The Fluffy Squishy - Pet Conjurer :3

me again lol.how you know what dmg pets do,i just took everything with pet bonuses and now dont know anything

Their description is usually pretty clear on what they do; the Raven deals Lightning damage on both their normal and Lightning Strike attacks, the hound deals Physical and fire on their normal attacks, and Physical, Fire and Chaos on their breath attack and death explosion, etc.

You can also take a look at the GrimTools pet database; I’m only not sure how to see the different Necromancer’s skeletons, I think there is a way to switch between the types but can’t find it anymore lol.

Like Crevette said, you can see on their description.

If you are talking about damage conversion, then you would have to go through that manually by looking into the items you have and what is getting converted into what and by how much.

I… also seem to remember that being possible but don’t remember how to do it :frowning:

I keep this post as a handy guide for Skeleton related stuff - [Pet] Beginner's Apostle Death Knight (pet theorycrafting section has some neat info)

Found it, it’s visible in the build editor, not the pet database; you need to go to the settings and check “show all pets attributes and skills” first, then when highlighting the “raise skeletons” skill you press tab to cycle through the different types, even shows their respective spawn weights.

Tried to give the game another chance and it seems like a lot has changed (for the better), after loosely following this build I noticed that the raven is not using its Lightning strike sometimes for more than 6-7 seconds. Anyone noticing something similar, is this how it’s supposed to be (when I test on dummy the ability triggers every 2sec or so)?

Is it perhaps stuck trying to heal you or the helldoggo during actual combat? I removed the Mend Flesh ability because of that lol (well, and the dog’s explosion being a huge part of its damage early on :skull:)

Probably due to the bug where Raven sometimes gets stuck and stops attacking.

It has been linked to Mend Flesh as Crevette said above, so do test if removing that ability solves the issue.

I tried what Crevette suggested but it seems like the raven auto attack ability takes precedence over the other abilities. Might be intentional since in the past I remember the abilities being quite bad while now we will actually benefit from “if Lightning Strike is available, cast it” check before the auto attack ability.

From the latest playtest change notes:

Sigh, right after I finally got mine. Guess it’s back to Mythical Voidmancer?

Seems like the best option yeah. I am gonna miss that phys res from nosferratis :frowning:

Isn’t a puppetmaster belt with an Untamed suffix a good alternative?

If we are including greens into the pool then yes

Hm… with puppetmaster being craftable and only requiring scrap and scavenged plating, with the blueprint itself being sold by Benevald… might end up being the better option. Will test crafting a few of those to check the odds.

Ok… so after some light testing, getting Untamed on Puppetmaster is easy enough, but getting a double rare with both pet affixes… yeah…

Tried Cally with just Voidmancer instead to reduce the RNG -

Took 2 minutes, same as before. So, the loss of Phys res is not really an issue.
Either belt or even a Shadowmancer’s Cord should do fine :+1:

Will officially update build once the patch is live

Is there any big early on MIs or drops/crafts youd reccomend spending a bit of time getting for this build? I swear I saw a more in depth guide talking about drops and what to level at a micro level of instruction but cant find it anymore. Never did a pet build so this is all new to me

First of all welcome to the forums
To answer your question, not really… since the idea is to get to level 100 asap instead as any item you farm early on, you are quickly going to outlevel anyway and game is not hard to the point that you have to actually stop and farm.

Regarding Crafting, Hysteria is a low level relic that might prove useful since Relics dont drop and can only be crafted.

I one hundred percent agree with what Maya said, but some things you might want to find as a new player include Bloodsworn Codex, Zaria’s Pendant, Fleshwarped Archive, Bargoll’s Core, and Will of Bysmiel.

Cuz you’re new, those monster infrequents (MIs), have different level versions that you can replace as you progress through the difficulties. And it’s fun to engage with the items as you play. Again though, this build rules, and you can easily race to 100 without them. Those links also tell you where to find the monsters that drop the items. Except the legendary; most legendaries have no designated drop source.

Oh nice thanks. I did get a bloodsworn codex. I think I got kind of lucky so far with drops for the build. Only time will tell though since I need to also get through elite after normal to really get things going but I am only less than half way through normal

You might have gotten lucky with drops but this build absolutely crushes with no gear. The micro guide you found is probably this, Maya’s magnum opus. Click the dropbox link at the top. I’m a huge fan .

Hm… I would add this one to the list as well if farming for MIs - Halion’s Crest

Reason being that Mind control can be quite the nuisance for new players even if the bosses that have them are few and far in-betwen (sentinel, Loghorrean, etc)
