Hey there, I love your mod! Been playing it for months! Never really bothered to post until now, might do so in the future not sure. I’m sure you are very busy though.
I have some very minor contentions with the mod and new class items like Wraith Bane and Hellrender. They are criminally underpowered compared to the new expansion items like SoulSplitter and Death’s Reach. Their lack of physical to aether or chaos for example or their base weapon damage not being pure of that element like on Death’s Reach. Makes them 100% obsolete even for the classes you have created.
Also the Mysterious Lockers are giving the new expansion armors, is this intentional? Cause getting half your set for basically free just seems crazy to me.
Thank you very much for your hard work on the mod and please keep it up! Its very probably the best mod for Grim Dawn at the moment!
I haven’t updated the mythic versions of custom weapons yet, so please be patient, I’ll do that eventually
Can’t say I understood your question about lockers and sets, what do you mean?
The spell Nether Fire on Nosferatu has too low of damage. It’s so low I don’t think you can actually kill anything with it using maxed points and gear.
Ive installed it after deleting the previous one, then i imported a character lvl 50, and played for about an hour.
So far i didnt get a single locker, just some money bags and one skill potion.
Did something go wrong by importing a character ?
Edit: I played a bit more, and got 5 to drop in about 20-25 bosses/elites. Guess RNG trolled me.
I wanted to jump in here to say I’m really enjoying the mod. Right now I’m working on three builds at once: A summoning focused Druid/Voidcaller. A Paragon/Maleficar (love the combined name of this one -Blightslinger) that destroys things from a distance. And a surprisingly tanky Druid/Paragon.
I’m also having a lot of fun with this mod. Little things like potion of knowledge, sacks of coin, potion of the master, mysterious locker, etc… These things make the game far more rewarding than the vanilla game. The sacks of coin remind me of a D2 Mod called “Nezermontias” which had almost the exact same feature IIRC. Great mod, check it out sometime if you have D2.
As primarily a hardcore player I’m extremely grateful for the ‘cheat death’ passives you have included in most of your classes as well as companion summons such as ‘Astral Companion’. This ‘Astral Companion’ has helped me stay alive a great deal thus far thanks to 'Soothing Mist’. OTOH, I worry about the monster density later in the game with regards to my survival on hardcore. Hopefully your skills, at least in the new classes, are balanced to handle such a higher density.
My favorite class you made thus far is the Paragon. However, the class doesn’t seem to know exactly what it wants to be. Caster dps? Tanky mage? Paladin type? Perhaps that is the point. I really hope for some more melee skills or transmuters in the future. I’m really enjoying the skills ‘Elemental Burst’ and ‘Elemental Overlord’. I do hope ‘Elemental Missile’ gets some type of rework so It can be for useful for melee oriented builds or maybe just a buff to Elemental Burst. If not, I’ll figure something out. This class reminds me of a D2 Paladin crossed with a Path of Exile Templar.
As a dual-wielding Nosferatu I struggled mightily with dps and once I got Death’s Claw I figured it would help. I was wrong. I quit him and stripped him of any good gear at level 21. Maybe you can double check the numbers? It’s possible it’s just I need to keep playing him and combine him with the right secondary class and he’ll be fine. In vanilla density he would be decent, maybe.
The one negative in my mind, and this is purely based on preference, is that there seems to me an overwhelming number of summoning and caster skills compared to melee. Again, this is just my opinion and I do appreciate the great build you have done in the Mercenary who I first played in DAIL. I just would love a tad more options or transmuters for melee when looking through the classes since I despise summoning classes in this game and not a huge fan of pure casters in general. I like to hack 'N Slash my way through games I play. Hehe.
One final note, I actually bought the expansion just to play the latest patch of your mod, so your stash would work. Either Crate owe’s you some kickbacks or we should be thanking Crate for allowing modding. (I think it is the latter) Thanks again, your mod is a joy to play.
At quick look i noticed similar problem like in GQ - Voidcaller’s Entropy, Nosferatu’s Black Hole, Gangrene, Aura of Vampirism, Hunger, Mortifying Strike, Death’s Claw and Army of the Dead’s Burning Nether skills have life leech damage, which was removed by xpac. This might heavily affect those classes
Hi, thanks for great mod I rlly enjoy it.
Also have some suggestion to replace all Ruined shrines into Desecrated, imo combat is always better then nothing
Just got back to this mod again and the Paragon and Soulreaper (Stalker/Maleficar) are still awesome. I actually am enjoying these more than any of the GD default classes, even after the expansion!
I do have an issue though. I seems my devotions are locked at x/1, where I cannot unlock new ones as it says there’s a max of 1.
Is this something I’ve stuffed up or a mod issue with the expansion?
Also I’ve found that a few skills in Voidcaller seem a bit underwhelming damage wise, at least early on: Arc (huge energy cost!), Grasp of the Dead, Nether Fire.
