I’ve been playing around with several of the pet classes (Coronus, Necromancer and Arch Necromancer). I’ve found that the minions are unable to keep up with me like vanilla summons and fall behind very quickly. Is there something I’m not activating or noticing, or is it a limitation of the new pets?
I haven’t really looked at pet stuff, so it’s possible there’s some stat that determines how close they stick to you. I know some had issues with sheer speed in keeping up and were sped up, but I don’t think that’s a problem now. Summons seemed fine to me when I had last tried, but I generally despise pet builds so I could be totally off-base.
The Coronus pets have some kind of rush attack that helps them bridge the gap a little and get into combat when they fall behind. But with Necromancer the pets just fall back off screen completely and take a while to catch up.
I think that’s just how those pets were made to be. Could always report it and maybe it’ll get changed.
Yep…they were made that way…and it makes the pet based part of the class painful to play. Same with Arch Necro. Thematic but it makes for dull game play thats out of sync with the rest of the game. The slowest pet ill tolerate is the Magma Elemental.
I just use Spirit…faster pets.
The next version of DAIL, 60.7, will completely phase out the old mastery support components provided through scrolls or previously existing class merchants. Before updating, sell any stock and update equipment augments as needed.
While waiting for updates I have been combing through everything, trimming fat, and auditing mods as needed; 60.7 will be a solid release.
After applying any updates, I’ll look into speeding up pets to keep them competitive with other pet classes.
A few days ago I decided to amalgamate all my Blademaster gear (I started from fresh in builds 42, 46, 48, 52, 55, 56 and 60) but somehow forgot the Cadence components. This upcoming change saves me at least 30 seconds of moving save files around! (For what it’s worth: Shadow Strike crits for around 2 million on humans with 0 stat points invested).
But if 60.7 is going to be solid, it may just be time to start all over again, again!
Well, I definitely just goofed. I loaded into the DAIL - Survival gamemode on one of my main story DAIL characters and yeah, it wiped away one of my classes. Going back to the main story I was able to re-choose the class, but I can’t get back the mastery points. For some reason, there is nothing in the save folder under steamapps > grim dawn, and nothing in the grim dawn folder under users > documents > my games. Is there still any hope? Is it time to reroll?
That’s odd. With the central database you can travel between game modes with a character. The only thing that doesn’t travel is transfer stash and recipes. What class did you lose?
If you are using Steam cloud saving, this may have an impact. I’m not totally sure.
It seemed that for some reason, the DAIL survival map was using a much older version of DAIL that didn’t have all the classes the current version has. I was using a Defense + Mercenary class. Survival had Defense, but not Mercenary, and as such it deleted my Mercenary class.
did 60.7 goes to nexus befor Xmas for download ?
Delete all DAIL content. If a steam user, verify files. Reinstall DAIL, load survival and see if problem remains.
Edit: I was unable to reproduce this. Make sure you are exiting and reloading Grim Dawn when changing modes or to/from vanilla.
To state exactly how this happened, I’ll give you a list of events that preceded the bug:
I played Grim Dawn the day before on this character on DAIL world001 (normal story mode). Today, I launched Grim Dawn and immediately started a game with the character I last played the day before (the one in question) and choose the DAIL Survival gamemode. I opened my mastery page, and it looked something like the mastery page from many builds ago, with 30+ total slots, half of them being placeholders, as it was asking me to pick a second class since one of mine (Mercenary; was not present in the build that survival seemed to be playing on) was no longer an option. I went back to the main menu and launched the DAIL storymode, chose Mercenary again as my second class, but received none of the mastery points back.
I’m likely not going to bother with a reinstall as the character was only level 27 as I had made it to play with a friend, unless you would like me to for bug testing reasons.
Interesting. That UI hasn’t existed for at least four versions and I don’t even have an archive of it. What version of DAIL are you playing?
I would still recommend verifying game files. Older version of DAIL messed with the core game files.
That honestly sounds like issues with an earlier version. In addition to the question of what version are you on, did you have an earlier version installed beforehand, and if so what version? There was a point where you best bet for upgrading was to completely delete the DAIL mods from the folder, run the game integrity check, then install the new version of DAIL. The transition from Davood had issues since he had his own secret sauce way of doing things.
I’m running 60.6. I stopped playing for a while and missed a lot of updates and the transition so I never took the time to uninstall my old version before getting the latest, so that is most likely what caused the problem. I should be able to fix it by deleting DAIL, verifying, and reinstalling then correct?
Yes, that’s what I would do. If you still have issues after that, then something else seriously wrong is going on for us to investigate. I’m pretty confident that taking those steps will fix your problem however.
what are they being replaced with?
also any ETA on 60.7 ?
New items are already on Davood merchant. In 60.7 they will be organized better.
I’m waiting for cornucopia and dga as they are projected to update by the end of the year.
