Grim Misadventure #147: Zealous Power

Won’t partake of that overpoweredness you say?

Dude, plz… u just killed me

I WANT THIS

Sentinel poison/acid spinny spin with multiple sources of dreg eyes will probably be op.

I am more curious to see his defenses rather than his offensive skills.
Is it some sort of shield user that has no built in tankiness?
The only “semi-defensive” one is the pet which has a percentage of attack converted back to health… but… what about block or other defensive options? Will still be the soldier the to-go mastery if you want to use the shield for actually blocking?

I hope we will have some more info or I guess I will just have to wait till the first quarter of 2019.

hmm. i think soulfire should look like little tornados instead of lightning balls and do trauma/ burn damage instead of lightning damage  fits alot more if burning sand fly around the foes

i really love the mechanic etc. but this little thing is sand in my eyes :stuck_out_tongue:

lightning damage is more for a modifier or something… because if i concentrate only on physic/fire/trauma/burn (main attributes of a oathkeeper how it looks), that lightning damage is completly out of normal builds… i hope you guys consider a more effictive way how soulfire works in the endproduct.

And because you have disappointed me here is something in return :stuck_out_tongue: please dont kill me

Nn, Vire’s Might and the Rune appeal to me more out of their particular areas of effect, than sheer power. Besides, I could have sworn I’ve heard rumors that the Rune’s power will be lessened in the next version.

And in any case, before I discovered the frost conversion, I was expecting to use Vire’s Might with Rune of Kalastor. I probably will have to while leveling to L82 or so, anyway; I don’t expect to see the conversion before then, probably later.

We still have yet to see if VM can cut DA on its own, anyway.

On a side note, isn’t VM the Whirlwind-like attack? That is to say, dashing attack on a line; the spinning graphic doesn’t matter so much to me. The only Blizzard analog I can think of to Eye of Reckoning is actually the Monk’s Tempest Rush in D3. (And that one definitely doesn’t have the Soulfire effect anywhere.)

EDIT: Speaking of the D3 Monk…Is it me, or does Judgment’s description make it sound like it works like Cyclone Strike? Difference between suction and taunt+knockdown, yes…

That whirlwind is going to look awesome with dual wield!

Question: Besides Dreeg, are the other two witch gods present in the OK’s mastery?

This oathkeeper Will surely be more powerful than Inquisitor…

The mastery has almost everything in it aside from an actual pet…

Face it. Chaos will never get the proper love, and support it deserves. Solar is the youngest of the witch god’s, afterall.

The animations are so cool that soldier active skills seem so dull in comparison! OK will definitely be a very popular mastery, it is awesome already.

I fear that whirlwind will be too powerful because life steal and you can move to dodge hits all of the time. Iirc hit boxes are kinda small on some monsters and skills. Imo there should be a big reduced movement speed modifier whilst spinning at the very least to mitigate this somewhat? Also whirlwind gets reduced damage debuff when other non-movement channelled skill don’t, if anything AAR should get reduced damage debuff, ;p. Energy cost should be high for the skill for the dodge advantage it has.

Armor rating can reach even higher heights with warlord having 2 armor% skills, perhaps this is also not what the game needs?

Adding solael transmuters would be cool for the chaos support.

>Zantai shows cool new chaos damage set featuring chaos default attack replacer
>People still complain that chaos isn’t getting enough support

c’mon people pay attention

It still doesn’t have enough support. Not that many skills deal chaos damage in the first place. Chaos builds are very gear dependent. Resist reduction stacking is a nightmare. Gear with conversion into chaos is lacking. Kind of obvious, no?

A set is not a mastery, my dude.

On the plus side of things, AAR from what Zan said in stream, should be getting some good buffs, and many years ago, chaos Aether was the huge idea that I had wanted to succeed with then. Maybe that dream will be a reality, and I can just cut my losses on other chaos things (looking at you mines,
BWC )

Nice.

Scion of Dreeg and Dreeg’s Reproach have opposite damage conversion, is that deliberate?

You guys should release Patch 1.0.7.0 soon, so we have something more to play while waiting for FG.

I saw the set that gives Chaos conversion, and it is surely a good addition. Conversion via gear has always been decent for Chaos damage (Blood Orb of Ch’ton <3). The problem is (and apparently will still be) the native chaos support.
There are currently 3 mastery abilities that have Chaos as the main attack damage: Doombolt, AAR(transmuted) and Flames of Ignaffar(transmuted). Pretty low, don’t you think, when you see that 5 out 8 masteries has Fire support ?
Plus, for players like myself who apparently are hated by RNG gods, finding a full set is quite difficult. Or is there an efficient way to farm legendary sets ?
Edit: Skills with Chaos as secondary damage: Fire strike, BWC, Thermite mines, Phantasmal blades, Sigil of Consumption.

Yeah, I’m a little disappointed with the lack of Chaos in Oathkeeper too. I was kinda expecting a more balanced representation of the three Witch Gods and not just Dreeg. Heck, even a small handful of Dreeg-themed items (and even a devotion) support both Acid and Chaos, so they could have had that as a transmuter option or two instead of yet more Vitality, and still remained reeeeelatively lore-friendly. Granted, they would have had to work on Acid/Chaos itemisation a little, but in terms of supporting undersupported damage types it would have been ideal.

At the very least, a Solael transmuter would have been nice to mix things up. Just not on Eye of Reckoning, we already have enough Chaos transmuters on channelled skills. Chaos Aegis or Conjure Guardian would be nice to see.

Have you seen all mods for all skills?

Anyway let’s take pierce? What does it have? A melee set with it’s own AA, Valdun, Modded cadence Reaver tactician. That’s pretty much it. No one is complaining

Nope, but I’ll be very glad if and when Crate proves me completely wrong.
