I am only about 3 hours into gameplay with having only just upgraded my Town Center fort he first time (and am loving the game) and I am running into an issue where when I go to build a building, I cannot remember if I have already built that type of building or not. I wish there was a simply display of some sort that showed or told me the quantity of each building or even just the selected building prior to building it. This would prevent double-building something I didn’t need and thus save me resources and time.
If you go to the prefessions tab you can kind of see which type of buildings have been built if they have people working in them but not the amount of that type of building.

Welcome to the forum. 
The F2 key should show building names when you use it, but it’s been disabled atm due to some problems.
