The Strangest Feedback

I undarstand that people are frustrated with the current situation in the industry so dude will get no mockery from me. Still that is quite a dedication. Makes me wonder what his feedback looks like for games that are truly problematic.

This is a universe where your player character can shoot elements out of their fingertips, call down meteors and lightning storms (even indoors) and shoot guns with infinite ammo, just to name a few. You fight all manner of beasts, demi-gods and interdimensional horrors while absorbing attacks that would turn a normal human into paste.

Most gamers have a basic understanding of suspension of disbelief and accept these things as part of the power fantasy. So if you know all this and your biggest peeve in the game universe is “one too many short haired women,” then I think it’s possible you’ve consumed way too much rage bait content and are inventing things to be pissed at. Maybe it’s time to take a break for awhile.

This is all perfectly explained by being taken. So…

Awesome. Personally I love it when some NPC’s give dialogue and lore instead of quests. Not everything the game gives has to be character building bonuses. Lore is fun, too. It’s still ‘giving’.

And given this I cannot believe that in 2500 hrs and who knows how many characters and playthroughs, I have never not once told Mornay to go after Elsa. I love that. I thought I had explored all options with dialogue responses (even had skinner burn his family a few times), but I guess subconciously I always chose to give Elsa some peace from that fawning, self-important man. At least, that’s how I see him.

Keep up the great work.

And keep sharing. This dude’s feedback e-mail was next level. Don’t even know where to start with this.

It is like one of the averege assmongold fanboys (cultists)

Intolerance should be publicly shamed and called out. That email was peak intolerance, and also the perfect amount of insanity to be posted. There are a lot of valuable arguments and discussions to be made regarding this game. That sure ain’t one of 'em.

I award the sender no points, and may god have mercy on their soul.

If you’re criticized from “both sides” then you must be doing it right :+1: I’m referring to the complaint that Aetherials only used women for reproduction in Fleshworks.

It’s really the plural noun “men” rather than the abstract noun “man” that makes it ungrammatical, not the lack of hyphen

But, without the hyphen, “the man hating lesbians“ would still be confusing as it could be referring to an individual male employee filled with hate.

Wow, lots to unpack here.
None of it good.

this was an job application as prompt engineer…

Ok so… I assume that Crate is not going to just take this insult and there will be an official response.

But, it needs to be one that is properly thought out and needs to send a clear message. So, this is what I propose -

  • The complaint seems to be mostly about Lesbians who hate men.
  • The character that seems to embody that most accurately in Grim Dawn is Bysmiel as we all know.
  • So, the response should be one that puts the spotlight on Bysmiel and show her in all her glory.
  • Bysmiel is the patron of Pet builds.

Based on the above points, the only proper response is to Buff Pet builds!

Also, a giant Ice Crab Pet is a must since Crab claws looks like Scissors!

ROFL, I almost feel sorry for the guy. His life must be really hard, inventing the most ridiculous things to get mad about and all

Welp, now it’s pretty obvious that the way forward is to give us the Korinia X Anasteria content the game desperatly needed for years, and add extra old man yaoi in the next expantion.

I think we know what Zantai needs to do: buff Fabius. Can’t have Crate be seen as a bunch of haters of men.

Maybe put Sunder in Fabius’s Shadow Strike. :scorv:

Ya know, time to put some Mary Sue man-hating butch lesbian in the game.

That way, the e-mail sender will one true example.

Imagine putting all that time and energy into feedback like that.

I bet that person could have completed the HC Classless challenge if they didn’t spend so much time overthinking a game. They could just write their own story within the bounds of the game world as many of us do with our characters. Sad.

A post was split to a new topic: Stat-checks to resolve non-combat situations in ARPGs

This guy and his complaints is just hilarious. Like, I can only assume by “short haired badass women” he is referring probably to Captain Somer and Korinia (though the latter does not really such short hair).
And I mean, Somer is a soldier, of course she has short hair. Long hair ain’t practical in combat. More than that she is compelled by magic to do what she does. And she ain’t particularly badass - she barely manages to keep Homestead free from the Aetherials and the Cult of Ch’thon but she needs you to do most of the heavy lifting. The farmers even complain that she ignores their warnings about the Dermapterans.
A for Korinia… she is not really human, even. She is an Aetherial possessing a body. She is a badass who seemingly survived impossible odds, but that is because she is an ageless being with probably quite powerful magical powers, we saw what possessed mages can do.

I can maaaaybe imagine he is also complaining about the Coven of Ugdenbog, I guess he never noticed Andros or Ivok? Yeah witches are most often female, but there are men in the Coven too. And they distrust you, an outsider, because they have been persecuted for their faith in the Witch Gods for centuries, not because you are a man, dude… They like you even less if you are an Inquisitor…
