[Mod] Reign of Terror

I don’t understand what you’re saying. I mean, should all the words “Diablo’s Soulstone” in this conversation be written as “Mephisto’s Soulstone”?

There’s no error or mistake made in the conversation file as both soulstones are present in the mod.

Thank you, I understand. :relaxed:

would it be possible make to somehow game “hides” characters not made for selected mod…like for example when you choose main campaign, rot characters are not visible, and when selected rot, main campaign ones are not visible…so when i choose for example nydiamar, is it possible to “hide” rot characters and only show nydiamar

Thats not a thing that can be controlled by modders. Thats the way the game is by vanilla grim dawn. That would be something the developers of grim dawn would have to change.
Saying that I would love to see something that hard locked the chars to the mod they belong.

Many RoT teleportation points have a small range of action and must be clicked in close proximity to be effective. For example:

Can we uniformly optimize the next update ?

The completion bonus for the new Hellfire Torch is not working.

None of the classes +1 to +3 will be added. In addition, this Class + completion bonus is visible in color from any class, whereas normally the color is grayed out for classes that are not eligible.

Known and fixed in upcoming update, thanks for the report!

Hello to everyone here! I have signed up to say like many others, My appreciation and respect for this mod. After playing Diablo 1 and 2 for over 20 Years, as well as the D2R release, I really enjoyed D2R but Reign Of Terror takes it to the next level for having 2 Classes like the game Titan Quest back in the day to REALLY be able to try some insane builds, along with Runewords and the like! I also appreciate that Reign Of Terror isn’t simply Diablo 2, as it combines Rifts and Goblins from Diablo 3, as well as a Diablo 1 Remake all in one for the best of everything in the Series.

For Bugs, I have only found 2 so Far. For Act 2 Mercenary’s, when Summoned by Default they are in Defensive Mode and then Whatever Aura they have, is turned on. When you Switch to Aggressive Mode from Defensive, the Aura Deactivates until you Resummon the Merc, and when He is resummoned by Default he is now on Aggressive Mode and the Aura is again turned on.

The 2nd Bug, is sometimes when the Barbarian is Doing Whirlwind, the Animation Glitches out and he just stands in place, but still can move around and Whirlwind still works, it’s just that the Barbarian doesn’t Spin in which sometimes looks crazy haha!

Other than that, I have nothing more really to say other than Good job and thank you for all the Hard Work that has gone into this Mod. Grim Dawn is getting more exposure from D4 not being complete and lacking end game, so hopefully too this Mod will get more exposure and become revisited by those who haven’t played in quite some time!

that’s a vanilla game thing when you get hit by CC effects i think it is
*i’m assuming RoT is just using EoR from vanilla atleast so it interacts the same way

@Allen.

That is a major pain in the ass but it’s something we have to deal with. What I recommend is backup your characters. So if you enter a different mod with the wrong one, you can exit and rewrite from the backup. In case you corrupt characters.

This would probably be a challenge for the main Grim Dawn official team to work on. If they did fix this issue, I’d have happy dreams about it for months.

Now that we have all that out of the way, we can concentrate on issues that actually contribute to bugs within the mod itself after it actually loads.

You don’t have to resummon merc for the aura to work again. Just switch from Defensive to Aggressive or vice versa and they will recast it without any further dispels.

This is a known issue, however we haven’t found a way to fix yet so using this workaround is the best we have at the moment.

Oh ok awesome to hear! I understand the Mod is tied into the Base Engine and programming of the game so only so much can be done, but me and others have had… a strange issue.

Sometimes when i play, the screen goes black and it freezes. Windows has been updated, my graphic drivers have been updated, my firewall is off, power settings in windows and for the nvidia control panel by default is set to max performance, the FPS is capped at 60, in Grim Dawn i went and turned off, disable auto sort, and I will upload a photo of my video settings. Everytime it crashes, i have sent in a crashlog to crate games but of course no answer. I’m not sure if anyone else had this problem and somehow was able to fix it? I heard a rumor it has to do with Nvidia Cards and Grim Dawn’s Gaming Engine but I could be wrong. Video Card is a Geforce 6GB 1660 card, Windows 10 Home 64 Bit, i5-9400F @ 2.90Ghz and 1 Stick of 8 GB of Ram. It happens completely at random with no patterns of any sort. Any help would be awesome and thanks again for this incredible mod and help!

I even tried Depth Of Field off and Shadows off and it crashed after around an hour or so of playing. I saved the Crash Report as a Zip file if this would help?

Hey, I am having some issues with the mod currently and I am not sure if it’s it intended or not. I just started playing so still right at the start of the game and I am noticing elite mobs (corpsefire and such) are damn near unkillable. They are extremely tanky only taking 2-12 damage when I am slapping normal mobs for 40-60s and their HP seems to be constantly regening.

Took a solid 10 minutes to whack through corpsefire and I’ve ran into it again with the elite fire-ball casting chieften in the next area over and they regen so fast I can’t even kill them.

did you max a main dmg skill “immediately” or spread your points around like in regular grim dawn?
because spreading your points around is a good way to deal 0 dmg in RoT i learned/Fuzzydonlop told me to max my dmg skill instead
made a pretty significant difference for my char

I’ll give it a try and see if that helps  thanks for the response

Bit late now i guess, as gnomish inquisition already told you. Focus on an attack sbility first before going deeper into the mastery bar. Respeccing is free, so feel which works for you and what doesnt. Try to get it as high as possible that you dont run out of mana too quick. Once in act2, get a prayer merc from Greish and youll be good from there on probably.

Best start from level 1 though, jump in hell /ultimate difficulty, talk to Warriv and Akarq and you get a free level up, and then you can hop into normal at lvl2, starting den of evil with at least an attack ability. As a level 1, throwing javelins works but its a bit slow on the elite monsters

This might be an odd question. But in the mod folder I see a Video subfolder that has all the Diablo 2 cinematics. How are these played? Because I don’t see any when I load into the custom game. Even when I talk to the npc that let’s you replay intro, the game just blacks out for less than a second.
