Valve may terminate your Account or a particular Subscription for any conduct or activity that Valve believes is illegal, constitutes a Cheat, or which otherwise negatively affects the enjoyment of Steam by other Subscribers.
One user put that clause to the test and was aptly banned, however, he later found out that he wasn’t completely blocked out of accessing his games because of a recent policy update in Steam for account access, which has now been deemed as “account locking” instead of “account banning”. According to a Steam volunteer moderator, he makes it clear that…
Steam support stopped disabling Steam accounts a bit more than two months ago. This has been replaced with “account locking”: you still have access to your games, but some restrictions are applied to your account (no trading, no cd key activation, no purchase allowed, etc.).
You certainly didn’t join this community to make friends did do…?
Mamba has a been a long serving, very helpful community member who, apart from creating and making freely available, a wonderful GD tool for the community, provides constructive feedback and assists other members whenever he is able.
Please stop polluting the recent thread list with your, shall we say, less than constructive feedback. Your shouts are hitting sheer rock faces and reverberating back towards you.
Again, I’m certain those beans are still warm, please sit, rest and relax… Away from your keyboard for a while.
Are the in-game rewards already available? I started a new character shortly after the game left Early Access and the wig wasn’t available yet. I’m not sure if we’re still waiting for a patch or if I missed some step to claim the in-game rewards.
Mamba has been nothing but inflammatory towards me from my first posting, I cannot speak of his other activities on the forum, but he sure wasn’t assisting me in any fashion. I shall stay at my keyboard until I receive a concrete date for the release of the DRM-free build, and I will not censor myself to appease your sensibilities (I love reverb BTW).
My “less than constructive feedback” would not exist (nor would my forum account) if Crate had simply done as they should have and released the DRM-free version alongside the steam one. That did not occur here, and I wouldn’t post if I didn’t have a great deal of excitement for this game, and subsequent frustration at not being able to play after 5 years.
I am quite polite to people who don’t betray my trust, and I tip well unless service is horrific. I won’t be a doormat for an undelivered product I payed good money for however.
Going by what medierra stated in the OP, I gather that it may take a week or two (tentative estimates, I assume as well) before the virtual items are distributed - and then they’ll most likely be distributed via mail or the Humble Store.
As for that, it is mentioned in the first post. March 4th, 2016… Or SOONER. Did you not read that?
On top of it all, you “Created” your forum account this month, meaning no feedback, unless you created a second forum account. And you came out FIRING at Crate saying they did not give you what was promised, but they did. I think you missed the part where a date was given.
Look at your posts, they are inflammatory, I just responded in kind.
I cannot speak of his other activities on the forum, but he sure wasn’t assisting me in any fashion.
I answered your questions and called out your BS. At least the first part of that is helping, even if you do not like the answers because of your anti Steam bias.
I shall stay at my keyboard until I receive a concrete date for the release of the DRM-free build, and I will not censor myself to appease your sensibilities (I love reverb BTW).
that has already been given a while ago, at the latest end of next week. There, helpful
Yeah, that’s how I interpreted it too… I guess I was just hoping I read it wrong and that we were getting the rewards with the release, lol. Oh well, I guess my 2nd character will have to wait for now.
There is a big difference between actually betraying your trust and you actively excluding yourself from what they deemed as the best course to take during development.
I think it’s safe to say that at no point were you deceived or misled (certainly not purposefully) and Crate has been transparent and open in everything they’ve done to this point and I have never seen otherwise.
When you take a stance against something like the use of Steam that is a personal choice and your personal choices and views should in no way be held against Crate for taking the steps they felt best to ensure the game saw completion.
Steam is undeniably the best platform at this point in time (and 2 years ago) for visibility and as a means to keep early access backers updated as they updated the game. No matter your own personal views of Steam it can’t be denied this was a smart business move and also a smart move from a development standpoint for a company with few employees and limited resources.
Medierra explained himself and even apologized for slight delay. Only one person in this room doubts that we will see what has been promised.
One person.
The rest of us have followed and interacted and seen enough that doubt has never entered into the equation.
Bitch around it all you want. It will get here when it gets here and it will.
I’ll call shenanigans on that. I see no reason there will be any complications in them pushing out updates to all platforms.
With Steam it’s easy. They upload it and it goes to everyone automatically. What solid evidence do you have that they wouldn’t also make sure that Humble and GoG will not be updated as well at the same time? The only difference will be how either platform handles it and if those platforms make sure the updates appear in a timely fashion.
You are only dreaming up your own personal horror stories with nothing to base it on. This isn’t about platform preference at all. They can give each platform updates likely nearly simultaneously or depending on their connection speed. Once its in the pipes it’s out of their hands and is up to each platform to see the end result delivered as intended.
I dislike (and I am avoiding the use of the word hate) pessimists like you. You think that you are going to get screwed at each corner, but take a risk in providing funds to get something back, but because it was not released the same date, you expect it right away, if not, it is unfair…
Think of it this way… You fund it, and instead of getting early access, you get a physical box copy of Grim Dawn… Would you still be complaining that it is COMPLETE, UPDATED and it is a week later than the rest of people who got it digitally without a nice box?
Just accept the fact that Crate will send out the product and stop your hating on them.
I have been rewarded for my prior optimism with this game by having it delayed, now I am pessimistic about things until proven otherwise. Sorry to offend your sensibilities.
So why is it taking a damn week to get it on Humble if distribution is so simple? Is humble holding it in quarantine? Or have they not been arsed to distribute it yet? You’re the 1st class citizen, enlighten me.
I’ll leave the Steam version installed until the DRM free version is released, then I’ll uninstall the Steam one and install the DRM free one as that is my preference. I don’t dislike steam per-se as I have a few Steam games installed it’s just that for a single player game like GD, I’d prefer to not have to go through third party software like Steam to have to install and activate it through, just the same as some others prefer to use Steam. To each his own I guess neither is right or wrong it’s all just personal choice.
Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to determine that I am inferring about future updates once they have everything sorted out. If you bothered to read medierra’s posts you would already be hip to the details on that scenario. Any issues with distribution platforms after that point is in the platforms hands and has nothing to do with any kind of preferential treatment that you like to envision.
Ya know, for some with an online alias of JC Denton (brings to mind upper crust richie riches hanging out at the ski lodge in their turtle-necks yucking it up) and is clearly educated, you’re a bit slow on the draw.
Cute, you don’t know the classic Deus Ex where JCD is the protagonist, not surprised. I recieved a reply in no-reply feedback from medierra that allayed my concerns, so your wish of hearing me shut up may come true! Rest assured, our interactions were brief, but I’ll never forget bond we share, powbam and JCD BFFs forever.
