the increase in damage for obsidian tremor is probably nice but the skill suffers when dealing with terrain where forcewave or bone harvest work fine. this is shift attacking towards the bottom right corner just outside homestead for instance, it does not deal damage where the projectile clips into the terrain:
It would also be cool if the skill worked similarly to Lokarr’s fire-based one. Once it reaches the destination it travels back, except when it hits the target.
I really don’t understand making any changes to this skill without address that finally. No other build gets shut down because a staircase or mound in the ground appears
from Grim Dawn V1.2.1.3 Playtest Changelog:
works very well in rotting croplands & darkvale gate (stairs). i also have a winter king trickster and might test both a bit more. much appreciated.
After all these years! Big if true
2 more issues with obsidian tremor and probably winter king’s might as well:
-
with 3 projectiles the angles don’t seem to add up (template skill_attackprojectilefan, seems to be fine with 4 projectiles and weird again with 5), by default projectilelaunchrotation is 45, i have increased that to 180 to illustrate (targeting the highlighted training dummy):
-
the projectiles seem to be somewhat small and can miss small enemies that are rather close to the fx/path so it would seem they should get hit. last noticed it with zombies that stayed at a distance but i didn’t get a screenshot, will try to get one and upload.
Vire’s Cacsade skill from relic Honor should get the same treatment for terrain obstacles.
did a quick test, cascade is fixed as well, inclines, stairs and all.
I was wondering it it was fixed from the fix of the pathing.
Last time i tried the tremor skill I though it didn’t hit well groups of ennemies.
I would definitly rebuild my Witch hunter with ember’s call set if the skill actually hit stuff.
Looked fun on paper… make Obsidian juggernauts great again (i’m not even american xD)
So I ended up testing the play test patch and the skill feel a bit underwhelming.
More damage would be welcome. Not too much, maybe adding another 12-15%, maybe ?
Here’s the set-up I tried Witch Hunter, Level 100 (GD 1.2.1.2) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator
I didn’t fix all augments and components (beside those for damage)
I just wanted to have a feel for the build but it didn’t affect the killing (otherwise I would have fixed the resistances)
WH over pyro, kinda crazy how strong ember’s calling is
