Could also be an aspect of it, like the Loghorrean was its voice. The Great Annihilator could be its Despair.
This is Norsca. With blood babrarians. Absolutely glorious.
Looks good, hope its out before or on Sept 5th, my 71st B-day
so very excited
We can finally put to rest all those Flat Cairn conspiracy theories?
Hype is strong with this one. ![]()
this ragebait went too far, to the point I can’t even tell if it’s rage or bait anymore
May God knows when.
The maybe announcement of the announcement has arrived.
That’s the announcement of the release date announcement. ![]()
Looks great. Waiting so long for this… ![]()
Sometimes I feel like it’s an older person thing.
But patience is a skill. Something that can be practiced and improved on… which is why “kids these days” are flailing about constantly. Brains have been tuned for immediate gratification only.
Personally, I’m intentionally tamping down my burgeoning excitement because I know Fangs will be dropping in the near(ish) future.
… yes. I was popped out before the internet.
This one hits hard… like a masterpiece poem. This reminds me a song “Dead Cold İnside” and its one sentence: “Winter has been winning this battle since it’s first day”… Thank you for sharing these awesome lore and pictures Zantai!
Not the update that I was expecting but it is what it is. I guess you can tell that a good amount of people are getting tired of waiting…the delay…I understand that they are still polishing things to prevent problems in the future. But for me personally, I would rather not hear anything than read a lore like this and no news about the 1.3 update and/or the expansion. That’s just me since I feel like this kind of post is just there so they can post something for this month. Don’t get me wrong, the story is nice but the post lacks substance since the great majority of people are expecting news about the upcoming update and expansion.
It just dawned on me now - Martok was someone I recognized sooner, but the name of the Kurn people too…

I guess now we know whatever happened to Kurn, Son of Mogh, after Worf gave him a new identity.
He settled on a pre-warp planet and became the founding hero of a nation! ![]()
Bourbon: “Aurora Borealis??? Here in Devil’s Crossing? Outside the kitchen window?”
Ulgrim: “Yes.”
Bourbon: “Can I go out and watch it?”
Ulgrim: “No.”
Well, we know from the notes found that they attacked from the North and the big fight with them culminated at what is now the Tomb of the Watchers.
Oh I totally forgot about that guy. Mostly because I found that Act III to be the least memorable of Titan Quest, and I replayed it the least often, unless farming for some monster specific relics. But yeah, that Ape-Man sure hit hard! I was surprised we got both these guys and the Yetis in the game, but as I understand they are based on an asian myth of basically the local bigfoot/feet.
Really liking the vibe & atmosphere of these areas ![]()
Then stop reading the Grim Misadventures.
I like them and like reading about the upcoming update and DLC.
Everything in this game is to the north of any given starting point for 1 simple (and sad) reason - camera position. Every single map thing in the game is designed to be played from the default camera position and it’s painfully obvious:
Devil’s Crossing - you go North-East and North-West
Malmouth? North of Burrwitch of course.
Conclave? Who could have guessed, Tomb of the Watchers is to the north again
FoA? Will be the same story.
Seriously, probably the only time you ever go south in this game is the Old Grove. And a tiny bit in the Pine Barrens technically. Always felt like it was extremely limiting, especially when we can freely rotate the camera. But that philisophy is unlikely to change, especially with the game now also being on consoles.
I even tried playing with a different camera angle at times for variety’s sake and you wouldn’t believe how inconvenient to play some of the locations are due to the “always north” philosophy.
act 3, pine barrens - jagged wastes into basin and tyrant hold
Yep, I tried playing camera south to switch things up a bit and I gave up rather quickly ![]()
Not a biggie though for me, it’s fine. It’s still nice to be able to rotate at times. That’s one of the things that annoys me about TQ2, the camera is fixed to whatever they determined it should be for you.
I think this was explained way back when people kept asking just what is south of Devil’s Crossing, and hoping one of the expansions would lead that way… Basically the engine started off as a modified TQ engine, and that was not optimized for camera rotation. It has evolved a lot since then, but most people play with the fixed default camera angle - hence, you are always traveling north or to east or west, never south, otherwise you would only see the monsters when they are almost on top of you. ![]()
