GD is the greatest ARPG, ever. Take all the time you need.

I don’t mind. I’m always fine with waiting so that it’s done right. I’ve been on a break from the game for over a year and a half now (cause why play now when there’s going to be so many more toys to play with later, I can focus on other games and come back when it’s all ready). I can wait even longer. If I’m going to get back to making overviews (IF), I won’t be starting those until the expansion is content-complete anyway, i.e. all the awakened Epics, all the dungeons, so waiting is in my future one way or another. It’s gonna be all that much better to come back to the game when the stuff isn’t rushed just for the sake of the playerbase.

Come on. SC is a completely different ballgame. Crate didn’t ask for anything upfront, except for our patience. We already have the fully functioning game with two full expansions in our hands. Crates track record is great when it comes to delivering the goods. It’s also not like nothing is happening while we wait for the expansion pack. There is a playtest going on right now, with rather frequent updates happening.

Let them cook.

The screenshots of those environments are great! Congrats to the team working on them.

Yes. I really like this one specifically:

It looks like we can walk past those beautiful little water falls.

Holy moly, if it performs similar to GD even that’d already be great for crate and thus us!

Wish I could have been part of it, but who knows, maybe one day we’ll have a Euro-Crate :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve been holding myself from playing GD before FoA is released so I won’t feel fatigue. But looks like we have to wait a bit longer. Great news, as this means there’s no need for me to hold back.

I waited 3 years for Elden Ring, another 2 for the dlc
4 years for Blasphemous 2
And 7 years for Silksong(a totally real game, who’s gonna come out this year and i’ll throw away my clown make up!)
I can wait a bit more
Take your time, from what you delivered to us already
I think this company earned the right to alot of grace, just make sure that you release is good both for us, the players, but also for yourselves and that you are happy in your own work

Grim Dawn is one of my favourite games of all time and I’m super excited for FoA but even then, there’s no rush.

Take your time and make something great like always.

Very nice. I’m gonna go out on a limb and predict a spring release. Spring of 2027. And I feel like one of my posts was intentionally deflected. I will continue to hope…for something 15 years away.

I just have to thank your team for the best experience I’ve had in ARPG. It’s the game I’ve played the most so far, I’ve tested others of the genre, even though they have better graphics, none compare to the genius of your team, who created the best game.

Like i said, i know its not the case lol, but sometimes someone needs to pull the breaks, at this rate they can go on with feature bloat for 10 more years like SC did

If the expansion does drift over into 2026 an appropriate date for its release would be February 25th; exactly 10 years after the base game fully released. :grava_yes:

Interesting. Where is that screenshot from?

Let me first say that it looks amazing and however long it takes is however long it takes, take your time as, speaking for myself at least, you’ve more than earned the trust to do so.

I want to address all the hostility towards the “release date” here or on steam that I don’t completely understand. It’s not like we had a specific day when the game was supposed to come out and Crate overshot it. We’ve never gotten or been promised a release date, we were given an estimate of a a period when it could release. You can say I’m arguing semantics, but if you’ve ever taken part in even rudimentary software development, or have ever made anything worthwhile, you’d know that when you’re given estimates, rather than a specific date, more often than not those estimates have not taken into account unknowable unknowables (that are by definition unknowable until they aren’t) that only become apparent after certain work has been done - not to mention the knowable-unknowables that are also a b*tch to estimate for.
Add to that the distinction that this is not pure software development, this is game development which more often than not is much more complicated and compound that on the fact that we’re talking about Crate, who are known for giving as much as they can a.k.a. ‘Moar’.
I don’t know who in their right mind saw an estimation of a period of release and from that hallucinated a specific date that, based on the words and language being used, was missed, not to mention the assumed entitlement as if money has exchanged hands.
And just to make this point clear I’m a relatively new Grim Dawn and Crate fan, I found the game in '20 and the forums in '22-23 and even I surmised this much.
I’m sorry to all the fine folk who are here to celebrate Crate’s work but I had to take this off my chest after all the active hostility and whining on updates here and on steam, a man can only take so much.

That being said, amazing work, the environments are gorgeous(Asterkarn road has always been my favorite zone of the game - the respite from the bleak state of post Grim Dawn Cairn + Verticality!) and the the numbers and statistics of the new additions even more so, I don’t recall if you’ve ever mentioned more than one new Dungeon, but regardless it has me very excited. I think I might’ve mentioned it in a previous post under one the Grim Misadventures, but when I saw the feature list, my only worry was how the things would be implemented (and through the info in the Misadventures I worry no more).

Take all the time you need, but new Loyalist pack with capes and more back stuff when?

Was mentioned in the announcement thread way back in 2023.
