Is there any way for it to work after the patches automatically? After the latest update there is a wrong filesize message

First of all a huge thank you to Glocken for making and updating GI. For me it manage to take this game from about 30 hours played really trying to love the game to having spent over 350 hours on this game with no plans of stopping any time soon. You might very well have made this my new favorite game.

I did not realize just how needed this mod is until the 1.1.2.0 patch came out and I was playing the game without GI while waiting for an update. I was close to saying :furious: and buying the game+dlcs again on GOG as they support patch roll back, so that I could use the mod again. But your insanely fast update to the mod kept me from doing so.

Now we have another hotfix for the game out and I started thinking about buying it on GOG again, until I found this guide on how to rollback to a older patch on steam. I figure a lot of other people would find it helpful as well.

Following this guide I was able to downgrade to v1.1.2.3 (Hotfix 3) And keep playing.

Note: the download can take some time and be a few gig in same cases, just wait until steam stops reporting Network usage before you copy the files to your install

I found interesting and decided to try it, but steam freeze when I try to open, funny that on big picture it open normally, but when I try to use the classic interface it freeze and I have to force close.

I guess I will need to get a separate non-steam copy because these extremely minor updates are getting ridiculous, and I certainly don’t have any expectations for mod authors to update things at everyone elses’ leisure.

It’s probably been discussed to death but this is only an issue since Steam completely removed the possibility of disabling auto-updates, which has led me to have to use copies of games I already own on Steam but can’t play on there due to the update/mod conflict problem. I had no idea there was any workaround however skimming that page it seems a bit too convoluted I’d rather just have previous versions available in the Betas tab in Steam as other games do it, or just consolidate hotfix updates into less frequent patches…

I was playing last night, game crashed, I go to launch it and all of a sudden version mismatch, so there went the rest of my night with Grim Dawn. There was absolutely zero reason I needed that update right at that moment, but apparently Valve believes there is.

Anyway sorry for the little rant, just want to offer my thanks to the mod author for this amazing tool that apparently so many of us can’t live without.

I can’t get it to work. I downloaded the manifest from the patch 7 days ago and then I copied the folder it downloaded into my grim dawn install folder but when I launch the game it’s still v1.1.2.4. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I took today off from work to play and I never get days off and now I’m super bummed out.

edit: Ok I got it to go to version 1.1.2.3 but GrimInternals is still saying wrong file size.
edit2: I got it to work. I wasn’t patient enough downloading and didn’t let it complete.

You have to reinstall GI.
