You could technically change sounds the same way as Rainbow changes texts. I’ve never tried sound files though and it would change the sound wherever it occurs, which is probably not what you want when you refer to PoE Filters and custom drop sounds.
Without looking at GI and GrimLoot, I assume that’s why it needs GI for it, to play the effect when a certain drop occurs. All I do with Rainbow is tell the game to load the colored texts instead, but I couldn’t add a new text or make a different text where the same texts are used, this is why mastery names show up in loot and the skills themselves. It would likely work the same for sounds, but most of the drop sounds are probably based on the item type and there is nothing I can override unless I update the game files.
Since this works for meshes and textures, too, the entire visuals for the game could be changed as long as it replaces a file in the game. One can look at it as very restricted visual modding (that doesn’t require to play custom games)
I love this tool, it is excellent! Thank you for the hard work!
I did notice that the blue monster infrequent item Outcast’s Hood that drops from Anasteria shows up with green item text. Any chance of fixing this for the next version?
Hello. I want to mention i tried Basic Highligh version on 1.1.7 and 1.1.7.1 and colors are messed. They are way too saturated and im quite sure they are wrong as Fire damage is blue etc. I have no other mods and i copied files to settings instead of using software.
Not sure what you mean, if you are referring to their respective damage over time types being a slightly different shade… that’s on purpose. If it’s something else, you may want to try validating your files on steam, because the colors are the same and I don’t have control over Saturation.
Pretty sure that’s how it’s supposed to be. You may have not been using Basic Highlighting in the past. I tried the older 1.1.6.0 and the new 1.1.7.1 an they are literally the same.
Thank you for the report.
I hope we get another GD hotfix I can release those alongside.
@WareBare ah i see in basic highlight, there are very few color groups so fire being blue is normal ok. Can you please consider an Affix-only color version for your mod? where you only highlight base item names + affix rarity and leave all stats by default. I’m using your mod mostly for affix identification.
