The MooMooCow - GD League Hellhound Pet Conjurer by Maya

Posting on behalf of someone Else.

Foreword:

The Laziness and Easy-to-Play characteristics of Fluffy Squishy combined with the Bomber playstyle reminiscent of Unstable Anomaly Blightfiend builds.

Focuses on Hellhounds exclusively, with other Pets used to support the Doggos.

Can kill everything ingame, including mod only bosses, except for Moira which might be a bit overtuned.

How to Level –

Since the above build is an endgame build, use the information provided below for leveling.

Attributes:

Everything into Physique, except for when you need to invest into Cunning or Spirit to meet the required stats for equipping items.

Leveling:

There are primarily 2 ways to go. Either focus on Occultist first or Shaman first. I would suggest going with Occultist first since it is more closer to the final setup than Shaman regarding devotions and such.

Occultist:

We will be focusing on Hellhound, Familiar and Elemental Damage. Since we are going for a Conjurer, it is recommended that you put enough points in Shaman early on, to get a 16/16 Briarthorn before going back to focus on the Occultist Side.

Devotions:

  • Purple Crossroads > Shepherd’s Crook > Remove Purple >

  • Green Crossroads > Raven > Rhowan’s Crown (3 points for Elemental Storm) >

  • Blue Crossroads > Eel > Amatok (4 points for Blizzard) >

  • Yellow Crossroads > Tortoise > Dryad >

  • Sailor’s Guide > Panther > Solemn Watcher >

  • Ishtak > Tree of Life (4 points for Healing Rain)

Skills:

  • Lvl 10 – 16/16 Familiar, 1/16 Mend Flesh.

  • Lvl 20 – 16/16 Hellhound, 1/10 Curse of Frailty, 7/10 Vulnerability, 1/16 Blood of Dreeg, 1/12 Storm Spirit.

  • Lvl 30 – 5/10 Curse of Frailty, 10/10 Vulnerability, 1/12 Ember Claw, 16/16 Blood of Dreeg.

  • Lvl 40 – 12/12 Lightning Strike, 1/12 Aspect of the Guardian, 5/12 Bonds of Bysmiel, 1/12 Dreeg’s Evil Eye + 1/1 Focused Gaze.

  • Lvl 50 – 12/12 Manipulation, 1/12 Infernal Breath.

  • Lvl 60 – 10/12 Bonds of Bysmiel, 12/12 Possession.

  • Lvl 70 – 12/12 Storm Spirit, 12/12 Aspect of the Guardian.

  • Lvl 80 – 12/12 Ember Claw, 12/12 Infernal Breath.

  • Lvl 90 – 10/10 Curse of Frailty, 16/16 Mend Flesh.

  • Lvl 94 – Respec as needed, according to the build you are going for.

Shattered Realms Shard 16 (Death’s Waystone) - https://i.imgur.com/H4MMdaD.jpg

Easy to the point of being able to semi-afk. No potions/consumables used except for Elixir of Spirit, because I like to spam stuff :3

.

Crate of Entertainment - https://i.imgur.com/AasuHWL.jpg

Took around 1:30 mins. No potions/consumables used since it was rather easy.

Callagadra - https://i.imgur.com/bFLFOU5.jpg

Fight was rather easy and took around 4:30 mins. No potions/consumables used except for Elixir of Spirit, because I like to spam stuff :3

Ballog’Nath (League Superboss, drops Helm used in build) - https://i.imgur.com/7LqGBiL.jpg

Had no idea what I was doing, but pets ate the boss after a while. No potions/consumables used since it was rather easy.

Galakros (League Superboss) - https://i.imgur.com/XhJXPrE.jpg

Had to use Tonic of Mending & Aether Clusters due to lack of Petrification Resistance. But easy and pretty straightforward otherwise. Elixir of Spirit also used due to Spamming :3

Aranea (League Superboss) - https://i.imgur.com/vJFixTV.jpg

Would have been a pretty easy fight, but is buggy as hell. Boss randomly loses aggro and just runs away at times + Pets sometimes end up spawning on the ledges and end up unable to attack the boss. Used Consumables due to frustration :3

Garia (League Superboss) - https://i.imgur.com/XMA6h9n.jpg

Had no idea what I was doing, but was an extremely easy Fight. No potions/consumables used except for Elixir of Spirit.

Rolderathis (League Superboss) - https://i.imgur.com/Sh7Gfkr.jpg

Elixir of Mogdrogen, Hoarfrost Ointment, Aether Clusters, Tonic of Mending & Elixir of Spirit used. Easily one of the most annoying bosses since you can’t regenerate mana. But, the fight itself is pretty easy otherwise.

Devotions:

  • Green > Red > Yellow >

  • Tortoise > Purple > Nighttalon >

  • Hammer > Typhos > Remove Hammer > Remove Purple >

  • Scholar’s Light > Rat > Solael’s Witchblade > Remove Rat >

  • Dryad > Eel > Sailor’s Guide > Lizard > Panther >

  • Ishtak > Tree of Life (4 points for Healing Rain)

Reserving one more final post.

Okay, getting more confused now. Why 2 different devotion paths? Not just for this build, but for the other league one as well. Or are you meant to switch once you get all 55 devotion points?

The one under “How to Level” is for the leveling build while the other one is for the actual endgame build.

So it is a swap. Don’t you lose out by doing that though? Your endgame devotions aren’t maxed out when you need them to be.

Yes, it is a swap.

While it does mean that you will take longer to level up the endgame devotions, the final iteration of the build uses a highly defensive devotion route with only RR being for Fire and Chaos(since hellhounds are the main damage dealers).

Going for that devotion route from the very beginning will make leveling harder. The intention is to provide a smooth leveling path which also works for farming the endgame gear while using mostly faction items to do so.

Will see if a more similar devotion setup can be used to avoid having to re-max procs and edit it in if found.

Alright, let me know which of these 2 devotion paths you prefer and I will edit the builds accordingly -

  1. Occultist, Level 100 (GD 1.1.9.6) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator
  2. Occultist, Level 100 (GD 1.1.9.6) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator

Much as I like the thought of another pet from Bysmiel’s Bonds I think the first one using Shepherd’s Crook might be better for levelling since it applies to all pets and has a shorter cooldown.

But why not add both and give players the choice. They may think differently to me.

The first one misses out on Solael’s. So players will have to level it up later. Final build uses Solael’s but not Shepherd’s.

Unfortunately, it is impossible to pick Shepherd’s alongside the rest of the procs. One of them will need to be sacrificed.

Shepherd’s route is still better while leveling.

To avoid confusions with 2 different devotion routes for leveling

  • Edited in the new Shepherd’s Crook devotion setup :+1:
  • How to Level section turned into pull-down format for better distinction and differentiation.
