I am wondering if anyone would recommend any other builds (with good levelling guides) that are able to facetank most mobs in the game.
A little bit of perspective, I have rhumetoid arthritis so not I don’t have nearly the twitch ability of all the amazing players in the game that post insane builds. I need a build that has decent to good DPS output and amazing defense so I don’t have to try to dodge many attacks. Also, while I do have a gaming mouse, I am still limited on how many buttons I can push, so it needs to have 3-4 buttons max preferably, if possible.
I am not big on pet builds, but would love some ideas on caster builds or sword/shield builds or even 2h builds.
I do understand resistances and how to keep them maxed, but I don’t know where any of the gear drops in the game, hence why I would love a levelling guide with the build so I know where to grab gear as I level up.
The current build I am playing is doing fine, I’m just not sure if it will have the ability on Ultimate to face tank all the bosses (not counting celestials, while that would be optimal I don’t expect it. I would like to be able to facetank Lokarr though)
I defeated Lokarr in about 20 seconds by facetanking him on HC [Video].
The build uses only easily obtainable gear. The only required skills are Savagery and Pneumatic Burst. Ring of Steel and Shadow Strike are optional. With 3000–6000 health regeneration, the gameplay feels very safe.
I haven’t written a full build guide yet, but if you’re interested, I can put one together.
You’re right. Kaisan’s amulets are better.
However, fighting Kaisan on Hardcore is quite risky.
Elenna’s Necklace is a much safer option because it can be obtained on Normal difficulty. For HC play, I preferred consistency and safety over the potential DPS gain.
oh sure didn’t mean in like “bis” sense but like if the +1 skill was that significant to get the dmg loss, if not perhaps a rando nightblade conduit craft(crossing finger no 2:3 negative pierce conversion), or mogara, or even zaria?
Problem with starter guides if you already have some gear and learned blueprints is that you can make better stuff than what is in the guide.
This one I made in 2 minutes
just to give you an idea how a HC facetanker could look like, there are almost no rolls on the items, no components or augments. Aim to get max res with some overcap and at least 3k offensive ability. All gear except the boots, gloves and leggings are target drops or stuff you buy. Boots and legs aim to get phys res, gloves aim to get attack speed.
All the other stuff just click on grim tools and see where it can be obtained, like the helmet
Then click one of those mobs, like fleshwarped commander
I do that all the time to find specific gear, it’s just a pain to alt-tab in and out all the time.
Having a guide like S.E.P_Ralf does on his builds is a huge bonus for me since he simply states what mob drops the item and where. I know the game good enough to track them down from that, but just an item name in the Build Calculator means more typing. Typing is normally easy, and for most people it is simply brain function, but when every finger movement feels like you have needles in every joint, I simply can’t do it some days.
I appreciate the tips though, and I have used the builds posted under the Build Calculator to run a build, but a guide like S.E.P_Ralf does with his builds raises the fun value astronomically for me!!!
I have actually never played a Trickster past like lvl 10 since it seems so many builds had a whole bare full of needed active attacks, I might have to try this out.
I know writing a guide is a pain, it’s just nice to know devotion path and a quick run down of levelling/gear farming. I’m sure I can figure it out, but if you do ever write a guide PLEASE send it to me!!!
The devotion path is what confuses me the most lol
Maybe I can do a guide about it one day, but there should already be tons of guides posted here. My posted suggestion was just a tankier + less button pushing take I guess. I wanted to try make a retaliation build guide, as some kind of slow but steady no-brain build for beginners
Seems to me you have given up before even trying. Why not upload your char to grim tools and share it here so you can get some feedback and ideas upon improving instead?
It’s a build from S.E.P and I haven’t given up, just waiting to see how it does. Right now I am lvl 55ish and doing Elite. I did his Thunderborne build before this one and it did a nice job. I love playing these builds to 100 and getting them geared before starting a new toon.
In your first post you linked to a build guide, not your actual char… and from what I can see, the author plays HC and a quick glance at the videos the char just seems to stand still and smack things until they die. If you want less buttons to push, remove Blitz and play lion instead of dryad devotion.
Level 100 is a decent goal, but you can do so much more. I would aim for beating the entire campaigns, get all skill and attribute rewards, complete all skeleton key dungeons and maybe even add Lokarr.
