Whirling Blades is OP

They’re not nerfing blind fury they’re removing the feature to bind it to component auras/offensive auras

And requests to not nerf it are meaningless as it was a bug to begin with

What I suggest is wait for the patch go play the most sodomized class combo in GD history and post a feedback (not a rant) on ways we can improve BM performance
I personally hate the treatment BMs have received during the time I have spent on the forums, but feedbacks might help with something

And when I say Blademaster, I meant Pierce Blademaster :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s not the bug. The bug is that when you have an on-attack Devotion proc assigned to a buff - regardless of whether that buff is a damaging aura or a self-buff or what - ANY AND EVERY ATTACK you deal will proc the Devotion. Have Blind Fury on Seal of Blades? Cadence, Blade Arc, Forcewave, the WPS, Shadow Strike, Blitz, etc. can all proc Blind Fury.

That’s why it’s being removed. Not because Seal of Blades can proc Blind Fury, but because everything will be able to proc Blind Fury at any time while the buff is active.

I agree with u that it does good damage - bot not to bosses - just to normal mobs - and again - the damage it does its NOT OP - its just something decent for ulti diff, cause we dont farm normal mobs, we farm nemesis, we farm the hardest.

I have only 1 char, blademaster - and im maxing it out in items/build - and at dumy test with what u say is op i stay near it and leave the pc open for and hour and dumy is not dead - but without whirling blades on procing oleron blind fury and just attacking with my primary attack skill - bonus from belghotian set - i destroy it in like 25-30sec

the ideea here is that, leaveing aside Blademaster class - Oleron’s Blind Fury is not an op skill if its proced by whirling blades.

Someone said that he didnt have to attack with i dunno what build - i call that op - for me as blademaster if i dont attack i die in 1 shot at bosses, not even speaking about nemesis…so yeah…agreed it makes some builds OP…but again NOT Blind Fury !

You’re wasting time and energy by these “try hard” posts. It’s getting fixed that’s a fact. BMs will get affected (yet again) that’s also a fact. The best thing to hope for right now is that pierce BMs buffs in some other form

I think it’s a stretch to expect buffs when the general consensus is that belgothian set is probably getting nerfed.

It seems like soldier might get nerfed too. I wouldn’t be surprised if this goes into the totally unplayable bin after the patch.

Because that has happened so many times right? Oh wait, it hasn’t

Its getting nerfed because of the damned Inquisitor mastery. The infiltrator setup is pretty good, I don’t mind nerfs like that one, since we have the concept of skill mods. Some buffs to blademaster related skill mods would be appreciated

This thread is overwhelmed by naysayers, can´t read it anymore.

Btw: Thx devs for the great work you are doing!

Happens in almost anything related to changes. The naysayers do have a point when they say that Pierce Blademasters suffer a lot because of this.
But their arguments of wanting to resist this particular change are meaningless since the feature itself has been declared a bug. Best thing to hope for is for buffs for Pierce BMs

There are builds who benefited way more than BM from seal of blades. Anything with Flame torrent for starters. That is OP.

BM’s don’t need seal proccing, they need the set to be strong enough.

Bare in mind, updates are inbound for cruci, it will likely get harder so…

Looking forward to Kuba / Grava / Valdaraan last wave already :stuck_out_tongue:

But BM needed something like this those builds didn’t imo, I’d dare so those flame torrent builds didn’t have anything else to bind Flame Torrent to. BM is just caught in the middle (as always )
Final wave 3x Kuba + Reaper of the Lost

Given that the only builds you really see flame torrent on are melee builds, and it being fire all but implies demo is in the mix, I’m curious what sort of build is brewing that lacks enough things to proc (ele storm, witchblade, phoenix, flame torrent, meteors) when you already have flashbang, mines and firestrike to begin with.

Though that’s something of a tangent.

blademaster will get along just fine with blade spirit and ring of steel / shadow strike for proccing stuff. People will just have to make choices on what they’re able to proc consistently on cooldown.

Why bother speaking when they dont hear u right ?

So if its declared a bug - why dont they see the light ?

Oleron Blind Fury should remain procable by Whirling Blades - its not something op, its something normal for ulti diff. Nothin more needed said…

So it’s a bug because they don’t want to fix the underlying cause – that auras + devotion offensive abilities don’t separate aura tick damage from other attack damage when determining devotion procs?

I mean, we have other multi-hit per cast abilities that can trigger offensive devotions, like Grasping Vines and Ravenous Earth. Why can’t offensive damage ticking auras be modified to interact with devotions in the same manner?

Because that’s not how it works. What logic is there to allow Blind Fury to able to be bound to Whirling Blades but not Blades of Wrath or Falcon Swoop? This is one of the cases that is either for all or for none.

They won’t be mixed as i understand it. Last new waves will be AoM only

Ah well then, I guess that we will have to do without the pleasure of being teleported and then instagibbed-nullified right after

I have the gut feeling Kuba won’t have the splitting mechanic in the Crucible, kind of like how Moosilauke doesn’t have his resurrecting gimmick because he starts in his second stage from the start.

Because a ton of small Kubas running around, splitting from two big Kubas is sure to make some people framerate shit the bed.

Depends what you mean by just fine I guess. Basically, blademaster players want dw pierce blademasters to be good in crucible, this fix makes dw pierce blademasters not good in crucible.
