SPOILER ALERT: Lore Discussion

Oh they can

LOOOL! Tell me you did not just make this up. I can imagine it being a stick figure with a pointy sword.

Btw, I do wonder sometimes, lore-wise, whether Grobles and Trolls are related? Both species seems to be similarly barbaric/shamanistic, with larger sized specimens leading them - stonewart trolls for trolls, dranghouls for grobles.

What, kind of like how goblins, bugbears and hobs in D&D are all pretty much kin despite size differences? I could see it.

Have the Aetherials ever tried possessing/mutating a Groble? I mean, the question of why they would want to comes into question, I suppose, but they possessed/mutated a bunch of other things.

Yeah, that’s what I am thinking. Grobles even look (and their name sounds like) Goblins, while the Half-Trolls look more like your traditional Orc. Dranghouls are basically what Bugbears are to Goblins.
Btw, the game does not call them Half-Trolls, but based on what Elsa and others said… apparently those giant Stonewart Trolls are the real trolls and the smaller ones are half-human, half-troll hybrids. Given how many there are though, I imagine they half-trolls can breed true as well, though.

As for mutations, I think the new challenge dungeon will be about Void/Aether-warped beasts, no? Maybe we will see aether-mutated Grobles and Slith.

H…how do you make a human-troll hybrid? My inner hentai expert gave me an answer I don’t want to hear.

Elsa hints at it when you talk to her, and it’s about as bad as you imagine. Pretty much the same way a half-orc gets made in D&D, usually anyway.

Thanks - yeah, good analogy. Most D&D half orcs are not a result of consensual love. Explains why most people hate them, not just for their orcish looks but how they came into being.

Umm, you never talked to Elsa? She mentions this and when you ask the same question, she retorts “It’s not like I have first hand experience, you perv!” But yeah, basically think of the trolls as the… Leatherface family type, who kidnap humans for food and “fun”… heavily implied to be yes, what you are thinking.

So, new Monster Infrequents added to the game… and those shoulders with the lots of eyes make me think whether they are Dreeg-related? Or could but just dropped by some Rylok boss.

It’s clearly from Loggo, look at the tentacles.
Source: My inner hentai expert.

Wonder if the tentacles are animated? Unlikely, to be sure, but it would be amazing.

They probably won’t #LazyDevs

Even hentai aside, that is a good guess. And then it is likely that the Aether crystal mace thingie is dropped by Theodin Marcell.

Would you REALLY want to wear a mantle of tentacles that constantly grope you? It would be really distracting in battle.

Summing up J-RPGs in a single post

Shoulders are Loghorrean and Scepter is Theodin Marcell

And I’m calling it now, Kra’vall will drop a shoulder MI with a similar design.

Seriously with the troll-human hybrid thing and the stuff in the Fleshwork I think someone at Crate must be a closet hardcore hentai fan.

I think the entire team could be into some weird stuff - they give us sex toys as weapons, there are enough tentacles to rival JRPGs and then there’s Gazer Man

I think it’s more likely that they chose things that would make people squirm a bit to fit the theme of the gameworld, rather than them being turned on by it.

Say what you want, Krieg set definitely looks like a masochist’s wet dream

Yeah I mentioned this in the Krieg Set feedback thread. That set’s design is wrong on so many levels.

Well, Krieg was a serious freak, as we know, so lorewise it makes sense that he’d have a set like that.

This is literally what I thought of when I saw the helm. NSFW
