If you’re going to be a 2h cold build at end, are you going to level as 2h vit or fire or acid?
or are you going to pick a 2h weapon while levelling instead of 1h?
If so, would you prefer that 2h weapon to have cold dmg?
^if yes to the above, there there are not pure cold 2h weapons available during levelling, they all have base phys because the 2 cold MIs have base phys, or the commons have base phys “that’s why you might want the conversion”
and you can’t get soulrend or Winterking pure cold until end…
So if you were a cold necro, trying to level as your end build which uses a maxed boneharvest on 2h (because it’s decent dmg without modifiers), then the conversion helps that little extra bit… also even if you’re maining something else, it’s a hard hitting 2h filler you’re not guaranteed to fully convert on the existing cold items “until end”…
If you’re going to be a 2h cold reaper/ritualist/deceiver whatever, and the end setup is using cold and has bh; why would you not also use BH while levelling or use a cold weapon while levelling, ie why would you not want said phys conversion to guarantee your weapon is cold on that attack
I don’t understand the notion that the Weapon must support BH (or necro) while levelling, to use BH while levelling/as if we ditch a high invested skill from end build in levelling because the weapon doesn’t have BH/necro bonuses? - why/when do we otherwise normally do this?

^the sole sav MI is physical, but we still have lightning sav levelling to use, there are just a bunch of pure lightning weapons available where there wasn’t for cold
(not that it would have been the deciding factor anyway since again likely legacy/thematic thingy)’
sry but i don’t understand the argument we’re having, when vlan’s original TLDR “cold weapons have phys dmg during levelling” said it all 
- and if you’re a cold necro you ofc want cold dmg, it should be that simple imo
