The Fluffy Squishy - Pet Conjurer :3

I’ve just tried doing ravager on ultimate. he is indeed the same as the elite version, just as listed on grimtools. killed him in the same amount of time. the only difference are the resistances, but only in theory, since every build that gets into those kind of fights is supposed to be overcapped even on ultimate.

thanks for the answer. seeing as you are the pet guru on this forum, and since there was nothing similar to what I have among your toons, I thought my primal spirit build was flawed in some way that i was oblivious to.

Otherwise, it performs pretty well, the manticore is awsome. I’m not doing hardcore yet, so I could afford to sacrifice some tankiness for dps, and I’m only taking up shattered realm these days, 10 levels at a time, since I find it boring as hell. But crucible 150/170 is not a problem, even with no blessings (though sometimes it’s risky without at least the +life one).
The only really frustrating thing up to now was crate of entertainment, of course. But it was a matter of piloting, not of build philosophy. Now I’ll just have to repeat the succes and keep my sanity intact until i get the amulet

If you can beat all the celestials, do crucible even without blessings/banners and go deep enough into SR (yes it can indeed be boring on your first climb), then by all stats, I’d call it a successful build

Some extra trivia about my builds is that I always go for the most defensive and laziest option available by default. It is because my piloting is terrible and I need to make up for it. So, if you don’t mind being a bit more active, you could go for a lot of different kinds of builds and still be pretty successful.

Also, as Siggy stated above, your build is closer to his than mine, so do give it a quick look. Different perspectives are good and might offer more insight into the workings of various builds

Thing is, the way this game works, you are never quite sure to what extent a skill/item/combination affects the gameplay. For instance, I was very proud of my bound wraith with its reckless guardian pet that supposedly has a nice buff with a longer duration than the pet itself  I like to believe it makes a difference. It’s actually the main reason I traded cat’s eye for it. But there’s no icon when the buff is active, and if it does work, the improvement might be too subtle to notice. That lack of specific info is actually a problem that pet builds, among all gd toons feel the most. At the same time I feel that’s what makes the game charming. A bit of mistery, uncertainty, room for arguing even after 400+ hours is always a good thing

While on the topic of Off-Hands, another possible contender that I want to bring into the scene is StormBringer of Malmouth, especially if you go with Spark of Ultos for Weapon. Since you will then be pretty much doing Lightning damage, the extra 400% increase to it will come in handy

The only builds I’ve ever seen where Stormbringer is even in contention for BiS are Bysmiel’s Trinkets Cabalists. Skill bonuses are too important to forgo otherwise.

I’ve also never seen Spark of Ultos outperform Bysmiel’s Mindweaver, no matter how large a fraction of your damage is Lightning.

Well, if for some reason you aren’t using Cat’s Eye and don’t have a good enough Bound Wraith, I’d say Stormbringer is a nice alternative.

Interesting that you say that Mindweaver always beats Ultos. I can see it on Trinket builds, but what is the reason with Beastcallers?

And does it mean that Ultos is in need of a buff then?

The two are different enough that it’s to analyze exactly what makes Mindweaver better, but it’s probably a combination of the attack speed and DoT duration. All of the elemental celestial powers have a DoT component, and it gives extra DoT to Familiar and Hellhound.

Thebuildposted by @extilian doesn’t have any elemental procs though. I was going by that. Does MW > Ultos still apply there?

Hi!
I was wondering why are you using “salazar’s sovereign blade” in the budget build instead of “Bysmiel Mindweaver” as it’s a craftable item and the blueprint can be buy at Cult of Bysmiel vendor?

Maya, what do you think on switching Runebrand pants for this:

The extra pet can be quite handy early on. But either is fine.

Pant Slot is pretty flexible. So it should work fine.

I chose Runebrand mostly for the Stun & Freeze Res.

Hi Maya.

Can u provide the updated GT link for the Flaming Fluffy & Frozen Fluffy.

Thanks

Only change is the Belt. Use Mythical Shadowfiend instead. Swap augments to cover Vitality resistance if needed.

Also, I didn’t exactly pay attention to the attribute point allocation in those links. So invest as much as needed to equip the items in both Spirit and Cunning and the rest in Physique.

This build is legit chill. Perfect for lazy person like me LOL.

I was pushing to SR 81 yesterday relatively easy. Maybe I didnt get the messed up combination of bosses haha. Only concern is that there is almost no overcap on Aether and Chaos resist. Might be a problem facing Aleks/Anas.

The lack of overcap on Aether/Chaos only becomes a problem if you get trapped by Benn’jahr and get a face full of Aether/chaos damage. Otherwise easily avoidable by using the tactic of running away :stuck_out_tongue:

haha yep that is true lol.

I know someone might already ask this somewhere in the tread, but which one you think is better? elemental bird of bysmal (2 familiar) vs. elemental fluffy (2 briarthorn).

Thanks

I personally prefer Double Familiar.

Thanks for the info!

For higher SR, what do you think about if I drop Amatok and take the 50% regen node on the tree of life and also 3 bottom node of oliesk for more DA and armor?

It may help. But you will also be lacking a bit of DPS due to not having Blizzard. Give it a try and see.

Howdy. New player here following your budget guide til I can start farming. My question is: Looking at the GrimTools for this build there are a total of 277 skill points allocated. There are 244 available in game and there are an additional 15 from the gear being used. Am wondering where the additional points came from to max out the skills taken. Also note the 277 is the “base” number not including the ones from gear. :rolleyes:I appreciate the build and have been learning a lot about the synergies in the game from it. Thanks for the work. Wondering if I am confused or missing something.
