I’m currently farming a Magestorm Blaze Herald for an Aether Spellbreaker. It’s supposed to be an Aether Lightning build, so I have to have Magestorm for aesthetic reasons. I have farmed out 38 Blaze Heralds yesterday and today, and got maybe 7 Aetherfire and 0 Magestorm. I assume there is an affix bias at play because Blaze Herald has some fire damage on it.
Which raises the question, why does it have fire damage on it? It doesn’t have any fire RR, doesn’t buff any fire skills. Does anyone out there have a fire build which uses it?
How about removing the fire and making Blaze Herald a pure aether weapon? Which I assume would give it equal chance to drop with Aetherfire and Magestorm.
some affixes have higher proportions than others, even within same dmg bias, this is to make some affixes more common/less common, so not necessarily a guarantee you get equal chance

I finally got 1 Magestorm Blaze Herald of the Aether. It was Herald 56. Now to get the second one. I also killed Krieg 12 times for the lols, and got 2 Magestorm weapons from him.
I got the second one now too. Also Magestorm of the Aether. It was Blaze Herald 74. I hit Nemesis with Aetherials on run 65 or so. And Revered with Deaths Vigil on run 70 or so. I found a total of 16 Aetherfire Blaze Heralds.
No, they were both level 55. My ideal realistic Blaze Herald is Magestorm of Celerity. The spreadsheet says the odds are not good. Maybe I’ll try for it when I hit ultimate.
Guessing you’ll find a bunch of players who like the fire. Usual stats sales work on is that pleasing people gives about a tenth the plus on sales that displeasing people loses you.
Angry people are louder than happy people.
I am curious about something.
You farmed 38 of these things.
Gosh.
You don’t find that a bit repetitive?
I’d have been reaching for GDstash well before I got to 38.
I dunno, I’m just a lazy developer. Loops are for code IMO.
To be clear. I’m not criticising or anything. Just curious.
