Official Grim Dawn Kickstarter Thread

But you can also consider that some player would NOT back the project if they don’t have a physical copy in return. Grim Dawn was the only project I support without any physical thing (till today), and there is a lot of Kickstarter project I do not back just because they offer only digital games.

Guys like me are probably just a few, but believe me, I back $250 because of physical things. Otherwise I’d just pay $48, so I think $202 is enough to make me a little box…

When you see $30k on Kickstarter, you just cannot say this is $30k for the game because there are items to produce - but without these items, you also won’t have $30k yet.

Why won’t your name be in the credits with the Early Access Edition pledge ($35) when it would have been with the Epic Edition ($32)?

Because it’s a privilege to be a early-keyholder ?

$35k and counting. I’d just like to make it known that I’m spreading the word everywhere I can in the hopes of creating enough traffic to take down Crate’s server again.

I just want to put in my 2c…

I’ve backed the Kickstarter project for $50 for two reasons:

  1. I’m a programmer myself, so there’s an empathetic connection (:
  2. I was invited for the Diablo 3 beta not too long ago. I’ve already pre-ordered. I’m in two minds about that because the beta failed to do what Diablo 1 and 2 did: blow me away, engage me, entice me, make me addicted. And in just the short time of the Kickstarter video, I’ve seen that Grim Dawn will probably offer me all of that – and more. I eagerly await alpha and beta testing

Thanks for your support. From one programmer to another, that means a lot.

Pledged $150 - keep up the awesome work, guys!

Will the backside of the “small fold out paper map of the world of Cairn” contain the classes and their skill tree?

Anyway I’m waiting my box, just hope it will have Linux inside.

Nice, the Grim Dawn Kickstarter has an article up on IGN now. It’s great to see this getting so much notice. The article almost certainly wasn’t posted because of the email heads up I sent them… but I’ll go ahead and take credit anyway. :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh wow it is now on pc-gamer as well. It’s one of the biggest sites for gaming (in Germany).

It is also getting some attention on the na-LoL forum in the thread I posted. Only a little but hey a few guys became backers so it’s worth it.

Oh my word!! I went away for like an hour and its nearly up at $40k!

I am plugging this everywhere I can.

Also meant to say earlier if anyone is interested in a bit of old fashioned IRC action we do have little channel running on irc.quakenet.org #grimdawn - see you there!

Just hit 40K! Awesome!

40k and counting!

Rhis you came to irc and went so fast! is this your ninja style? or did my musk sting the nostrils?

Okay, may sound like a silly question here, but what happens if you’ve already bought a key direct from Crate and don’t want to upgrade? Are you still going to get what was outlined for those original keys? Just curious about what the situation is for those who might not want, or be able, to put any more money into the project.

Now, where’s my calculator?

From the Kickstarter page:

Also, please note that the first 3 tiers on Kickstarter are identical to the 3 website pre-order levels despite the minor price differences. If you have a Legendary key, for example, you will get all of the stuff in the KS $50 reward and do not need to pledge any more money if you don’t want to.

So, as I understand it, you would still get what you were promised for your original pre-order level, plus any extra goodies associated with the equivalent KS pledge level.

Everything except the exclusive Kickstarter medal (and the key which you already have).

15% of the goal has been reached!

Just to clarify, if I already had the Legendary Edition paid for, I don’t need to do anything, right? Though I will of course be sharing the Kickstarter with everyone I know.

I just saw the Kickstart video on IGN and I immediately decided to support this noble cause!
I watched all the videos about Grim Dawn I could find and Im really thrilled to see the finished game. TQ has been one of my favourite games of all time and Grim Dawn looks promising enough to be even better.
It is great that you are making it possible for fans to have a big impact on development. I hope you get all the funds you need.
Also greetings from Finland.
