With Shamans and Beserkers class coming from the northlands. The people of the Kurn have their patron Mogdrogen. The Kurn seem to had some wars with the Arkovians. After a successful campain from the Arkovians, Mogdrogen persuaded king Rowan to leave his throne. Likely do to events in the war of the gods. By doing this the Kurn would be able to extend their territory, and Mogdrogen gaining more followers and thus more power. Than the Erulan empire were growing and they had their share of wars with the Kurn. Which in the end Erulan won by marching to their capital and crush them. Of course the Kurn tribe have summoned the Loghorrean at the battle of fort Ikon i believe.
This expansion was never planned, so i wonder how this plays out with Mogdrogen, Rhowari and Kurn lore wise. As Mogdrogen has only mentioned the Rhowari.
It could be due to the Arkovians knowing about Ch’thon if that was the seed that spread towards the Kurn.
While we’re at it:
That new Circle of Five illusion - Well, I recall they were some aetherial overmind mob thingy, but afaik their story was never laid out that much as to justify a whole illusion with their theme.
Though I’m sure I just forgot most about them, and there is indeed more to tell. Anyone mind refreshing my memory?
Question about Uroboruuk. Did he cause the fall of Arkhovia (I mean, the genocide of Arkhovia) after or before building the necropolis (to become a god if I remember correctly, with the side effect of summoning ch’ton)?
Uroboruuk and the Fall of Arkovia aren’t related to the summoning of the Loghorrean. At least as far as I can tell. I’m not sure where that conclusion was drawn. Naren Kur is just an example of the Tentacles of ChThon infiltrating normal, not blood crazy society.
And the lore notes directly tell us that the oligarchy lusted after immortality so they captured and tortured Uroboruuk until finally he gave them their wish, albeit not how they expected. The nobles deserved it, although innocents were caught in the crossfire and the children born after became harpies.
Strangely enough; seemingly not all spirits are hostile and some seemingly understand their plight and the tragic cause/effect that was their downfall. Take Minova and her dialogue.
I was under the impression that Uroboruuk was the secret mastermind behind the Necropolis construction (cf the lore books from the Dalhia/Travis secret quest that leads to Lokarr), maybe there is something I misunderstood about that?
I remember reading the lore note in the coliseum where I said out loud “What the f***” after my first time reading it
For anyone not knowing what I am talking about Coliseum Horrors - Official Grim Dawn Wiki
Could perhaps be, but I don’t recall any link from those quests. I could be totally wrong.
Another clue is the architecture. The Necropolis isn’t that old, much of it remains intact, and in relatively good condition. Whereas old Arkovia ruins seem much more windswept, ancient, crumbling remnants of a bygone age. That alone suggests that the Fall of Arkovia came first.
