Builders vs Zantai

You guys are crazy. Crucible 150-170 is insanely hard for most builds even with buffs. Unoptimized or just weak builds get their shit kicked in pretty quickly theere. Don’t buff Crucible. I swear it’s adequately hard, and even hate it a bit because how hard it actually is for weaker builds (I test those too).

Discussion is kinda pointless? SR is crucible but 1) naked and 2) it’s like the waves load very slowly so you got 3 levels of trivial arcade to pass as you wait. The only difference is that it’s too random and inconsistent so you can’t measure performance for the sake of balance discussions. :upside_down_face:

This is one of the things that I take issue with regarding the devs. They nerf stuff because an extremely skilled and intelligent forums member has over performed with a spec which has been theorycrafted, finely tuned, has the best components, augments etc. and played by a skilled player with an amazing meta knowledge after 50+ runs and get sub 6 minutes in crucible. Really not the best way to gauge stuff because if they are doing really well on the spec, the average player will perform… averagely with the same spec.

Very, very nice idea :dizzy:

I misread the title and was thinking “What? Do people really have so much trouble fighting Zantarin?”

No, it is not.

Not if we are talking about full-equipped toons with a builder behind it who knows a little bit of the mechanics of Grim Dawn. Remember my “Beehunter ( ) Bleeding Vindicator”? I made her.
Easily to 150, died in 159 or 160+ due to my inexperience with Crucible and lacking piloting skills.

Would any better pilot play it (and play it “safe” and not for speed) or would I try it more often, I am sure it would finish it.

Did you read what Zantai said? And: There is a reason why the best pilots are so fast. You can´t give Lewis Hamilton or Sebastian Vettel any car and hope they will win races.

You beat me too it but I think he should read Zantai’s earlier post again. And then read it again for good measure because it clearly didn’t stick the first time. And then read it a third time to really drive it home.

And you can’t put average Joe in a Formula one car and expect fast lap times :stuck_out_tongue:

Quite right. But I am not talking about lap times, I talk about finishing the race.
(But you´re right with some builds; some really fast and safe builds won´t be an insurance to finish Crucible…I just look at some of the “piano builds”).

This ain’t it, Chef. I am not talking about builds that have 50% success rate in Crucible. I don’t post them. I test a lot of specs but make guides about very few. There is a reason Bleeding Vindicator doesn’t finish Crucible. It’s a build with no synergy, thus a very weak one.
“Finishing Crucible” doesn’t mean build can farm it.
Ask any other decent builder - Crucible is actually very hard if your build is not good. Like hard hard.

Nope, the sole reasons are in this case:

  • my inexperience and piloting skills
  • me not using 4 buffs

If I would give it to Shoot, he would make it 99 of 100 times.

And Yes, I am talking with other builders. Nobody says “It´s hard”. They say: “Too slow.”

Where is the limit? You either finish cruci in x minutes or never? 15 min?

Can you guys share your opinions on Crucible dificulty. My opinion is that it is actually very hard when your build is not synergetic or polished enough or just bad. I think there is absolutely zero need in making it harder, it’s already pretty insane.

EDIT: Also, come on, man, Bleeding Vindicator can’t be good in Crucible, no amount of piloting can save meme-specs. No synergy and no decent items support = no good in Crucible.

@Rhylthar
TBH, before you ask for making an Game-Mode harder, do us the favor and actually play said Mode properly and prove your Point instead of theorycraft your way through the Game and try to balance stuff only based on your assumption. Than again (while i overall like the community), how did i expect something different from this Community, because everytime there is an Argument about Balancing, the negative critics are based on what their brains tells them with TC instead of actually playing the Game and try the changes for themself…

#Topic: Than again it’s ironic that most people whine about Balancing act like they are the most intelligent scientist, but needs an “mere” Developer to point out the bigger Picture…

agree with everything

I played this mode since I started Grim Dawn. Every build of mine is brought to Wave 150 because the minimum to post a build for Build Compendium is the (cr-)-tag. I don´t play it as frequently as other builders and I am more focused on campaign and SR, so I think I can make a fair assumption due to experience.

So what is exactly your point again?

Eh no you can post any build in the compendium :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah. I prefer minimum 2 tags (sr-/cr-). Nobody reads threads with “can´t clear Crucible to 150”.

^this

So to get this straight, you do the bare minimum, seem not even be that interested in the Game-Mode and only do it for the sake of your Build Compendium entry, make based on that “assumptions” (so no - i disagree with you, if you want to impact / influence something in an negative way, you should atleast be somewhat invested and experienced in that, which you clearly aren’t), but than try to start an argument with people who actually play said mode on an regularly basis? Oh Boy… i remember again why i avoid such topic so much and with that said, i follow that decision and are out of this topic. Bye, have a great time.

Then its your own taste, you made it sound like a build has to complete 150 to be posted in the compendium in general.

Some do not play SR or cruci that much and just put one tag.
