Thanks mate
Havenât played it yet, but aside from RR and Kalastor/aegis, itâs really just the better exclusive on Oathkeeper imo. Crit > OA for me.
Can someone send me a link with a well built Warlord Octavius?
I can send you a link but well-built new builds wonât exist as of yet unless itâs from a Praetorian. Itâs the second day of the expansion ffs.
I totally agree. The thing that makes Grim Dawn shine above d3 and PoE is the content. We farm in the world, using an awesome handcrafted map, with cool bosses.
Not some random generic rift in d3 and map in PoE, with uninteresting layout and bosses.
On the plus side, having it as a side content instead of the ONLY content like in the other 2 games, isnt that bad.
I mean its nice that we have these, but 95% of discussions here often revolves around how to perform well in them.

Ok, send me please
Can someone explain to me why crit is so good? Like, if youâre OA is high enough, you already crit for 2.5x your damage no?
Getting 20% on top of that vs more consistent crits is something I canât wrap my head around.
EDIT:
Itâs not about the farming, I donât think. Itâs the challenge it poses to builders. Itâs just a very universal yardstick of how well a build is crafted, and also how well a player can pilot them.
The gameplay itself might be repetitive, but you have a billion ways to approach it and thatâs the interesting part.
You should find plenty in here http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=81941
Ok,I am yet to have opportunity to play FG,but whatâs the deal with SR and showing builds potential, are they gonna be measured how far they can go?Itâs interesting to see builds that can be good in both Cruci and realms. Also if you going to build dot caster, around what damage type should be?I remember in one of the earlier AoM patches top build was poison Witchblade,so now maybe Sentinel with dots, shield and retaliation:rolleyes:
I may be wrong, but I think there are several âmeasurementsâ used by crafters in general.
MC-orientated ones typically use MQ kill time.
Crucible crafters look at clear time (though I personally think clearance rate should also be considered)
And Iâm sure thereâll be shard âdepthâ now with SR.
I also think a build isnât necessarily âbadâ if it canât excel in all 3 fields.
Honestly i think SR may finally favor some defensive builds rather than full on DPS crazy clear speed. Without the crucible buffs i suspect those builds would get stuck on one shotting mobs. Im on 5th shard and already feeling the burst and have to chuck health options.
DPS can get you reasonably far on SR. But it wonât be a top tier build insofar as SR is concerned
Different aspects of the game require different mechanics.
My theory is that a build capable of taking on 170 with no buffs/banners will do reasonably well in SR.
Speedracing builds may survive up to 55ish IMO
When i see some builds with like 9K hp without the crucible buffs i kind of roll my eyes alittle. Crucible brings your hp to at least 14k which allows you to tank things your 9k hp never going to tank in campangin. Stuff like gravathuls ball of death, mis time on mad queen or alexander 14k damage meteor.
If nemesis eventually spawns in shattered realm those squishy dps builds going to have a hella time to face the proper ones. Which to be fair is a good changeâŚ
It does mean CDR binders might get the nerf hammer again LoL
Agreed. I hate building builds with less than 11k hp. Itâs not that 11k is inadequate though, itâs the possibility of running into that freaking -25% hp mutator which is the problem
I just hated the general obsession with crucible clear time we had rather than focus on campaign. That paper 10k hp i wonder would even stand against lokarr with a badly spawned green weapon (+400% phyiscal damage = dead).
I think speed clears were aimed at maximizing loot farming before needing to buy new buffs/banners.
It served its purpose, and while it is âcheesyâ in that itâs reliant on the banners and buffs to bypass the need to actually focus on things like CC resist, they still arenât easy to theorycraft. Nor are they easy to pilot.
Just because a build has the potential to clear 170 in 6 minutes, doesnât mean any schmuck can do it.
And you gotta respect that.
Normal crit damage from OA only goes up to 1.5x and for that you need really high OA to get the red crits on strong enemies (like 3800+ probably).
Crit damage from items/skills adds to that multiplier (f.e. 50% crit damage = 0.5 extra multiplier), which is what gets you those juicy 2.5+ multipliers.
In the old game versions the OA/crit formula was different and you were able to get really strong crits from OA, but those days are long gone.
Thanks weyu. That helped a lot!
