I bought DoW Platinum for my son, finally. I didn’t pick up Soulstorm, but I may if it goes on sale during the Thanksgiving sale. I figured 7 races was enough to keep him busy for now.
Amazon has a Prelude to Black Friday Video Game sale going on daily right now. I just picked up RE4 for Wii for $11.50 shipped.
Not a lot for PC today. Just the two Blizzard battle chests with games I suspect we all already have. I can tell already that Christmas video and PC game sales at Steam and other vendors are going to bleed me dry though.
Do we want to use this thread or create a separate one for the Thanksgiving week digital PC deals? Anyway…
Impulse Thanksgiving Sale has begun! (based on the email I received, I believe these prices are good through 11/30)
http://www.impulsedriven.com/explore/onsale
Not a ton of stuff here, but I’m going to pick up SOTS:Complete once I determine whether or not Steam will have it cheaper than $14.99. I told myself I was definitely going to be onboard for that price or lower though.
GalCiv is also only .99 right now.
You can make a seperate thread for thanksgiving sales, but personally, I prefer to have it all in one topic. Skimmed through the sales on Impulse, couldn’t really see anything interesting.
Tropico 3 is interesting if you don’t have it yet and like citybuilding sims. I’d also advice RA3 (and expansion) to RTS lovers (who like single player, as the community is nearly dried out and the expansion is single player only), but I don’t know what the offer is. Like half the offers, it’s not available in my region :undecided:
Age of Empires 3 for 10 cents? Dunno how real it is, but; http://www.gamesforwindows.com/en-CA/Games/AgeofEmpiresIII/
EDIT; might be a legit, one-day-only offer to get people to use the GfWL client. I’ve heard that if you’re region is not added, you might be able to get it by using the GfWL client, not been able to try it yet, but I’ll try later today, once I’m home. 10 cents, lol. I can get 10 copies for the next LAN party
If it works. Digital distribution is keen to screw over us Euro players…
They also have Bioshock for $1.99
I don’t have a credit card -.-
And so it begins…
I’m not into any of the games in today’s sale, but I did go ahead and add some items to my wishlist. They are running a contest for the next few days where 30 people will get the top 5 games on their wishlist, as long as they have at least 10 items on their wishlist. Unlikely I’ll win, but I figured it wouldn’t hurt to put one together.
I was kind of hoping for a Steam-wide sale on more than just the daily deals and group buys. Some of their older titles are still too pricey, especially compared to boxed copies from Amazon.
I also put one together. Heh, I had a hard time finding even 10 games I wanted from Steam…
Well, only the top 5 are of real importance. Those are the ones you win if chosen. Hope someone from our forum wins. The odds are certainly against us though!
Indeed. Also, the L4D 6pack is on offer for 25 bucks… just want to get it for the LAN…
Torchlight is 5 bucks on Steam again today, among others.
And Trials HD is 400 MSP (5 bucks) today only. Awesome Xbox Live arcade game, demo available if you haven’t tried it.
There are a few games I was hoping would go on sale, but it doesn’t look like they will be. Assassin’s Creed II and Dead Rising 2, to name a couple.
Hm, who knows. Dead Rising 2 is pretty new though, so I doubt it. As for today, I can advice Dawn of War 2. Squad based RTS, seems more of a new blend of RTS with RPG in my opinion. Plays a bit similar to the Company of Heroes series (same devs), but with the whole building aspect taken out (as far as that even was present in CoH).
Anyway, lots of loot, a basic skill system, very good gfx, lots of detail and massive explosions everywhere make this game a must-have, imho.
I have DoW II and the expansion from when I bought the THQ pack. I didn’t enjoy the smaller squads as much as I do the traditional RTS experience found in DoW I, unfortunately. The missions move at a much slower pace and the boss fights are pretty annoying to me. Too much micromanagement of my squads, moving them out of the way of attacks at times, at other times kiting the boss.
I love DoW I though and play it along with all the expansions in multiplayer with my son. Imperial Guard is my favorite right now.
Just purchased the Dragon Knight Saga for $26 off of steam (remastered Divinity 2 with expansion pack).
Enjoyed Divinity 2 so hope this one is good too…everything I have read says it’s much improved so looking forward to it.
Is Dragon Knight Saga on offer there? Still costs 40 euro’s here.
I think I got an additional 33% off because I owned Ego Draconis…they had a loyalty program which is cool.
Ah, that’s cool indeed.
Ok steam is f’in killing me lol…just picked up the indie flight pack.
$5 for:
Altitude
DogFighter
Flotilla
Gratuitous Space Battles
Plain Sight
Also thinking of picking up Aliens vs Predator for $6.80…I was a bit disappointed by the demo bu for that price it’s probably worth it.
