Where is the Church?

Maybe you can learn to mod and mod it in instead of continually asking for something after you have been told no.

Again, while the game uses medieval/colonial themes it’s not set in the middle ages. It’s a fantasy world, what it’s background is is up to your imagination to provide. If your imagination sees that as being on Earth in that time period, that’s fine, but many others will see a whole new world that’s totally different.

You already got a direct and detailed reply addressing your concerns yet here you go again with pointless accusations.

And @Ch_thonic_Irrigation that’s actually not what the answer was, was it.

Guys, seriously!!

I am not asking for anything. I am just explaining why people are surprised over the lack of churches. Perhaps the game should be more clearly marketed as a fantasy game, or people are gonna keep asking for a long long time.

Your explanation why there is no religion is clear and clever. Much better than the first answer saying “Oh no! Religion is wreaking havoc in the real world!”. This is probably the reason that has led some to make offensive remarks.

Thank you for this explanation…

I mean, I don’t know why you feel like the developers are responsible for your own misconceptions but that could be pretty cool, it might be nice to have some supernatural events in an expansion pack. Ghosts or something. Please not zombies though, I’m still tired of zombies from the 00s.

It would be nice to have an option to be either monotheistic or polytheistic in the game, but yeah, religion was kind of integral to society in these sorts of eras. I’m pretty happy with the shrines though, as you can just imagine it’s the religion you’re looking for. Although, a temple or some sort of gathering place for the settlers wouldn’t go amiss.

Since everything has been said regarding the reason for and against implementation of religion, I hope we can stop repeating ourselves (and be civil again here). I doubt the pcgamers article will help with that though… Maybe those who want churches in the game could instead come up with suggestions of a good implementation. Or those that prefer a ‘build your own religion’ toolset could think of ways other than just a chosen name and symbol to represent that - ideally without going full Age of Mythology with the gamey effects. Maybe everyone gets purple robes?

The whole town joins the farmers in the Great Digging. Crops? Who needs those? Only Digging. Join the Dig friends.

No time to finish the harvest, it’s time for the harvest festival. Everybody dance now!

I like it! I think most people just want a way to jazz up their graveyards, which, valid. Little statue or altar or something to place in the middle. A fancy like, embalmers building or something.

Many of the bad reviews on steam are “games are only half-finished products”, please prove yourself with actual actions.

You are so needy it’s extremely annoying. You need to chill out with demanding more and more, it’s a game in development with a small team working very hard. We have already had two bug fix updates within a week of release. Have some patience and wait.

Let’s just keep everything civil and you know, you don’t have to reply to everything that gets posted. You can just ignore it.

I did it !

I like the embalmers idea, or even a sort of funeral event that would go well with the graveyard.

A gathering place, where they could share stories maybe have a drink? Like a Pub you mean?

Personally I think it’s really bad idea for a player to let their personal beliefs and feelings interfere with the fact, that the developers are allowed whatever they want because it’s their game, their time, their investment.

They don’t owe you anything. You can buy it, you can not buy it. You can play it, or you can not play it.

If they want flying pigfairydragons as a huntable creature, that’s their choice. Or raiders are now replaced with dancing T2000 terminators, that’s their choice.

Fair point :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: Although, my pubs are always having brawls

For me I am glad the developers left this annoy mechanic out. I do not want a religious system.
