SPOILER ALERT: Lore Discussion

I am really having a feeling that all things in someway influenced each other and are connected.

I theory that i have:

The war of the gods might have taken place in the Arkovian era. Because of that, the 5 Arkovian gods left protecting/influencing Arkovia. Therefore Mogdrogen warned the last king of Arkovia. Uroboruuk did his ritual at the altar of Rattosh. After that the Witchgods managed to ascend by using the alter or at least Dreeg.

The Bloodsworn/Ch’thonians that were waiting in the mountains above Burrwitch for a assault on Burrwitch and the Aetherials. They changed their plans to investigate some power growing that is Korvaak. However they ran into Uroboruuk and lost the fight. Obviously the Ch’thonians know who Korvaak is because they ended up in Korvaak’s tomb and the secret area.

I have a feeling there is some connection between Korvaak and Uroboruuk. It’s strange that the inquisitors of Erulan were not fighting against the order of Death’s Vigil, since they haven’t hidden themselves like the witches from the Coven. Unless their headquarters was only recently in Sorrow’s Bastion. Or maybe i missed something.

I’m also confident that Korvaak was there in the war of the gods.

Uroboruuk did his ritual at the altar of Rattosh. After that the Witchgods managed to ascend by using the alter or at least Dreeg. Is that how it went? The order of events? The order seems to say that uroboruuk has gone missing more recently. Did he become a god or was he just snooping around?

The Bloodsworn/Ch’thonians that were waiting in the mountains above Burrwitch for a assault on Burrwitch and the Aetherials. They changed their plans to investigate some power growing that is Korvaak. However they ran into Uroboruuk and lost the fight. Really? I missed this as well

Well i believe that Uroboruuk is older than the witchgods, however i have no proof.

From the note Missive to Wightmire Bloodbound they speak of the hills above Burrwitch. So i would assume they traveled to east march going for the same source of power as Uroboruuk. We haven’t met any Ch’thonians in Gloomwald etc. And Burrwitch was still in control by the Aetherials.

RIP itemization for Avatar of Oleron :undecided:

Lokarr mentions them in different statements and the way he says it sounds like he’s talking about two different beings. Ulzuin being Korvaak sounds less likely imo since he doesn’t sound “Forgotten”. The demolitionist who call upon him are aware of his “chaotic” nature

At the same time I can say that you could be right since I recall some Note/Conversation where some NPC mentions that a certain God called upon the Void for power

Uro’s age is kind of a mystery. Uro seems to have been around (Uro’s Notes - Part 1) when Korvaak walked amongst us (as stated by Kymon when you retrieve Korvaak’s Eye)

Your latter statement makes me wonder if you ever side with the Necromancers :stuck_out_tongue: (Burn the Chosen!!)
The Order’s quest where you defeat Uroboruuk’s Guardian drops Uroboruuk’s second note that reveals this info

Btw anyone find it weird that we have ZERO Beronath References in Mogdrogen’s Haven
Heck I didn’t even see the creature whose bones can be seen in the Jagged Waste. What the heck was he preserving?

Lokarr said something about Korvaak? During crucible fight? I miss most of his speech during those fights… too damn distracted by all the mess swirling around me.

That is a good point. Would be nice to know more about Beronath or its spawn. Would be funny using Beronath skill to bash Beronath itself

Something to the effect of “Korvaak was right, humans are miserable wretches” I think

Korvaak was right, humans are miserable wretches…

@ Chthon. I side 90% of times Necro. Is much as I like paladin/kimight types, maiden, blade maidens, Kymon are morons imo…

God damn Lokarr and all his taunts. As if I’m not having a hard enough time already. This inspires me to go bash his face in a few more times :furious:

Honestly the one that bugs me is “You’re beginning to bore me” as I’m cleaning house. Kind of makes me want to go Maximus for a bit.

The messenger also spoke of things set in motion centuries ago. The witch gods are afraid perhaps Korvaak is responsible for them be able to ascend. I mentioned the Codex of lies has the same image as Korvaak. Maybe he is trying to take their power first before taking other gods.

Send Nudes

Seriously though anyone willing to confirm this with some pics would be great.
I don’t think I recall seeing it

That’s actually mind-fuckery
To anyone who is lazy here you go

  1. Codex of Lies
  2. Korvaak’s Shrine
  3. Solael’s image

Your post reminded me of an old post

A little off topic, did we come across the tunnel that’s being referred here yet?

Grim Dawn : Forgotten Gods has been announced - http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=68923

It seems we will be investigating Korvaak’s Ruins that Kymon disturbed

Also the misadventure confirms that the Witch Gods are afraid of Korvaak

I’ll say. Bysmiel’s scheming alone pales seems to pale before that of Korvaak it seems

In the lore note from Mogdrogen, which you can find in the ancient grove. He already states that the witch gods are afraid.

I used the word “confirms” for a reason I don’t trust Mogdrogen. The damned mutt is too damn proud of himself, he forgets he is nothing more than a mere Ascendant.

@Superfluff
While you are right I still think we should get some bits and pieces about Bysmiel’s schemes on items/notes

[QUOTE=Chthon;613503]I used the word “confirms” for a reason I don’t trust Mogdrogen. The damned mutt is too damn proud of himself, he forgets he is nothing more than a mere Ascendant.

As a pet summoner, I really wish I could out summon mog…

Hope the new expansion won’t bring new level cap and power creep to hell…

Mogdrogen also refers to the Witch Gods as “false gods”… I wonder if it’s because they were originally mortals that ascended to godhood?

I am pretty sure he is referring to the other gods.

You’re probably right, although that could still apply to the Witch Gods as well.

But that “false gods” sentence is still rather intriguing… assuming it’s not just Mog being condescending towards the other gods.

The flames of a forgotten god have been rekindled, sending ripples through the Eldritch realm and sowing terror even among the Witch Gods themselves.

If the next expansion is us teaming up with the Witch Gods to beat a bigger evil, that would be the shit. Specially with Dreeg, i want to talk with Dreeg.
