If you don’t think you have the time to make a new char, you can get the tool GD stash and refund one or both masteries. Perhaps study the build threads that you got your inspirations from and see what other people have done to change their “dead” builds?
As for the lack of time, that’s easily remedied with GDstash.
Crate allows players to mod GD for this very exact reason. You are being absurd here friend.
You can’t expect to play a game which advertises itself as DIFFICULT, and want to play it legitimately, build an amazing character, and not spend the time to do so.
EDIT: Malawiglenn knows I’ve spent ‘3000’ hours on GD.
I think that there is one highly pertinent argument that has not been raised yet. If the OP is so concerned about preserving his characters and hates patch 1.1 then quite simply OP does not need to play patch 1.1. Back-patch and play GD on an earlier patch, whichever you enjoyed most. This solution won’t be possible come FG but given the apparent dislike I guess OP wouldn’t buy it anyway?
Honestly, I think this guy just wants his toon to roflstomp everything in the past, the present, and the future.
Hey I recommended GD-stash before you did so
But you are right.
Game is advertised as a pretty difficult and time consuming game under constant development/balancing. Combine this with limited time to play and with the goal to make builds that can faceroll basically everything… not a good combo.
Options:
- Workaround the problem/theorycraft a bit more/wait for other players to theorycraft alterations
- GDstash the actual and find another build to play with current legit gear/GDstash some gear
- Patch back.
I’m reminded of my flat mate. He eats pizza and cake, then tells me he wants to have abs.
Bro…
If you want to faceroll you can still do so on a very tanky character, e.g a tactician with seal, stone form and 4k armor. It may take you longer (except octavius users) than the typical god tier build but it’s faceroll nonetheless.
I don’t think that is the case. Because I know for a fact that with a little change to one of the builds he is complaining about, he can still “roflstomp everything in the past, the present, and the future.”
But I get his view though. He went for something specific and that got nerfed to the ground. And that makes him feel like all that effort was for nothing. Certainly something I can sympathize with.
Tanks will always be tanks yes
no world record times, but they’ll get the work done
I dunno. Maybe I’m just a jerk, but it seems…unreasonable almost.
If I invest all my money in a particular stock, and the market tanks the next day, is it the market’s fault? Or my fault for not diversifying?
But it takes as much time to buy one stock than ten.
It takes about ten times as much time to level up one char than ten
Heh, stock market and GD aren’t exactly comparable.
I haven’t really diversified in GD beyond pet conjurers
That is VERY true. Can’t argue that. Which is why I keep advising new players to build a reliable farming build. Trying to do lokarr with your first toon is fun, sure. But it’s shortsighted.
You’re better of building a good solid build capable of clearing 150 reasonably fast and to build up a whole bunch of purples, than to spend all that time on one toon trying to clear everything.
Because the meta always changes.
Of course is always better to have multiple toons if you can.Star pact change for example turn some top tier builds in mediocre ones and no one is insured of their build is not able to be a farmer.Still most of the time you can adjust, provide you have enough items. If your only end game build was Clairvoyant the next patch meta for class become Agrivix and to stay relevant you need that set.
I mean, you don’t NEED a top tier toon to clear 150. Any good ol’ reliable can.
And those builds tend not to get nerfed because they don’t make waves.
They are also a lot easier to build.
But what if the “reliability” is changed in the patch?
Sure, but no all players want to play the “make one cruci farmer first, then do all the builds later”. Crucible is still not in the main game.
I saw that the OP seems to follow a beginner build guide here (sig’s conjurer). So judging from that, he/she would have many many upgrades left to make anyway. I think it is a bit of a over-reaction. Conjurer summoner will always be bonkers even with just one bird.
Sure, but no all players want to play the “make one cruci farmer first, then do all the builds later”.
And they are perfectly free to do that. More power to them.
Just don’t get all upset if the nerf hammer hits you.
The meta has changed so drastically over the years. Everyone has been hit by the nerf hammer at some point.
EDIT: All I’m saying is that there are workarounds to this little problem. GDstash. Smart ways to play legitimately. Etc.
To say that the toon is dead and to blame it on crate is what I’m calling out as unreasonable. The frustration felt is completely valid, but gladmark isn’t powerless. And there are things he can do to EASILY fix his situation.
2nd EDIT: (Just realized gladmark may be a ‘she.’ Apologies if I’m being sexist)
Aye, my Chaos pet conjurer past and present for comparison:

Also, now you can get a 26/16 familiar with just faction/craftable items. And that thing can clear Glad Crucible upto 150 pretty easily.
Honestly, I don’t see the difference in clear time. Judging by the countdown on your buffs, they are almost exactly the same in terms of clearance rate.
Just makes me more confused as to why gladmark is this upset.
Probably because he now has to farm beastcaller set
