[GrimTools] Item Database

Why not, If it still can be bought in game.

Then how about a new category for cosmetic legacy items including the vendors, who sell them?

There are only one vendor that sales only legacy items, so you cound count it as separate category.

I just dropped a MI ring(Gollus ring) with the prefix “Nightblade’s” on it, but the item database says this prefix only applies to medals. On the other hand I crafted at least 200-300 medals(the cheapest ones) in the last days and not a single one had “Nightblade’s” or any other class-specific prefix on it. So did this get changed? Can these prefixes only be on rings now instead of medals? Or can they be on both and I was just unlucky? It definitely can be on rings, not only on medals like stated in the database.

it “exists” in the sense it wasn’t removed from old items that had it already, but can’t occur on new
mono (magick) class prefix was entirely removed in update 1.2, and rare dual class and mono class prefix on medal/amulet/chest/helm was redesigned
You can only drop magick mono class prefix if you’re on 9.8

drop tables for 1.2+ [Resource] Affix drop rates for rare MIs in a spreadsheet

Thanks for the answer, but not sure I understand it. I’m on the newest patch, not 1.1.9.8., and I got that Gollus ring with Nightblade’s, shouldn’t that be impossible then?

Are you absolutely sure that it dropped now versus you had it from before the change? Another way to verify the loot tables is to use GDStash. That uses the games files so if you can generate that combo in the item crafting tab then it can be done in game. GDStash has been used to find missing affixes for certain item combos in the past.

Yeah, I just saw that it’s a Lvl 75 version of Gollus ring, so it can’t be one of the ones I farmed yesterday, was probably in the stash since before this change. Sorry. Damn, I was so happy about the possibility of it being on there, don’t really like that change, makes it even harder to get +skills, have only medals as the only accessory option now -.-

When I search for items, I want to click on the item types on the left to filter the search. Same way as you can filter for rarity with the top buttons.

Hi. New to the game and it seems like grimtools is the primary source of game information as the wiki appears to be kinda out of date. So far so good but now I am wondering how accurate the item database is or if maybe I fail to use it properly:

I found the Ugdenbog Boltthrower via the search function and I find it can drop from Avris Marrowill. I set the difficulty to Normal and the Monsterlevel to 60 and the tool shows 20% probability for Howler/Bolthrower/Venom Launcher/Arcaneweaver/Repeater. After 25 kills I dropped 9x Howler, 9x Venom Launcher, 7x Repeater.

Including some kills from before tracking drops it seems either a) Arcanceweaver and Boltthrower are not in the loot table, b) the drops are not uniformly distributed, c) I use the tool wrong or misread the output, d) something else went wrong.

EDIT:
just noticed i am on game version 1.2.1.5 while the item database seems to be for 1.2.1.3
guess that might be the cause of difference

boltthrower and arcaneweaver got changed to only drop in barrowholm cellar after 1.3, so requires hostile with Scorv faction to get it now

ah thank you. that confirms my suspicion regarding the game version. i guess the change was to make these kind of choices who to side with more meaningful.
is it in general then better to side against factions which favor specific damage types e.g. the necromancer vs. fanatics at homestead, instead of with them? or is this an exception?
my rationale was: wendigo guys do vitality/bleeding stuff → better not to kill them if i use these damage types :stuck_out_tongue:

Sometimes, but it isn’t as clear-cut as that.

As between Order of Death’s Vigil and Kymon’s Chosen, it doesn’t matter at all for 95% of builds, but there are a few where it does. The reason why it sometimes matters is that you want to farm an item that only drops from one of the other side’s bosses. Eg, if you want to farm Malkadarr you have to go Kymon because he won’t spawn otherwise. (This is an example that fits your description - you are siding against the faction that would seem to fit you better, so as to get their gear.)

Regarding Barrowholm, the reasons to be friendly are:

  • Good and unique armor augments
  • It lets you fight Ravager.

The reasons to be hostile are:

  • You want to farm some of the wendigo items in the cellar (that now can’t be got elsewhere)
  • It lets you farm Reaper for his pants (though they do drop in SR)
  • Who likes cannibals really?

Traditionally, almost everyone has gone Barrowholm-friendly as a matter of course because the rewards have been more compelling, but Crate seem to be trying to balance it more with the changes you mentioned.

It’s worth noting that you can go friendly with them in normal, get to revered, then go hostile in ultimate. This isn’t as grindy as it sounds, provided you have a warrant (ie, not on first char). If you do this, you can stock up on their armor augments before going hostile. You still can’t fight ultimate Ravager though.

sry to bother if it’s just me missing something
but when i put in a max aps value it always returns 0 results

and min values seem to do nothing, since it will display anything as long as it’s set under 2, but if ex set to 1.9 it will still display all the 1.5 2handers etc/below 1.9

might be truncating it to an integer

I noticed several incorrect links from the item db to the monster db.

The “dropped from” link of every single Magi Ring goes to a non-existing monster db page.

For example, the Ring Of Anubar links to https://www.grimtools.com/monsterdb/3720 which doesn’t exist and goes back to the default search page. Instead it should link to https://www.grimtools.com/monsterdb/3215, which is the correct page for Magi Anubar.
