I guess this nerf a reaction to Vitality DEE Conjurer from our top20 rating, or maybe it just coincided with Rekt’s dropping a video on it recently. Either way I don’t think it’s a good idea and here is why: it will hurt multiple mid-tier Rotgheist DEE builds more than it will “balance” said top20 build. Here are examples of Rotgheist Vitality DEE builds I made personally:
There are probably few other variations of DEE Rotgheist builds but bottom line all of them will feel that nerf and not in a good way while top20 Vitality DEE will probably feel it the least. At the same time, that build is a result of multiple synergies plus it took like five iterations and four builders to figure it out.
I think this Rotgheist nerf would go well with baking that radius into the core skill, then it makes absolute sense.
The base of DEE itself however needs a bit of a nudge. Vit Rotgheist with a stacked weapon and Ember’s with stacked tdms are the only DEE builds that were ever even on the radar of good performers. Yet again the skill’s power is effectively locked behind very niche selection of items.
So many acid and even retal acid items made for DEE, and nothing is even close to giving you a good build. And no mods for other dmg types, would like to see smth else besides vit, acid, fire and chaos.
not trying to disagree that XY DEE build can get a bump, but, the issue with “just nudge base” is it affects campaign levelling a lot
I think it’s more of a shame if certain endgame variants doesn’t perform decently despite using their intended endgame items, then it also seems like that’s where to put the bump.
Like, if you have something as 5p dedicated set and it’s just “vanished” into mist since that one time Grey stacked 4k? bonus dmg, (tho granted Rotgheist is also technically a dedicated set, that just happened to be better) then to me it would seem like the fix lies on those 80+ items the XY endgames want
The principle described in that discussion regarding DEE radius should apply to several skills and stats tbh. Hard points investment should be more rewarding.
