Forthcoming Forgotten Gods expac - what we know so far Part II

Eh?

I like how I asked about a pet Ritualist set and the set he showed us just happened to be that one.

Compare the stats of level 1 path vs level 1 star pact, it’s almost identical except path gives dot duration, and also converts fire to acid. It’s clear powercreep lmao. While it might not end up that good because acid sucks right now, or might not be that flexible cause of the fire conversion, the skill (in a vacuum) is already better than an existing one of the same tier.

I’m calling it, one or two new items with at least decent stats and supports either acid SS or NJE, and SS Dervish becomes top tier.

That’s true but considering the oathkeeper supports acid while most of its skill are fire or physical based it really needs to support a conversion of some kind, as otherwise most of the skills of the oathkeeper that lack mutators become nearly useless for acid builds.

perhaps a better approach might be to buff star pact and also a number of low powered exclusive skills such as possession and reckless power instead.

What’s wrong with acid SS Dervish becoming top tier?

We have the autoattack and aegis of menhir. That’s already more prospective viable acid skills than Occultist (only DEE, not counting skill mods on items)

That’s another way of doing it. My main concern about what we can currently see with path of the three is that it adds dot duration. Maybe star pact can use that too?

Nothing :p, I’m just calling it.

The only ‘weakness’ I can see with Path of the three (if the current setup goes through) is that while it’s gonna be autopicked in acid builds (just like current censure on elemental), it’s not gonna be as flexible as Star Pact due to the fire conversion. I guess that’s one thing that could be a reason why they should keep it as it isn

With path of the three and all the current leaked skills, honestly acid dervish and acid sentinel will be so strong.

Oathkeeper will be the strongest mastery dethroning Inquisitor. I see that the concept of oathkeeper’s mastery seems like a combination of soldier and Inquisitor.

The former can work with anything and the latter have some transmuter to make some skills work with other damage type. The transmuter in oathkeeper is much much better though.

Misery’s been around for a while. At least now with OK support it might not be proof that bright green weapons are all shit.

I compared it fine:p

What if I told you I still leveled a DW SS WH while testing:p.

That’s not to say Dervish class of many types wouldn’t be amazing. But it’s certainly not the only possible top tier

I’ve heard talk that FG gear will be leaked to gt before the release. If true, when anyone know when it might happen?

From the latest stream:

"ChthonicSonic : @Zantai_GD GrimTools update with FG content as a Christmas present. Feasible or too soon?

Too soon. Item art’s not done. We need to get all the item art in before we can have Dammit can put up the grimtools for you. I suspect we’ll do it early like last time. We’ll have him update the database ahead of the expansion and you guys can peruse it at your leisure of all that’s coming."

If Dammit get’s a go from the developers, so probably a few weeks before release i suppose.

I like those Merit idea, it was quite boring to do every quest and difficulty again with each character to unlock everything (riftgates, skill/attribute rewards, inventory bags). However it doesn’t seem to unlock the devotion shrines of lower difficulties, is it intentional ?

I believe it is. Zantai mentioned in the last dev stream that there will be extra shrines added, so that you can unlock all 55 devotion points by Ultimate difficulty itself.

"Thewordbearer : will we need to go to lower difficulties to get devo shrines?

And that is the other thing that comes with these tokens. In Forgotten Gods we are not only enabling every single shrine that is in the world on every difficulty in the game, we’re going to be adding new shrines to the world in places you haven’t before had shrines. And that means, if you go straight to Ultimate difficulty you will be able to get all 55 devotion points in one single playthrough. On top of that, with the upcoming patch we will be buffing the bonuses from Warrants, from Mandates and Writs so you can get your reputations up faster on your alts than ever before."

interesting indeed

thanks for the sum medea

Interesting.

Is that straight to Ultimate at the start? What is the context here?

Yes. Zantai took an L2 character straight into Ultimate. If you can give a character the new merit tokens then they can jump straight in, though the monsters will hit harder and your resistances suck big time since they have Ultimate’s -50% still applied.

My guess is that you’ll need to access your transfer stash in the prison to get your merit tokens so will need to complete the Burial Hill quest on Normal to unlock that, but after that you can jump to whichever difficulty you want to using the merit tokens.

You can grab it via crucible if you own it

Doesn’t look like they’re exactly the same.

“They are Merits, similar to the Crucible, you now get to use these items in the main campaign.”

Since the campaign ones will do more than just unlock a difficulty I’m not sure ones from the Crucible would work. :undecided:

I think he just meant that you could transfer it via the crucible since a brand new character can access the crucible stash.
