We are not hurry and can wait for the right moment.
You can repeat the adjustments as many times as necessary and create something without compromise.

As others here have said those are more likely for a future GD2 than the expansion.

That Crate were already thinking about a GD2 down the line was hinted at many years ago.

1st March 2019 stream:

“Just in terms of the story to be perfectly honest I feel like to do the story justice at this point we need to do something much bigger than an expansion. And there’s all this stuff, those of you who are paying attention to the dialogue will know Ulgrim and the Emperor, there’s something going on there, the Emperor’s son, those are all big stories that would really need a lot of dedication to do them justice.”

19th April 2019 dev Stream:

“gachibass_chechnya_kavkaz : Could you share with us what’s gonna be in the next expansion/GD 2 in terms of storyline/lore, at least a bit?
I’m not sure I should really talk about that because I’m not sure when or if it’s going to happen. I mean I can give you some ideas of threads we might pursue. For example there is the whole thing with the Emperor, the capital, with the Sun (son?), Ulgrim seems to be a special guy too. The Witch Gods seem to have gotten their way - what does that mean for the future of Cairn? What will happen to the future of Kymon’s Chosen? That Sigil?”

The most definite hint being this.

12th July 2019 stream:

"Any plans for the NPC found in the Fleshworks to make another appearance?

So his story is not going to finish with Forgotten Gods, his story is for things beyond. Which is more of a sequel."

Take your time guys, I’d rather have a polished product than have it right now

I’m fine with any release date. Heck, push it to 2027 if it still makes sense for the company.

One thing that is not shown in the stats is modding capacity. I expect it’s not an easy thing to quantify, but it’d still be nice to advertise whether FoA will come with never-seen before modding capacities, meaning the community will take the game even further.

I find it hilarious that you guys went from “no more expansions” to “let’s make the largest yet”.

This makes me very hopeful for, one day, GD2. If you guys can pull this off with a fairly dated engine, what kind of brain-melting experience will you produce next?

Maybe I’m biased as a fan, but just keep going. Don’t burn yourself, keep doing amazing stuff, and I’ll be there.

Hello everyone, this is my first post. English is not my first language so I`m bound to grammar mystakes.

I am almost 40 year old and I play games since I was 6. I wish to start with expressing my extreme gratitude to the Developers for creating the second best game I have played in my entire life. ( First spot is for CS which I`ve played since 1.3 version up to CS Source included.)

Grim Dawn is absolutly amazing, the game pull me through some very tough times and I am back to my best partly because of it.

I cant wait for the Expansion and GD2, which I`m sure (GD2) with the new engine will be smashing success and will elevate you guys to the highs that you and the company deserves. For me you are nothing more than a Geniuses and the product you have created is very customer oriented which in a days of loot boxes and various moneygrabbing practises is absolutly amazing.
During the last years GD is the only game I play, I have 0 interest in other games only, in the GD IP. By knowing myself I will play it my whole life.

The Xpack looks great and I prefer to wait for it and get MOAR and my advice is everyone to remain patient . It will be worth it

I dont know if this is the place to do it, but I have just one small suggestion , can you please make SSF mode with a box tick in the menu possible, there are many times I consider to start fresh, but I dont want to loose all my completed Chars by deleting the saves.I`m sure this small improvement will be very well received by the community.

Thank you for everything guys, you are amazing!

Thank you for the update. Take your time guys, the wait will be worth it I’m sure. I have 1-2 suggestions for MOAR, but these are just ideas. Maybe they don’t make sense because of the new Ascendant mode but I’ll raise the ideas anyway.

1. Endless Dungeons

In think it’s a cool feature in the Community League mod, maybe it could be implemented in the base game too, like the ambushes when we open chests is already added. It would increase the difficulity of the endgame, players can limit test in rougelike dungeons too. However, they are not forced to do it. We have Waystones for SR, similar could be added for Endless Dungeons.
(Honestly I myself didn’t reached yet that far in the mod to try ED, still I think it’s a fun idea.)

2. Raid / Super Dungeon

It will be more controversial, but I’ll give it a shoot. I played World of Warcraft in the past a lot, and I always loved Raids and those hard, mechanical bosses. In GD Koorvak is definitely my favorite boss. Reading this post that bosses will have new cool mechanics just make me even more excited about FoA. So to the point, there will be 2 new rouguelike dungeons added after expansion release. Is there any chance to make one of them or maybe a third one to like one of those WoW raid? An endgame roguelike dungeon but with a 7+ (7-10) bosses each with unique mechanics, not like the current dungeons with 2-3 bosses, possibly the final boss being a super boss like Ravager or Calla (not necessarily that strong, still a powerful finalboss). So this Raid/Super Dungeon will be really for well prepared characters. (I’m in love with endgame content and pushing the limits of my builds, lol)
I aware that this type of content should be beaten by most of the character setups, and there will be Ascendant mode, so the balancing is up to the dev team. (There is no point making a hard content, only if a few Op builds can do it.)
I just love hard, cool looking, mechanical bosses. Koorvak fight is one of them, and would like to see some more.
Once again, these are just ideas for MOAR, I don’t force anything.

Also I have one question. If I remember correctly Zantai said that the difficulity of the Ascendant mode will be like the current SR Shard 30. So playing SR in Ascendant mode and reaching there Shard 30 will be like reaching Shard 60 on Ultimate SR? I’m curious which builds will do that.

Sorry for the essay and possible typos or grammar mistakes, english is not my native language.

I’m good with it being released when it is actually ready. I am beyond sick of the new normal with paying for things that are not fully developed and released in shoddy states. Thanks for not dumping an unpolished deuce on us.

Thanks for the update folks! I don’t mind the release date creep too much, updates with MOAR and rebalancing is actively done, so the game is not becoming stale for me. FoA’s looking huge!

I hope the special effects can be updated, some of them are too blurry

Waiting is part of the development process for the community and you all put so much into making great content. It’s definitely worth the wait so please keep up the amazing work! :100:

Take your damn time, I’d rather wait another 8 months, hell another year, then having a half-baked game.
Keep up the good work.

Best of luck to everyone working on the 4(!) projects. If anyone feels there’s not enough work, how about tackling a Cairn-based Vampire Survivors-like featuring already available assets from Grim Dawn? I’d buy many many copies.

I will always trust in Crate, take your time.

Please take your time, i know it will be worth the wait. Im looking forward to it but i also enjoy your updates and look forward to those too! In the mean tim i have lots to play still and i’ll enjoy my return to Grim Dawn all the more when this is released.

Thanks guys!
