SPOILER ALERT: Lore Discussion

Humm so only one Enemy faction …that is mean only one Nemesis too ?? seems too…

Yeah, I posted that in the stream thread a while ago.
This means the Eldritch Horrors will have some Nemesis, and likely a Challenge Dungeon too in the new area.
So far only a few creatures are Eldritch (Shamblers, Ugdenbog Golems, Carnivorous Plants, plus all Witch God beasts like Eldritch Mongrels and the like) so I am sure we will get a lot more of new Eldritch enemy types in Forgotten Gods.
Btw, always wondered why we have Riftspawn as an enemy type - they do count as Beasts, no? Maybe in the future Riftspawn will count as Beast and Eldritch too, since these things are clearly “not of this world”, but likely things that escaped from the Eldritch Realm eons ago, and now have bred true on Cairn.

I didnt see that thanks

Faction-wise, yes. But not in terms of % Damage. Just like % Insect Damage exists (actually I think only “Less Damage from Insects” exists), even though all insectoids give Beast rep on kill.

There is probably a secret super boss in FG.

We can all hope

Late to the party but how is Bysmiel able to hand down powers to people to help them traverse the veil?

Wasn’t it Rattosh’s specialty?

Lokarr: “I haven’t seen such a sad display since Ulzuin’s betrayal.”

How does Lokarr fit into the lore?

He’s just a low quality shitposter. He doesn’t fit anywhere.
He is a Demi-God, looks like the master of shattered realities. Appears to have the ability to invade any dimension (his personal notes warning us were found in the secret quest’s path) or make fragments of any dimension a part of his realm.

He has been here for long and has witnessed events such as Ulzuin’s Betrayal. Has somehow managed to make contact with Korvaak.

His plot involvement is questionable. He is killed by a magical vagabond wearing an armor in a couple of hits. His status as a “Demi-God” doesn’t help either cause so far both the Demi-God’s in the lore - Nemesis and Lokarr have been proven to be very weak. With such weak power level I don’t see him as a key player.
Hahahaha!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D
Nice…

Thanks for the clarification and summary. Appreciated!

I don’t see why other gods don’t posses such powers.

Fair enough.

About the recent misadventure I think there is something interesting. Dreeg has been cited as Empyrion’s mirror instead of Solael.

From my interpretation, the Celestial Guardian that you summon with the Scion of Dreeg, is the mirror of the deity or now serves. And that would be Dreeg.

Yeah now that I gave the text a second look it looks that way. For some reason I read that as “used to serve”.

What a sad display! @ Lord Lokarr lol…;););)

Fossil god may say whatever he wants, but his presence is waning away while mine grows stronger with each passing day.

Once upon a time I met a Cthulhu incarnate.

It turns out that it’s just one of his lackeys.

I devoured this Cthun wanna be with extra amusement.:p:p:p:p

Winner,winner,Octopus for dinner! Proof:

Will the npcs’ from AoM (particularly coven of ugdenbog) provides more conversations/lore/quests related to FG when player is progressing in FG as main quests?

Also, will FG area be mostly populated by eldritch type enemies (making +damage to eldritch almost mandatory)?

here is only one that I know “Mogdrogen’s Ruminations”

"Recent events bring trouble to my heart.

A mortal, one of the Erulan inquisitors they call Kymon, has stumbled upon something. Something…ancient and forgotten. And like any imprudent mortal, he did not leave what should have remained forgotten alone. A mighty blaze now stirs deep beneath the Korvan Plateau. The beasts of Cairn are restless. They sense it too.

To compound this mystery, the normally capricious false gods have gone curiously silent. I suspect they’ve receded to their pocket realm. The timing cannot be fortuitous. The Witch Gods are afraid. Their attention must be drawn to the same power that now consumes the souls of Kymon and his chosen. The mortals’ ardent worship feeds it, gives it strength and form.

Rumblings among the humans speak of the mighty Empyrion’s return, but I know that to be the false hopes of helpless wretches. The identity of this forgotten power eludes me, and yet it feels so…familiar.

What I am certain of however is that cataclysmic change is upon us. I have felt it in the earth. Smelled it upon the wind. Forces I have not sensed in millennia yearn for vengeance and blood.

I must gather my Rhowari. The time approaches when their conviction will truly be tested."

Based on Mog’s ruminations, these points are worth discussing:

 1. The mysterious being that Kymon stumbled upon can influence beasts and mortal surrounding his domain

 2. Who are the ‘capricious false gods’? Are they stronger than Mog/The 3 WG?

 3. The 3 WG feels threatened by this mysterious being who controls Kymon’s chosen. (Will this means some members of Kymon’s chosen will become enemies in FG, regardless of our affiliation to them?)

 4. Mog doesn’t believe the mortal’s rumor about Empyrion’s return. But he sense something familiar from this ‘Empyrion’ (Maybe this being contains part of Empyrion?)

 5. Vengeance and blood. There is an upcoming ominous event which is probably part of the Glorious Dawn plan talked about by aetherials. (Ulzuin and chthon might be involved? Vengeance and blood?)

 6. FG might introduce a new faction related to Rhowari, but more militant and organized. Or maybe the Rhowari will have some kind of main base in FG.
