Reminds me of this time… I used to be an in-game “editor” of an online game. People would submit articles to their local “newspaper” and the international one as well. Worked my way up to international editor (unpaid). One Christmas they decided to give ALL editors on the game a free hoodie, we are talking a few hundred editors (and they were NICE hoodies). Well, between collecting addresses, sizes, still developing the game, and shipping these things out internationally… lets just say most of us didn’t see them until about 4 or 5 months after the “promised” date…
The editor forums were brutal… totally uncalled for hostility over the late hoodies… the FREE internationally ships, and high-quality gifts that we maybe spent a hour or two a week dedicated to max… people need to relax a bit.
Thanks for the update.
The problem is that users will leave if improvements are not made, but it is up to the developer to decide when to release updates unless there is an imminent business requirement.
Are you actually exploring the map to uncover new areas? It sounds very strange that you’d run out of resources that soon if you are. The area you start in is just a very small part of the entire map.
The forum does have mods. We’re Europe based though so it’s only now I’m at least seeing all this.
Also this is mature forum where we believe people should be able to express their opinions so long as they don’t step outside the FAQ guidelines. We don’t ban people just because they’re unhappy with something the devs have implemented in their games.
For a purpose of the spiritual buildings, how about introducing a Cultist group into the game, like the waste and rats producing with the growing population, these cultists may set buildings on fire or attack/kidnap other people/children, only with a churchman or a shaman can deal with them and solve the problem for some period of time.
There’s a range of measures one could take in between letting people shit-talk and permanently banning them. Clamping down on uncivil behavior makes for a better experience both for other users here and for devs who are working hard on improving the game but also want to take in feedback.
It’s still early days, so you’re setting the tone now. And it sounds like you need mods in other timezones as well.
I agree, I recently left a AAA game where the forums were total garbage. In the end, the “entitled” won over cooler heads, and the game is now spiraling downhill into total garbage quickly. One of the reasons I prefer indie games, is the devs being so responsive, changes for the better happening often (instead of coding free handouts in to placate the entitled group), and much better interaction in general between those developing, and those playing the game.
Yep But rarely load the game now. Still buying all the packs, it’s like some weird compulsion
@Srikandi no more modding tools from us. It was too full on for too long. You don’t get a chance to play as you have so much responsibility for getting the tool updated fast. The most I’d contemplate now is the occasional mod where I have personally found a need for it.
I know, and im not criticizing which is why added the smiley. It was more along the lines of when your mom told you as a kid you could have 2 cookies and you said “three?” with puppy eye
As medea said, we try to maintain a mature community. As long rules are followed, we try to be minimal on moderation.
In the case being brought up here, someone being flustered with our approach to release dates and perhaps not being particularly nice to us about it does not necessarily warrant moderation.
I’d rather clarify, as I have above, why something is the way it is and hopefully they, and any future flustered reader, will be that much more enlightened. There are of course limits to what we consider acceptable. Someone coming in here to endlessly denigrate the hard work of my team and offer nothing constructive is not going to be posting here for long.
Surprise, surprise…I really do But for example, i wanted to build a Vault, which required 20 iron and stone. i had 3 mines with iron and my Vault was never built. Resources ran out, i had to find another spot to get resources which surprise, surprise again, were NOT reaching my vault’s construction. So after the second mine ran out of resources, i abandoned the idea and went back to my LoL. I wanted to play this for relaxation, bcs i already have LoL to get frustrated You get my point.
So i already abandoned 5 or 6 different maps trying to find a better approach. I still don’t have a vault. And i already finished tropico 2, 3 and 5, so i guess i’m not that dumb to figure the things out.
Are you confusing what iron means though? For the Vault it will be iron ingots, not the iron ore you get from your mines. You need a foundry to turn that ore into ingots.
