Grim Dawn Version 1.3.1.0 + Hotfixes

Btw there are now plenty of items and constellations with realy sad pet stats since resistance is gone from them, will they get buffed or?

does pet builds need a free stat buff? because that’s what it would be  - it’s an appearance change not a stat/build “loss” (since it was passively replaced - sans "bug"exploiters ofc :scorv:)

This doesnt appear in the tooltip

is that the definition of fun?

we do not have top 20 for FOA yet but in the 1.2.1.6 we had Hellborne on spot 4 at least

One of my fav builds are PS Druid with the passthru and I don’t care if it is considered top 20 or not, it just mega fun to play regardless and this FoA build is a blast as well with all the procs and shit [1.3.0.8] The Celestial Assassin - Boltthrower Runekeeper Beginner Guide + Endgame Bossing - 7s Ravager, 4s Crate, 16s Mogdrogen, 1:37s Uber N'erf

Harbinger in FoA was broken almost bugged good

@Gnomish_Inquisition What I mean is that there now are tons of items and constellations that are completely redundant now since their stats have disappeared so I wonder what the future is for those.
Greens with afixes and sufixes like Taskmaster or Of the Wild might and well be deleted and constellations like Ishtak, Empty Chair, Ulo and Wolverine are quite crap now…

… you’re not saying anything different to what i just said
your build didn’t change from the res not being there, replacing 0 with something/“+1” = free buff; does pet build need that free buff? - because otherwise it’s a free buff regardless which stat your replace it with(and there already was some)
If it’s less attractive you can respec ofc, but otherwise you’re just buffing existing builds even more without change
And (imo) buffs should have a “reason”/need, not just for sake of appearances

ikr, it doesn’t have any other stats at all or a semi busted prc

I wonder if adding offensive player stats to those devotions, items and augments would be a good idea, to better facilitate hybrid playstyle. Pure pet builds won’t benefit from those, so shouldn’t change things on that front.

Also, pet build using crap Ishtak devotion that can kill everything in the game (while using 0 MIs or ascendant bonuses) coming through - Nurgle Bath Bombs - Ghol's Pet Cabalist :smirk:

In case anyone is wondering, I also have a version of that build using Mogdrogen instead of Ishtak, but it performs worse :joy:.

I am so sad to see Clairvoyant aether AAR and fire AARremains with two beams while all other types enjoy three beams. Why, Crate? Why Vitality Clairvoyant has access to 3 beams without breaking the set and aether AAR is deprived of it? This is not “diversity” for sure, when two damage types are left without it while others enjoy it.

Imo, they should get rid of even number of beams.

There’s a thread for anyone who is interested -

I have posted there, had an argument with defenders of two beams, all in vain. I just refuse to understand why this is still the case.

I think it just wasn’t the focus of the patch. A lot of attention was on WPS back and forth, and new content. Oh well, maybe next time.

Can scion of screaming veil get the same treatment, please? They used to have identical damage numbers (132% weapon damage + 2x110 flat), but after wave wps change soullance got compensation while scion of screaming veil did not. I don’t think this weapon was particularly overperforming anyway?

Consider making a thread.

While the devs don’t respond to every thread. But, they do clearly take notice of player feedback.

A separate thread like this just puts the idea out there in a better fashion than a one-off comment. Just a suggestion, it’s possible Z is lurking in this thread so he probably already scribbled something for later on this matter.

Ouch, I had overlooked this change in the patch notes:

  • Replaced War Cry modifier for Magic items with modifiers for Fighting Spirit

I know some people say War Cry doesn’t hold up as a main skill, but that’s slander: it is a worthy skill, and… well, I suppose the removal of those ascended bonuses has saved me from the temptation of making a third War Cry build.

Thank you, I guess?

Yeah but why you don’t post this in feedback topic? I thought there is a new hotfixes lmao.

I’m surprised that Onslaugh stack is still not correctly nerfed. It should be 5% bonus every stack to prevent OP builds.

Hi Crate Entertainment,

thank you for supporting this old gem for some more. I don’t own FoA as of now because I still have quite some builds to test and play, therefor, new content isn’t needed as of now  But I’m really puzzled with the removal of pet resist bonuses in gear and devotion. This was actually a big part in pet related build design, balancing pet bonuses with bonuses for the character leading to a better trade-off thinking and not just powering every ability of the character to the max. I think this decision is most likely not a good idea. I haven’t tested the patch so far but this is more a showstopper for me. The balancing and trade-off character in Grim Dawn was actually it’s strong point. It seems it goes the Diablo 3 route now. Hopefully, you can think about this again. I am not against reducing complexity in the game, it shouldn’t be like PoE in this regard, but balancing mechanisms are actually quite important for motivation in character builds to try out different trade-offs. Seeing pets just as add-ons for a witchblade or as the main minion army for a necromancer summoner, is a totally different kind of build.

it’s because pets didn’t actually get 80 cap res, which lead to unintended dmg immunities by stacking res manually.
Since it was automated my guess is it must have meant it wasn’t just a simple edit max res, (similar like how it’s turned out to not be for enemies either for some). So it’s likely the bandaid solution to actually fix something that was otherwise more complex to fix while not allowing uncontrolled builds getting full dmg immunities.

Hi Gnomisch_Inquisition,

in my last Necromancer build the resistances for pets were capped to 80. This was under 1.2.1.6 and 1.3.0.8.

I don’t think this is the reason.
