Well the less green/no double rare version works just fine but it doesnt get close to the times of how it is post. I might still throw it in build anyways because it is still very stable and tanky.
I even have him back with yeti too

No more double rares folks (dunno if the very specific magic affixes is any better) but enjoy.

First things first, the build is still a monster even in SR 120. Not sure how or why it still does this much damage, but it does.

That said, I must also concede that as easy it is to kill enemies, it is just as easy to die.
If you get aggro, you die. If you get hit by Iron Maiden or Fabius, step on a single BennJahr’s mine, a meteor lands anywhere withing your field of view… you get the idea.

Perhaps because I am used to playing builds that go all in on defense (i.e, my own builds), this was extremely challenging for me and I spent god knows how many hours trying to actually do atleast one run after boasting to Crittrain via PM that the build shreds SR 120

The reason is mostly that the non boss shards go extremely fast since like I said above, there is alot of damage packed into the build and so it does Shred through most things. Plus, as you can see from the screenshot, I did not shy away from using consumables either. Since I had tested the build before, I kind of had an idea what to expect, so started using consumables from the beginning itself rather than wait till the boss room.

My issue however was Fabius “ICritU<3” Gonzar showing up pretty much every single run. And when he didn’t, he sent his friend Iron “IWantHugsies :3” Maiden. Both of them only need to look in your general direction for you to die. 2 runs where they didn’t show up, I had Moosi + Kaisan in one and Reaper + Kuba in another.

So, most of the time was spent trying to actually get a boss room I could complete. I finally got one with Salazin, the Shattered Blade, Valdaran, Zantarin & Benn’jahr. Even there I died plenty and had to reset aggro multiple times because Valdaran kept swapping me into the middle of everything leading to extreme violation and defilement of the summoner and his pets…

Salazin fell first, followed by Valdaran and then Zantarin and finally Benny. To be honest I wasn’t even sure I would be able to complete it and originally wanted to go for the lava map, but was too tired to further tempt fate…

As for gameplay, it revolved around running like a headless chicken on fire through a minefield while being carpet bombed…

As for consumables, pretty much everything I could think of, I used. I also got the extra temporary Pet thingy from Vile Tincture just for extra dps.

Major issue was aggro even though it is a beastcaller build with 17/12 GroundSlam. I suppose it could be attributed to having more active skills and not getting that mutator which lowers enemy resistance to Taunts.

Also, there was the health drain from Dying God and low HP & HP Regen compared to my usual Pet builds that I am familiar with. Combine that with a piano-ish playstyle which also is something I am not used to… and I was having trouble with piloting.

But I must also say that seeing the boss’s health bar vanishing rapidly as opposed to feeling like fighting Callagadra, was pretty awesome.

And before I forget, Camera Abuse naturally was exploited to the maximum. We will see how things turn out SR wise in the next patch once Camera thingy is removed, but I am willing to bet that it would still be a monster. Having to fight 2 bosses at once doesn’t make much difference if they melt like Ice cream in boiling water :stuck_out_tongue:

All that said, the Fwuffy haz done its part and now for the most important thing:

Goodness , Thats alot of great info and I greatly appreciate it @Maya
I might try some different devos, Tree would probably help alot here and with my messing around with korvaak lately I would imagine that petrify to help here also. Might be worth looking at/trying.

Does Petrify work on bosses?

Also, about to kill Moggy and Ravager for extra scores in that Google Doc thingy :stuck_out_tongue:

Im not sure on bosses but it does help control everything else (Which in SR I think being able to control randomness is helpful?).
Summons/healers/trash in general then the OA/DA shred.
I have been using it alot lately and on a couple builds they simply wont perform without korvaak.

Hm… on that note, one of my issues was also the low stun res. It ended up causing a few otherwise unavoidable deaths in non boss rooms. Bosses like IM didn’t care either way

Also, I kind of want to draw a major comparison to my Fluffy Squishy.

Ravager of Flesh, Fluffy kill time = 6mins on avg.

Ravager of Flesh, KaosKats = under 2mins on avg… (My fastest ever Ravager kill on any of my Pet builds was 4min+)

Now time to update the build’s score on that spreadsheet thingy :stuck_out_tongue:

@Crittrain now you have rights to add “SR120+ farmer” into thread title :scorv:

@Maya How was bosses with a lot of AoE and RR shred like Anasteria? Were they possible if not pulled last?

Never got Ana herself, so can’t say about her.

But, did get Shattered version of Theodin and his meteors were either dodge or get 1 shot, more or less.
Moosi as always was a pain and I just gave up after a half hearted attempt since the map also had Fabius waiting for me.
The only real “AoE” based enemy I actually bothered fighting instead of resetting SR was Benny.

Aoe based bosses would have been easier if in the Lava Room though, since you have more freedom to kite without risking aggro.

I am not used to playing with a full skill bar , so from the get go, I didn’t really want to take my chances much. And most of runs were filled with Iron Maiden and Fabius (2x once ).

You can further test out the build in SR if you wish. Should fare better than me atleast :yum:

So pets were able to survive all these aoes? I agree IM or Fabius are real nemesises for pets (or kiting casters for deep sr), especially Iron Maiden’s charge gave me PTSD.
Everything what is walking slowly seems good for pets but I was messing in really high sr only with ghol ritualist and cabalist where anasteria or theodin were not a challenge due to resummoning all pets in second. Losing all long CD pets right after resummoning on conjurer may leads to disaster

Ah, no. Pets died left and right. My method of fighting was/is basically check if Aether Cluster was up and if so, fight and once it is used and on CD, get the hell away from the boss and either lose aggro or just run around until Clusters were back up.

So losing pets was not much of an issue since they last longer than the player

However, one major problem it caused was that enemies that could heal (I have come to hate Fabius more than Callagadra and Crate combined…) were pretty much impossible since their CD would reset too while I was waiting for mine.

True, all these healing bosses are horrible to meet with casters/pets because they can’t be facetanked and kiting too much is not good method too. I attempted sr140 with warlord and meet IM, facetanked her for very long time (with 3x speed from GI because it was so slow with normal one) and she killed me after 6th reset

What a great build. I think this would be if i made another pet build the build I picked. The results kind speak for itself, but chaos is cool anyway. Very much a all rounder as far as i can see. *****

Returning to Grim Dawn after like a realllly long time off - this build looks interesting, I like pet builds. Any recommendation on how to level with this?

Uhm not really, I would probably just follow mayas lvling guide for conjurer.
I think at level 24 you can get salazars dagger and I would use that no matter how you level that pet is crazy good
