Hitting some snags along the way here and now Easter is happening, so just to let you know, work is in progress, a lot of things need updating inside.

Version 0.4.7 news:

I received the hot fix from Asylum for Grim Quest and, as you may have noticed, Ceno and adoomgod have begun releasing Cornucopia 4.0. I intended to spend my time merging/integrating adoomgod’s new monster encounters into Grimmest for Grimarillion, but instead I spent a lot of time finding subtle modifications between my dbrs and the current game dbrs, and there were issues related to Grimmest and Autopickup that had to be resolved first.

So I will release this, with the latest Grimmest (cleaner version, lots of small monster nerfs too, so if you were hating certain enemies in Grimarillion, they now have the same nerfs the devs gave them, which I find for certain builds to be essential). The latest hotfix from Asylum is included. I also accurately (I hope) merged in GQ and Corn devotions, so you should now be able to use Devotions with GQ skill and they should also have all Corn modifications.

In addition, and this next part even I am a bit confused on what exactly the effects are, I brought in everything from the latest Corn 4.0 but I dropped with over-write Grimmest on top. So the encounters should be largely Grimmest, you are not likely to see anything new from adoomgod just yet, but it is possible that some things, such as Kyzogg’s ondeathspawns are now gone.

This will be my focus for the next version, accurate integration of Corn’s monster changes into Grimmest.

In other news, have finally discorded with Grimerand we plan to bring him on to the Grimarillion team and add in his lovely d3 masteries. Not exactly sure when this will happen yet, but hope to have it done pre-xpac.

In any case, for now, I might have introduced bugs, so please report anything unusual you might find. I tested Kyzogg, the quest completes, but I had nothing spawn on his death. Not game breaking IMO, so I just release to you to help me find what else is amiss.

I dont know if it’s because im using the game version 1.0.0.8 but with this newest Version 0.4.7 of grimarillion i cannot start a new character. I create the character and hit Start and the game stops working after a few seconds in the load, i have to Ctrl+Alt+Del out and close the game.

I thought something was wrong with the game so i ran the repair program but the issue still stands, i can make new characters with the normal mode.

Could someone please try making a new character with this Version 0.4.7 and see if they run into similar issues.

Impression in normal difficulty with short play. About this version, I felt that the enemies of vanilla became only strong. The enemies became abnormally hard, and especially as for Kizogg, took a long time to kill. It’s also strange that Corruption shoots the electric bolts without an intermission. Moreover, “this X Monster Has No Name” does not appear, after killing Kyzogg… this was the same in Grimmest. There is no surprise this time. To be honest, the previous version was more interesting in general.

It’s great news that Grimer join. I want the class of his MOD to all be added.

I always make a new character and test a little before releasing, based on the feedback from Matougi, I assume it is something specific to your case. If it is due to the old version of GD, that would be interesting to know, but I hope you understand that we really cannot test old versions of the game, nor support them.

As to Cornucopia vs Grimmest, well that will be a battle (in terms of modding activity) that we will fight over the next few releases. Maybe while we work on this, I will just keep Grimmest completely intact for Grimarillion. Depends on feedback like you just provided, so thanks for posting.

As to Grimer’s d3 mod, yes, that was a condition that we all agreed upon. Grimarillion will include all of his masteries and all of his items. We will continue to try to maintain 99%(*) of each mod within the compilation. But as you can see now with Cornucopia and Grimmest, there should be a big asterisk by the 99%, as sometimes thinks just overlap.

Back to pure Grimmest in terms of monsters and proxies, somethings seem to have lost deathspawns, I am going to look into that and get more serious on Grimmest modding again very soon.

Also includes a few random fixes from Asylum for GrimQuest.

Damn, i didnt even noticed that lost of deathspawns, cuz i was enjoying the monstrous 2700 life regen from Nature (almost all gear with %health regen and flat regen and +royal jelly potions) and Bloody Pox disease-the-whole-Cairn abilities. BTW Kyzogg and Shambler were a good challenge on Elite, challenge of circle kiting, haha :smiley:

The world of the previous monotone which was uniformly hard even as for weak mobs was just painful. I think that it’s a big element of fun that the enemies for whom fighting is difficult, and the easy enemies are mixed. And a mixture of painful places and easy places as well. Grimarillion has that. There may have been a good part in the previous version, but I like this one better.

That sounds great. Then, we can enjoy a full course. I’m really looking forward to that.

but, Which version should I use? there is so many of them and I have no idea what all these mods brought together do in this new version, so when one version is “full grimmest with no Cornucopia v4 proxy” I get confused.

I understand what Grimmest is. Its a difficulty increaser, yeah? but what is “full Grimmest”? is that the unnerfed grimmest?
Cornucopia seems to change a shit ton of stuff, but I cant find data on v4. (I assume that’s the version that’s been made while being merged into this wonder mod?)
And as a noob, I have no idea what proxy changes is, in the context of this game.

I think i’ll try what I assume is the nerfed grimmest, v047? and see how it goes =D
