Nope, stuck in limbo lol. Can’t fully respec back and can’t optimize the new build either. So slowly grinding and hoping to see vital drops soon.

I feel your pain - the true nature of a “REAL RPG” game 
This is the way the original games of yore went, NO quick gratification of Godlike powers, NO instant winning the lottery for a shit load of cash, NO easy access to every sweet piece of equipment and resource.
It all had to be earned the long,long hard and grinding way 
Fortunately Grim Dawn caters for countless forms of play styles that satisfy groups from the “kwik, wanna play 30 minutes and be a level 100 god”, “just casual player, but enjoy long haul softcore adventure and story”, “you only die once hardcore players”, “obsessed with finding ultimate builds theory crafters”, “lovers of fighting wave after wave of endless adversaries”, too many others to mention …
AND of course us, the masochistic players that don’t want to be spoon fed and want to do it “Our Way” in the traditional sense.
I cannot think of any other RPG game out there at the moment that comes close to or offers such vast,versatile and unique play styles. Crate really hit the nail on the head with this and it is why the game is such a huge success, leaving some the bigger and older established gaming houses bewildered and lost in the dust.

One morning, couple of days ago, my wife asked me how my GD journey was going. I just spent all my mats and cash (again) and got nothing, so I told her about it. She immediately replied:

Update on the grind (resources spent so far) to keep the statistics documented:
Ancient Heart: 280
Aetherial Mutagen: 168
Celestial Lotus: 29
Iron bits: 13 million
Any bets on how many mats it’s going to take? Just to clarify, I spend the hearts to roll the dice to get the amulet, mutagen for caster weapon (one of the 3 remaining set items), and lotus to transmute existing set items into the ones I need.
With my luck so far, thinking north of 500 hearts and 300 mutagen, as well as 50 lotus.
Probably 25 mil cash…

I’d try physical but am missing too many items. Much closer to complete the poison spec. Or fire/burn if only I had the mythical justice set. So, whatever drops first, I guess…
Great going mate, just a question here. Are you currently making a build capable of clearing just the ultimate main campaign or even the superbosses and optional content as well ?
Ideally, it should be able to clear all content. Hope so. I theory crafted the total max dps to be around 150k. In reality it will be lower because of low OA, which can’t go above 2k without gimping toughness. So, more like 100k max.
Once the endgame set is acquired, will start pushing. Which can be any day now if RNGesus gives me the set blueprint. Going the hard way, gambling for each set item might take weeks though, even at my pace of 40 hearts and 1.5mil coin / day.

Blueprint: Seal of Ancestry dropped last night! Another small step forward. Almost back to 3mil iron bits and some mats for the next round of gambling. This game is amazing!

While I haven’t won this lottery yet, quite a few interesting items were acquired this way. I could probably respec into a full poison pet build right now, or go all lightning (light defender spec). Also got a couple more items towards @adoomgod’s physical build. Even a full cold freeze/frostburn + chillspikes setup is now very doable. I’d really like to do some experimenting there, but all in due time. I’m determined to complete the original build and test it before possibly moving to a different one.

So I just dropped a second Mythical Ortus. I’m considering transmogging one into the second set (can you do that with these two?) and then maybe respeccing elemental. But I’m feeling a bit like a lost sheep without a shepherd (yeah, I thought about a pet build as well because I seem to drop all sorts of pet equip.) What to do, what to do??? Think I could do something around Nex/Ortus?
Can’t transmute 2-item sets unfortunately. But how is your current setup doing otherwise? Wanna share a GT link so we can brainstorm together? The pain of balancing stats at half the amount of attributes lol. We are literally looking for ideal synergies and best possible stats on every item.
PS I wouldn’t worry about these blades, they require cunning, too much to bother. 
PS2: Have you found any set blueprints? Maybe list the sets you can craft so we can see which ones could be useful.
A few more things to consider. Your OA is going to be very low, so ignore all bonuses and procs that work on critical attack. Ignore all gear that requires cunning or high spirit. Probably 400-500 spirit is the max we can aim for. That is to be able to equip endgame rings and amulets. Additionally, you will be missing a lot of hits, so you need attack skills with lots of ticks and a lot of % chance on attack procs. You also need some resistance reduction. Ideally, combined devotion and gear procs. And we must have 2-3 auras on gear to bind our defensive devotions.

Turns out this is for specific two sets that you have to get from a specific locations, like the Alkamos rings. But I just transmuted one Ortus into Nex so you can do it with random drop stuff.

That’s currently how I’m set up.
- I’m WAYYYYYYY to impatient and tirgger happy so I die all the time (it is less now and thank goodness it’s softcore). Obviously when I tackle the HC version I will have to seriously take a chill pill.
- Yeah, I’ve actually stopped looking at OA when I realized that because of needed defense I was never going to get it very high. My current one is probably too high for HC but for SC where I’m reckless to a fault it’s given be better kill times.
- The cunning thing sucks. Because by end game you need some better spirit to equip good rings and amulets and you definitely have to have a high PHY for the DA so trying to do a cunning based character in classless seems impossible.
- I had a few lucky drops by farming the SR stuff we talked about earlier. I’m particularly stoked about the helm I got.
- Since I’m SC I probably have too many offensive devotions because I only have one that binds to an aura. All the others have to bind to attack abilities which has been a pain in the ass. I had to use a set of Empowered Groudbreakers until like level 97 when I dropped the earthshatter treads. I couldn’t lose the boots I’d have to dump a devotion! ARRGHH.
- EDIT. And, fyi, I have essentially no more mats of worth as I spent them all.
I have to farm a lot of seals and ugdenblooms for more good end components.
