Forthcoming Forgotten Gods expac - what we know so far Part II

Thanks for the details on upcoming release. I am super stoked. <3 GD
How’s about a new kickass DWL Lightning Blademaster set PLS

Anyone know the what the retail price will be on release?

Between $10 and $20 is all we know so far.

On another note…

.

As much as I like my characters to be OP as the next guy, I was wondering if Retaliation Damage Added to Attack as a new mechanic in FG should actually be expressed in permillages instead of in percentages to be balanced, since you can easily stack 5 or 6 digits amounts of retaliation damage.

I understand Crate is cutting down on Dev Streams since a lot has already been shown, but it’s these kind of questions and more I would like to ask during the interaction.

You can ask them during a stream or even post it as a question here on the forum.

I know. I have and I will.

Maybe it’s just me, but I’m really looking forward to a next dev stream, even if it won’t show or tell anything new.
Love the fun interaction, the snarkyness of Zantai’s responses and Grava’s laid-back-ness (unless he dies 8 times in a row :stuck_out_tongue: ).

When was the next CrateCon again?
Or for a smaller event: the next dev stream?

Zantai will tell us when they’re streaming next. Frankly I don’t expect one until some time in December as the last few have been more or less monthly: one in July, one in August, one in September, one in October, one in November.

True.
Dev streams have become sparser.

And I can imagine they will do a final stream for 2018 early to mid December, so they can enjoy the holidays calmly with family and loved ones.
To me also a plausible reason to postpone release and not ship in November or December. Could be hectic otherwise.

Reason for not releasing has already been stated back in September. Grava said back in August he plans to increase the streams nearer to the release date same as they did for AoM.

Correct, reasons for postponing are clear for some time now.

Crate devs do an incredible job and I could envision them putting in the extra effort to still meet the first announcement’s deadline of the second half of 2018.
But I’m glad they take a little extra time to polish, have a small breather, and then blow us away with a great expansion fresh in the new year!

If that means more streams towards release, I’m all for it!

From the December 7th Dev Stream, the Ghol’s Malice set:

Thanks! This looks awesome. And finally a pet set without a helmet…

EDIT: Added descriptions of merits. I assume these will be useful for people who level up only on crucible? I mean otherwise what would you do with a level 1 character on Ultimate? (die very quickly, I know)
Apparently you can buy these at the new FG quest hub and transfer to other characters. Monsters will scale down, so they will be on your level, just far far tougher.
They finally are boosting mandates and warrants! Thank goodness! I have been playing the game for years and only now did I get to Nemesis level with Kymon’s Chosen with my oldest character.
Devotions get a search field so you can search for terms and constellations will light up - same as on Grimtools.
New Legendary sword -Misery.
New Oathkeeper mastery level level 50 skill - Path of the Three. Exclusive toggle skill, adds flat poison damage, % Acid/Poison/Vitality/Vitality Decay damage, converts fire and physical to Acid.
THis is probably spoiler-y, so:

You can see Rare monster infrequent items like Kymon’s Sanctified Blade, or Korvaak’s Burning Sword, heavily implying thus that you might need to fight these characters in FG. Also, new Tainted and Sanctified Robes of Kymon, new Compelled and Coerced Wraiths, Bargoll’s Root (seems like a 2-handed axe)…

New sets:
-Rah’Zin’s Torment: Occultist/Nightblade themed, Chaos/Physical set, gives a default melee attack when completed.
-Virtue’s Light: Oathkeeper set, enhances Aegis of Menhir the most.
-Gol’s Malice: Shaman/Necromancer set, gives extra pets (1 permanent, 3 temporary) and heavily focuses on pet poison/acid damage.

Really happy to see the new way to unlock difficulties.

Love the new pets, playing as an Acid-ritualist will be fun.
I do wonder whether we will need to ally with Bysmiel’s or Dreeg’s cult though for augments, given Dreeg’s acid/poison focus. We will see!

Path of the three looks like it’s gonna be nerfed before release. It’s Star Pact on steroids lol.

thank you, that’s awesome (i was very excited when i saw it during the Stream but didn’t really understand how it would work - due to my poor spoken English and because i was doing other things in the same time).

for me it’s not Crucible-restricted, that just gives you a lot of flexibility in your playthrough. if at lvl 35 you’re running on evrything (because you already have all the needed gear for example) you’re free to enter Elite and go on from there.

the only thing i dislike is that you still get the rewards from quests, they should be earned imo.

Yeah, looks crazy for acid SS

I’m fine with a nerf so long as they keep the fire to acid conversion and add items that converts fire/ cold/elemental to acid.

I’m more worried about the % of retaliation damage added to the various skills.
Essentially creating Immortal tanks that can deal top of the line(and above it considering how much retaliation damage you can stack) damage with skills that target multiple enemies, essentially removing their weakness and leaving only their strengths.

Edit: And to be honest I think SS can have small buff, considering how much its been nerfed over the times its far from overpowered in its current state.
Yes it can still do large amounts single target burst damage and apply large DoT(especially with acid builds), but due its large cool down and that it’s AoE Modifier is fairly lack luster in terms of damage it’s actual use is somewhat limited.

Whew. Latest dev stream text added. Enjoy.
