You can come up a pierce shotgun untransmuted PB build with a pack of Treacherous Means/Lethal Assault and converted Chillspikes as a spam:)
But yes, pierce support is minimal, but at least pierce is godly if assembled correctly.

People complained, and pierce support got added to the oathkeeper. As for “you did not see all the mods”, Zantai mentioned during the stream that they would be about Dreeg, so Poison/Vitality.
I’m happy that the new mastery has an auto-attack replacer. It will do a lot of good for diversity (not that this game has much of a problem with it, but more is always better).
At the same time, I am unhappy that said auto-attack replacer doesn’t seem to have any modifier for damaging more than one target. I don’t see how it will be competitive with Cadence or Fire Strike.
Don’t forget brutallax for Pierce savagery. Although the lack of armor piercing on axe made me mad.
Savagery also doesn’t have AoE but they still do fine. The AoE will need to be covered by WPS or procs.

The most conversion of any damage type in the entire game, godtier RR and OA options, a great skillset…
Nothing, I guess.
And how does that build go?
Only cause it needs it so badly by design? Is pierce Godly OP by any chance? I haven’t reached that conclusion personally. It’s just in a good place. And god tier RR i wouldn’t say it’s less than many other dmg types. All elemental dmg types get high numbers for rr and easily applied with AoE or spread. Assassin’s mark is easily the most unpleasant RR devotion to proc in the game
Well chaos will be imo godly with Belgo equivalent Rah set. It will be Godly with cadence and other possible stand alone chaos support items. Balde arc, Chaos nades (not ideal but it’s possible). We’ll see in the end:) I just wouldn’t cry wolf atm
It’s great that Retaliation Damage is getting some love in the new expansion.
Still, I’m pondering about the mechanics.
For example, let’s say I have:
[li]10.000 Piercing Retaliation[/li]
[li]An ability with 5% of Retaliation Damage added to Attack[/li]
[li]Gear that grants me 30% Pierce Damage converted to Cold Damage[/li]
My questions:
won’t work. Retal dmg is a separate type of dmg. It would need no be specific for retal layer of the game, and would at this point complicate GD even more and make Zantai run naked in the streets, in my opinion
Ah, okay. So it will remain its own damage type, meaning Retaliation Damage?
Can’t have that, indeed.
Streets will be flooded by hysterically lyrical GazerWomen, chasing Zantai…
Pierce has passive RR through Night’s chill, passive increase through Temper and Nightblade dual wield line, etc.
Chaos has no passive RR except devotion/items. Adding it to Curse of Frailty would be great, instead of Physical or Elemental (Vulnerability).
Not having Chaos RR in Occultist is a sin imo and would greatly help.
Uhh, Death Sentence in Inquisitor. And Chaos RR being added to Curse through mods pretty much sealed the ability for that skill to have naturally, because it would be way too much chaos RR in a single skill.
And now nobody will ever take soldier again. GG crate
Or combine it with Oathkeeper.
If anything, Oathkeeper just makes Soldier better by giving it shield wps and other shield based skills.
It’s bad. Stand alone Pierce nightblade itemization is next to nothing, let alone trickster. I haven’t cracked the build yet, but I believe it will require greens with some specific prefix/suffix.

They only part that is true and confuses me as well is occultist not having chaos RR. That is very true.
Flat chaos dmg sources is nit the issue but capitalizing on it is
Too much Zantai on the screen causes Zantai in the streets.
Yes, don’t clutter this thread with your ideas and feedback. Instead, post that in the Ideas and Feedback forum where it should go.
Thank you.
Done, moved there. I edited the post to have a link to the thread.
Paladin looks like an even better choice now
