has some cold meteors too if I recall.

Chromallus - Timewarped (Aether Corruption, Hero)

Has an aura that hastes it and any surrounding enemies, while slowing you. It can also release a wave that can petrify you.

Disallus - Diseased (Aether Corruption, Hero)

Has poison novas and auras.

Dralgar, the Keeper of Burrwitch (Aether Corruption, Unique)

He will be the first Fleshwarped you encounter - and your first contact with the Aetherial Vanguard, as he guards the locked passage above the Warden’s home in Burrwitch that you can only unlock with Creed’s pendant after he gives you the quest to go North. He fires Aether projectiles and waves.

Vanallius the Voracious (Aether Corruption, Hero)

I think this one had Vitality attacks.

Added a few things - a new Basilisk and Leafmane hero, images for the Carnivorous Plant and the Ugdenbog Overgrowth.
Also, I noticed that Ancient Wraiths and Wraith Heroes can drop Wendigo Spirits as well.
