but it said reduced to the thing i like ! ![]()
Dang, those are weak rolls for a set item, my bad.
We had Modal helping us with actual scraped drop chances from the game’s database and validated them by test-targetfarming most items. I’d say we have a better understanding of legit items than 99.9% of individual legit players in the game.
Figured I’d put claims like these to rest as well. The affix combos used in the builds could be seen as non double-rare bis and something to strive towards, but the builds can always be adjusted to the affixes available. These are flexible platforms with room for adjustments. There’s a lot of helpful people on both the forum and on discord. No-one expects you to replicate the builds 100%.
As an example both Korba and Evoker Saboteur gains a lot of OA from affixes but there are still tweaks if you don’t have those MIs. Korba can put more points into cunning and Evoker can use Wraith’s Scream augments or Chains of Oleron component. 3200-3300 is my target for most DW nightblades.
That is not what is happening in this thread. What is happening is multiple people pointing at how your video is bad and your take is bad disproving claims you made in it and you are just trying to play it off like a friendly game mechanics discussion.
I ask you for the last time, take down the video and take responsibility for the misinformation you have spread with it.
Which @Paikis had confirmed several times himself here by openly admitting he doesn’t know loot tables for greens and by showing his misunderstanding of what max rolls are in this game.
Ah, more slander (libel?) and just baseless bullshit that Paikis won’t admit to or take responsibility for. But it’s good that you dug that up so more people can see.

I am curious how long it would take you to get 100 Alkamos rings legitimately by running SOT and killing Alkamos again and again and again and again in Ultimate. Has anyone ever legitimately done it without wearing out their keyboard and mouse (and hand)?
I think this kind of test will wear your mental health, before your mouse.

For reasons I cannot bring myself to explain, I’ve read through the thread…
…and I really don’t see the problem as presented in the OP. Even assuming that maxrolled items are being used in Top20 builds (which, they aren’t, and it’s been shown why by maverick)…what would the problem with that be? The goal of the Top20 was…to show the Top 20 possible in the game, no?
If your response to seeing them is to say, “Wow, these builds suck because I’ll never get them!” that kinda just sounds like a you problem. Taking umbridge with builds using specific rolls is asinine; we’d have to get upset with every build on the internet, be it posted on these forums, youtube, reddit, the Chinese sites (forgive my memory), or otherwise! Self-farmed builds are going to be using item/affix rolls that probably no one else will ever see. That’s just what happens when every item can have one of 2 billion seeds (even if a handful of those seeds might overlap).
If anything, when it comes to the roster of the peer-reviewed Top Builds, one should be grateful that someone else went through the hassle of picking affix rolls that worked for the purposes of the build. Having GDStashed the vast majority of my own characters too (before becoming even lazier and dl’ing from grimtools direct), I can confidently say it’s the least fun part of theorycrafting.
And no, it doesn’t take a thousand+ item spawns. I forget who said it, but 30ish items typically suffices to get one that’s usable. And if you think I’ve only seen 30 copies of a Korba Decapitator drop naturally on the ground, do I have a bridge to sell you.
I’ll bet you haven’t seen 100 Alkamos Rings drop naturally.
No, far less… I do like 10 items usually… Very rarely I do more.
That’s not a bet you want to take, my friend. SoT is my favorite dungeon and I’ve been running it for a long time.
Alkamos and Magi rings are in that special place where you’re better off farming double-rare boss MIs than them.
Okay - so to get optimal Alkamos Rings you have to play the game in your favorite dungeon for 10+ years???!!! If that is the case isn’t it disengenuous to include such rings in a possible build that is not billed as complete fantasy?
Who is claiming this? ive seen (and target farmed them like crazy) arround 10 pairs and almost all of them are decent.
This right here is reasonable and if you drop 8-10 each you will 100% have atleast one really good pair. mind you it takes a while but its realistic.
Talk about putting words in someone’s mouth.
a) Did I say it took 10 years to get a hundred Alk rings? No. (And, technically, Alk rings didn’t exist 10 years ago. That screenshot is just an example of the fact that I’m the wrong person to be making your above bet with)
b) Did I say I needed a hundred Alk rings to get an optimal one? No.
c) Do you even need an optimal Alk ring in the first place? No.
Your screen print showed Oct 1, 2014. Why did you show that if you didn’t want to demonstrate ---- something.
This entire thread is toxic. Paikis merely demonstrated that the Korba Trickster is pure unadulterated fantasy. I commented on his video that a better guage of ‘top 20 builds’ would be to use the zero seed for the GD Stashed items. That would be a MUCH more realistic list of builds that are attainable – in fact any build made legitimately would be BETTER than the one shown so it would truly be a top 20 ATTAINABLE build. Otherwise it is just a test of GD Stash software package. In my wildest dreams I never thought that grinding this awesome game and finding my dream legendary set or dream double rare MI wouldn’t be enough to complete my character. You guys are suggesting getting 10 copies of such items?? Really??
The odds of getting any specific rolls on an item are the same as getting the best possible rolls on an item. (Actually less, technically.)
Heck, the builds I make/upload are designed affixless; they are put together such that any possible roll can work on them. This makes them great for beginners, but they’re also entirely unrealistic because you can never get affixless items. Yet still, there’s an unfathomable value in the Top 20 builds. The insight that the community provides with that list helps everyone with the design of their own builds down the line.
Just as you don’t need a perfect Alkamos ring, you also do not need a perfect Top 20 build. They are a guideline to aspire to, not a template to copy from.
